After coming up empty after using the search engine, I wanted to ask if anyone has any experience at all at a bar called Ringside in Makati. What kind of action is there. And specifically, I want to know are the waitresses "off limits" or are they all fair game. I was told by a cute little Filipina who is a waitress there that the waitresses do not barfine, however she is trying hard to by my exclusive girlfriend in PI so that might just be to make her seem innocent. By the way, I'm planning my next trip to Manila in about 10 days. I will be hooking up with that new girl there, but plan to hit the town for at least one night.

Finally, some of you might have noticed a dry spell in my posts. I have had a nice long term relationship with a sweet Filipina, but her jealousy and desire to control my every move drove me crazy and back out to the wild. Cheers!

Ringside is the new bar that replaced Cuddles. Considering that cuddles was maybe the worst bar in Makati, anything would be an improvement.

The bar has a boxing theme and the girls "dance" in the ring. They have "sexy boxing competitions" a couple of nights a week, but I have never seen one. I would consider this a good bar with a decent selection. As in most Burgos bars, waitresses cannot generally barfine as they are not licensed as GRO's or dancers, but arrangements can be made with the mama if the girl wants to go with you. Convincing a cute waitress to go with you will generally take several visits to the bar however, so make sure she is worth it.

The girl prices are high here and you better get the info on all night stayover before you leave the bar.The girl should be asked all the proper questions before you return home and get the famous I can only stay 3-4 hours before I gotta go thing.

The first question should be can you stay all night,and get this first unless you want to sleep alone. Second find ouy if she has her RED TIDE PROBLEM. The girls will work the bars even when on menstration all they do is ladies drinks.So if you find a gal you like ask, they will not take the questions in a bad way they will know you are not that new to the deal here and maby it will save you some trouble down the road.

Never think the girl is not trying to Scamm you for money because they will tell you anything to see if you take the bait.I think it is not a good idea to go bar hopping for a long period of time after you get the gal you want.After all how many drinks can a 90lb gal drink before getting drunk. I had a great time with every girl I saw and most were not drinking when we got back to the hotel.

If you go out bar hopping and she is drunk at the return to your hotel do not be surprised if she will not want to do anything other than sleep. If she is not willing to do anything and you do not want her there you can take her back to the clubb and get a refund. They will not tell you this but it happened to me in angelis city.No problems but you can not have physical contact with here and expect your money back afterwards. Allways treat your gal with respect even when she has had too much to drink.It all comes back to you for treating her nice. After all you do not know when the last time she got someone to take her out of the bar was.

Some of the gals work all week and make only a fue ladies drinks in which they split half the money with the bar,thats not a great deal now is it. These gals are for the most part honest and working to feed themselves and there families, and will not do anything to bring trouble to you or themselves.

Just ask and they will answer be Frank and you will have a great night at the many bars here.

As a matter of fact I will be back in Makati during the last week of May and it would be very nice to see my pal Juniour in front of Billboards. I doubt he would call me a fag to my face. Anyway, he also peddles drugs, only weed instead of viagra.

After my trip to Boracay a couple of weeks ago I returned to P. Burgos St and stayed at the Makati Palace. I stopped into Dimples in the early evening to surprise one of the ladies I have seen a few times. I had a few drinks with her and then paid the usual 3k pesos for the barfine.

We decided to go barhopping so we went over to Billboards where the music is much better than most of the places on that street. As we were walking I got approached as we all do by the dudes selling Viagra. As usual, I politely declined and kept walking but this dumbass will not leave me alone. Finally, the lady who is with me tries to tell him in tagalog I’m not interested. He says something to her which pisses her off. She then tells me the dumbass just called her a “prostitute”. Imagine the nerve of this dude calling a girl working at Dimples a prostitute!

So now I’m chasing Viagra Boy down the street to kick his fucking ass in the spirit of saving the good name of my little peaches who has been called this dastardly name. The truth of the matter was I was in no mood for fighting so I really didn’t run too fast and gave up after about 25 yards just to put up a good showing in an attempt to impress the little lady. We then go into Billboards for a number of drinks and dancing.

