Hi,

I was at Cafe Havana last night and plenty of girls obviously even on a Monday night. I approached one, we had some drinks and a nice dancing together and she bluntly told me that she is working there and is happy to go with me (implying "for a fee"). I did not pick her up in the end. Hi to French touch. Understand the question. I'm lucky in that I have a car in Makati so its just as easy to drive to Sogo. Only takes 20 mins usually. And sometimes I've even had a blow in that 20 mins. I digress.

Sogo is fine. Theres an Anito thats on EDSA heading down, (right on the border of Makati /Pasay as theres an ordinance about no motels in Makati) but they usually make you wait for the rooms to be cleaned.

Within Burgos I never found anywhere that wasnt a noisy or expensive shithole. Above Filling Station is crap. Above Tickles bar is crap.

Theres a new place above Sports Bar but last visit I asked and was told it was P2000 overnight and P1500 short time. For that money I prefer to drive to Sogo and take the Exec room with the jacuzzi. Altho the jacuzzi is missing the high pressure shower hose. I found that when I use that on girls they just come and come and come. I digress again.

Anyways the short answer is never found anywhere in or around Burgos that works. And yes I go often and maybe will be there in one or two weekends time. Hmmm who will my victims be this time. (Halloween type ho ho ho laugh)

A bomb explosion has likely hit a shopping mall in Makati City early this afternoon that killed at least 8 people and left several others wounded said Philippine National Police Director General Avelino Razon.
Ayala Corp spokesman Alfonso Reyes confirmed that the explosion occurred at around 1:40 p.m.Investigators have identified four of the dead as Liza Marquez, Jose Allan de Jesus, Lester Peregrina and nursing student Janine Marcos. They all died of shrapnel injuries.

FYI, Update on explosion...It was caused by a badly installed generator diesel tank, exposed wires and sewage pipes (methane) routed wrong.

I was in the mall last Saturday and I was going to my favorite cell phone booth (second hand cells) on the 4th floor and found the entrance boarded up. It was right where the explosion happened. I am worried as I had a lot of friends that worked in those booths.:(

BTW, I was wondering what you guys think is the best / closest Smotel near Burgos. I have been in a few places, don't remember all of them. Sogo Pasay is a bit far, but the rooms are great. I always take the best ones. If I am with Freebies, I take 6 hours, even if I know that I will leave before, the 200 PHP difference is change, and I have noticed that they are happy to think you will spend long time. Think it improves the whole performance.

Sogo in Mandaluyong along Edsa is cool also, but very busy at times, and rooms less nice, or maybe not lucky.

Anything closer to Burgos and still not a dump?

I have been to the Philippines 7 times and am married to a filipina. My wife laughs when I tell her how much some guys pay. In angeles how much are the girls getting there thats the way it should be. An initial report suggested the blast was caused by a cooking gas tank in a mall restaurant, but Metropolitan Manila police chief Geary Barias later said the explosion was at the entrance of the mall and its cause was under investigation.

"It's too early to say if it's terrorism related," Barias said.

In the past, Manila has been a target of Al-Qaida-linked militants, who have waged a yearslong bloody bombing campaign in the southern Philippines.

The explosion extensively damaged the Glorietta 2 shopping complex in Makati, toppling roofs, destroying walls, and sending debris crashing onto cars outside.

At least eight people died and as many as 70 others were hurt, Barias said.

"I was told by officials of the explosives and ordnance disposal division that it could be a bomb, but it's not definite yet," said national police chief Avelino Razon.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo said in a statement she was "deeply saddened" by the incident and ordered police to investigate "and to leave no stone unturned."

Witnesses told radio stations they saw bloodied people being helped out and carried away in ambulances. An Associated Press photographer saw four bodies covered with blankets.

Taxi driver Mario Em said he had just dropped off two women at the mall when the blast hurled them against his vehicle, killing them instantly.

He said he pulled one of the victims, who was pregnant, from underneath his car.

"The blast was so loud I lost hearing," he said.

People inside the mall scampered toward the exits when the blast shook the mall.

"One man who was in front of me was already dead. There was a child but we don't know where the child is now," said witness Dennis Inigo, who was shopping at the time of the explosion.

"The man's wife was with me a while ago, and her leg was shattered. Many people were falling on top of each other," he said. "It was loud, and then it became dusty."

In 2004, Abu Sayyaf militants, notorious for kidnappings and beheadings, blew up a passenger ferry in Manila Bay, killing 116 people in the country's worst terrorist attack. The following year, four people were killed and dozens wounded when a bomb exploded on a Makati bus and two southern cities.
