Posts: 4567Makati taxi and Copacabana (should be on MLA thread)
Kojack, taxi fare should be under 150 if you use the meter. I think around 100.
Always have small bills for these guys because they NEVER have change. I personally give a little extra tip for those who don't run women/children off the road nor blast their horn more than 40% of the time.
Copacapbana (in Manila). Porty, ask to see a room before you pay your money. Some have balconies. Some face the street (noisy) and some face the pool.
(Now there's an idea....second floor...facing the pool....you see a lady in the pool and you grab your towel...or binoculars)
As for aircon problem, always put the girl farthest from the air con. In the copa apartment rooms, you could open the door to the living/dining area to warm things up.
You asked about the waterfront. The copa is not near the Baywalk area which has open air bars, live bands/restaurants and lots of people strolling. Around Copa, there isn't much to see / do. If you walk several blocks (south? behind the hotel) you will find a very lively and colorful market - Baclaran Market. There is also a Catholic church there if you need to say some prayers.

Posts: 126You don't have much choice at the Arrival area, everyone is going to charge $300 pesos (flat rate) If you want you can go up the stairs to the departures area and get a metered cab for about $150 pesos
Plenty of money changers on P Burgous St.. Check around for the best rate as they vary from place to place

Posts: 105[QUOTE=X Man]Oh, Porty. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Thanks X man. Hey is a compliment to be called Proky as I am 5-11 tall and wieght only 70 kilos, which is around 150 lbs. Yes sorry I did know its in Pasay city, but I think Makati is close by, maybe 5 to ten minutes by taxi.
You mentioned the waterfront. Is that where passaway is? About Copacabana: I will watch out for the drink charge, thankx. With the aircon, as you know, most of the girls don't like it too cold! I had so many problems in the past with the girls wanting the air con off over night ? Do the windows open in the rooms? And if so, do you get mossy up that high at night if you leave window open?
This will be my first trip to Manila as I have new airline that only flys to Manila, not to Cebu, but its half the cost of Singapore Airlines from Perth, Australia. I do have a few girls lined up from Friendster. I use to belong to Filipino Hearts but gave that up as never had anything good from there, so why pay for shit. But Friendster is quite good as the ones I am meeting know what I want and are cool just to hang out. I will be careful as they might want peso, but most of them are 8's because I am very choosy. I will be going to Butuan Nad Cebu and my first trip to Davao. Yes girls in all. But have all the info from here about the cities if no luck with any of them.
Thnx x man, like your post. Hope if I am lucky I bump in to you in October.

My plans got pushed ahead of schedule. I'll be in town by Saturday Sept.10 for a few weeks of work. My evenings and weekends will be free. If anybody want to hook up for a few SMBs and whatever, drop me a line.

Oh, Porty....sorry, I couldn't resist.
Copacabana is in Pasay City - not Makati. Yes, it is across from EDSA just a short walk from Roxas blvd. which is the road that runs along the waterfront.
I like Copa because it has a nice pool and is close to the airport if you have an early flight. The rooms are big. They always seem to push me up to the top floor which is where they have remodeled so as to create more rooms...single rooms. The apartments are very spacious with a living/dining room adjacent to the bedroom (which has the air con.). Too bad they don't put fans in those living/dining rooms, because the air con won't cool it down.
To be honest, I'm still not sure which style of I prefer -- single room or apartment. On the floors with apartments, it seems like some of the places are permanently occupied.
Twice, I have been charged at check out for a drink that I didn't consume. The first time i had some doubt cause I was drunk and didn't watch the girl every second. The second time, I have no doubt. It's not much money, but I don't like the idea.

I like new clubs! I've been waiting for more information on this club. Any one been there yet with report? Prices and quality. I will be staying in Makati Copacabana Apartments in October. But as I only have 2 nights, I don't want to waste time! Is Foxys close to EDSA, as thats across the street from my hotel.
My first post here, but I've been to Cebu 5 times in 18 months. I am junior monger he he he. I really like the post from you senior mongers. I hope to give fresh views on life after my next trip.
Thanks jackson for upgrading me.

Tommygold is right. Leave after 8 and you'll get there quicker. Stardust closes around 330AM and plenty of taxis outside. Make sure the taxi driver starts the meter, a few will try to charge you more on the side.
Not sure about takeout from Stardust but you can pretty do everything in their VIP room.

Just Rocco,
You can get taxi from Makati to Quezon Ave bars for about $3 meter and it takes about thirty minutes. You can easily flag a taxi at the clubs there to return to Makati at any time of the night. The club can assist you there too.
