Near the "Burgos" (not spelled correctly?) area - Got a chance to slip away from my hotel for a couple of hours and returned to the scene of past crimes. Avoided all the Burgos bar hawkers. The girls on the street were mostly cold with avoidance/defensive syndromes, which I really didn't understand. I just figured if they were reasonably hot and out walking in that area at night, they were fair game. They certainly appeared to be working girls of some variety. If you're already at P.Burgos St, there's no need to take a taxi, even a moto taxi from there. Surely your two feet can walk 2 measly blocks east on Kalayaan from Burgos St and look to your left. Sheeesh, the laziness of some people...

I am a regular on the UAE board and sometimes come to Manila for a break (ie work). Thought I had 2 nights in Makati but due to the airline and traffic in Manila which always seems worse than the last time, it ended up being one. Also work intervened as I arrived – various people to call in the USA and Europe meant I was still working the emails around 4am with a 7am wake up call for meetings in Manila.

Now my favourite UAE WG (Nikki or Miss N as she is affectionately known by UAE mongers) was supposed to meet me in Makati and take me around the bars. Second night in Makati, and following an earlier post on this thread I intended to check out Café Havana in Greenbelt 3. Got there about 10pm on a Wednesday evening, however it did not look too promising. There were plenty of people about but the vast majority were couples – no obvious single women or women in groups either inside the café or outside. Sat in Starbucks for a while to kill time as it had started raining, however 40 minutes later no obvious improvement, so therefore got in a taxi for Burgos.

Sat in Bubbles bar and bought a drink for a cute girl that had caught my eye. Would have spent more time with her but unfortunately she was ‘working together’ with her friend, who did not interest me at all (very average looking). Last time I was in Makati, I liked Flamingos and Wild West, better quality etc. Bottoms is IMHO the wildest of the lot on Burgos, had a good time there as well but perferred the otehr 2 places, but after your FR may have to double check again. Visitede a number of palces in Burgos but just liked the first two above had a nice Cebu girl from Flamingos, reminded me of the UAE when I was with her!

Last week I had my second visit to Makati this year, so keen to visit some different bars on Burgos. Started with Flamingo and was not to be disappointed. Not to start with anyway. I was aware that this bar is also under the same management as Flamingo, and it turned out to be a bad choice as they were very nervous following the raid that had just happened next door, especially when word arrived that all of the girls had been lead away. I've been to Renaissance World hotel, but there is nothing on the 3 thd floor. I took the main entrance.
I think the aquarium is on the other entrance, but I couldn't get it because there were cleaning the place......
The other entrance is on Armaiz Av.
I doubt now if Phoenix 1 is really in World Renaissance hotel.....