As we are leaving Billboards to go back to the room I am a few steps ahead of my gal who is talking briefly to the mamasan. As luck would have it the same dumbass Viagra salesman walks right up to me again asking if I want some Viagra! I guess all us white guys look alike because he obviously did not recognize me. Before I had a chance to even think about it I landed a crisp uppercut to Dumbass’s jaw and he went down like a sack of potatoes. Now he’s laying there in a heap right in front of Billboards and I’m waiting for somebody to either jump me or arrest me. Nobody says a fucking word. It was beautiful. My girl was even more impressed and the sex was fantastic that night. I didn’t see him the next day. I think he took the night off with an ice pack attached to his jaw. Just another night on P. Burgos…

The Swagman in Ermita has a little sportsbar and shows most NRL,Super 14 and Cricket live (where poss) so im sure the same is for AFL games.

JW Oxford Suites in P. Burgos had the ABC Asian Pacific last time I stayed there in August last year. You could check with them before you booked just too make sure. The Oxford also in IMHO it is the best value for money hotel in Manila and is right in the middle of the action and is definitely girl friendly.

There is also a Sports Bar just down the street near Magambo's but I am not sure if it has the Aussie Rules.

BTW who do you barrack for?

Bangkok is usually my stomping ground and I know the hotels and bars there but Im sadly lacking this info in Makati.

I had some time so I decided to give some answers to a guy who sent me a PM. As I was writing it, I realized it might be of some use so I decided to post it here. It was in answer to what to do around the Shangri-la Makati and if it was girl-friendly. Here is my response:



The hotel is definitely girl friendly. How long are you staying? What types of girls are you looking for?

Do you like the bargirl types or the regulars?

To start, if this is your first time, get a cell phone. Where are you from? If you have a GSM phone, you can buy a sim card for 150 pesos and put it in your phone. If you don't have one, you can buy a used one for under 1500 pesos to use. Buy a 500 peso load and you should be good to go for a week. Give out your # and watch the text messages come in.

The first place I'd go is Phoenix 1. It's a massage parlor about 1/2 kilometer from the hotel. It is in the Roman Suites hotel on Arnaiz Ave. Just ask a taxi driver to take you to that hotel--they won't know Phoenix 1.

Once you get there, go up to the 3rd floor and they will take you to an aquarium where there should be 10-20 girls for you to choose from. Choose your girl, pay the 1200 pesos and they take you to a room. Not sure if you are familiar with massage parlors here but the girl should give you a shower, a massage and whatever else you want. Extras should be 1500 pesos. The girl may ask for 2000 but you can get away with 1500.

I know people say that the bar on the 2nd floor of the Shangri-la, Havana cafe in Greenbelt, Starbucks next to the hotel and in Greenbelt and the Hard-Rock cafe have girls but I have found them to usually be on the ugly side. Plus, you have to watch out for the transvestites. Some of them are hard to tell.

You will definitely want to check out the Burgos scene one evening. I stay at the Mandarin hotel which is about 4 blocks away and Burgos is 3 more blocks from there and I always walk but you probably want to take a taxi. It will cost about 50 pesos.

Walk down Burgos and check out a few of the bars (there are over a dozen). You will see dozens of girls on the street, in the Mini-Stop, 7-11 and internet cafes waiting to be picked up. But, the ones on the street are usually ones who failed their STD tests, too ugly to work in a club or TVs. There was one who chased me down the street offering me a massage in my room for 500 pesos. She had a big rack and looked like a woman but others have told me that she was a he. I didn't accept so I'm not sure. Everytime I walk or drive down Burgos I always see him/her.

There's another MP near there called Palasio Don Pedro. If walking down Burgos from Makati Ave, turn right on Kalayaan (the big street) and left at the second street. You will see the name in neon blue and can't miss it. Same deal as Phoenix 1 except the rate will be anywhere from 1000 to 2000 depending on what time of day you go.

If I recall correctly, from 2:01am - noon it is 1000, noon to 6pm is 1200 and 6:01pm to 2:00am is 2000. A presidential room is a little more but it is just a bigger room which I really don't care about.

That should be good for a day or two. I can give you some other clubs in Pasay to visit--never been to the Quezon City club scene because I've been happy with the Pasay ones. I hear that the girls are higher quality in Quezon City but it is also more expensive. I've found enough good ones in Pasay to keep me happy...

Actually, I was there last week and the Starbucks was closed for renovations. It might be open by now but I know last Sunday it was closed.

At the Makati Shangri-la I'd recommend Phoenix 1 for starters...
