Day 1:
I decided to go down to Manila recently for a few days and am sure glad I did. It was a fun town to spend some time in. I caught a few cases where mysterious drinks appeared for the girls (and sometimes they were discretely returned to the bar) that I had not ordered. No bar seemed too annoyed that I paid as I went but it did send the message or at least the impression that I knew the score. Also people will try to constantly rip you off especially taxi drivers. Make sure they use the meter and be polite with them and everyone else. Also buy a local SIM card. It will allow you to communicate with the ladies and see them at time convenient to you and also allow you to avoid the bar fines sometimes. I stayed at a very nice 5 star hotel and I think that played a part in a lot of girls texting me saying they wanted to meet me after work to spend the night. I know that I paid more than I should have to the girls but rates are really cheap so I did not worry about P1000 here or there. I just wanted to have a good time.

Well looks like I made the last contribution on this forum and two weeks later I'm making the next contribution.

I know you stated your report was from one year ago but theres maybe plenty newbies here who have also had dissapointing times. I'm a guy aged 50 who used to live in Manila and now I live in another Asian country but visit Burgos once every two months.

The Oxford Suites was definitely a much better hotel. I asked them to give me the highest floor available, It was clean, bright, and no bugs that I saw. The only real down side is the elevators are way too slow. I think they must have too many staff or something who are constantly using them to get from floor to floor doing something that probably isn't entirely necessary to use an elevator for. I guess the other thing is that at about 2,500p a night it is a little expensive for what I think should be paid in the Philippines, in my opinion.

The hotel is located just off of P. Burgos St. which has all the girlie bars. There must be over a dozen of them side by side for three blocks plus a few extra places off of some side streets. At first you think you have reached paradise but after sitting inside of a couple of these places, it's a far different story.

I can't possibly remember all the names of them, my apolgies for not making notes, but the first bar I went to had all the girls wearing white uniforms. There was maybe a couple of other customers in the place but a good number of girls, most of whom looked like they were just starting their shift. There was a little stage that the girls could all get up and dance on but most of them were sitting around talking instead. After ordering an expensive beer, a couple of girls came over and wanted to play some kind of "connect four" game. Well I don't mind playing some games but not really what I came in for and besides I had read on the forum that they actually charge you to play this game (and not tell you they charge for it until after the fact). After a little while, still no one had propositioned me. The next bar was down stairs in a basement. It had a cozier atmosphere and was the darkest place I had been in so far. About four or five girls at a time would dance on a very bright stage and rotate every couple of songs. I think everyone was wearing black uniforms in this place. A couple of girls come and sit on either side of me. I buy the prettier one a drink and eventually the other one leaves when I ignore her. This time I am determined to make it explicitly clear what I wanted. I ask her how much to take her out and she says the bar fine is 4,000p.

I am completely shocked. Understand that this was all happened almost a year ago, I was a bit drunk, so maybe the numbers here are a bit off. But it was definitely very expensive especially after having had two girls from LA Cafe the night before for only 3,000p total. My experience has taught me that whenever something is very expensive it usually will come with additional rip offs like trying to up-sell me later for additional services that I had assumed were already included. I told her I was not interested and she left me alone. I was hoping that maybe another pretty girl would come over and offer a more competitive rate but no such luck.

I did notice that one table across the room had this guy sitting there with about four girls around him all smiling and laughing. I did notice the price came down about 500p as the night got later but it was still astronomical for the whole purpose of coming to the Philippines in the first place.

There was one small interesting exception that I'll tell you about. Another bar that was in a downstairs basement, I think, was fairly large and reminded me of a fancy nightclub. It was a little darker and very blue - blue lights and blue curtains. I was greeted by a hostess who promptly showed me to a large round table and quickly motioned for a number of girls to join me. The table and sofa seats were actually raised up on a high platform to make it seem more secluded from the rest of the club. After I ordered my beer the girls, there was probably about six or seven of them, were very frisky and running their hands up and down all over my shirt and pants.
