Anyone know of a reliable testing center in manila? To enter the US one needs a rapid test given by a person, the self tests I have are not accepted unless they include a teledoc call which they don't unfortunately.

For other travellers do keep appraised of changing testing requirements. Many countries follow similar advice as the pandemic progresses.

Australia has recently removed the requirement for pre-departure covid tests for incoming vaccinated passengers. Perhaps other governments (I'm looking at you GOV. PH) will start to realize that arriving vaccinated passengers are lower risk than the current Ph community risk. Possibly the same in USA.

In my personal case it is 6 weeks before I arrive in Ph. That's a long time in covid-years so I am making an assumption requirements will change either in my Ph arrival requirements, my return requirements, both or none.

Centuria Medical. Gen Luna St which is a stone's throw from City Garden Grand. 12th floor. Room 1201 as I recall. $1200 piso. They give the test results to you right then and there.

Thankfully flying to the US we don't need the PCR test for the US they accept a rapid antigen tests these the results just need to come from somewhere other than a self test, you can use use a self test you brought with you from the US if that test is accompanied with a teledoc session which mine do not, which is sad because they are the ones biden handed out for "FREE". I will use google as a last resort if there is not a more reliable testing center / lab that someone uses here or one someone has used to successfully fly to the US.

Rapid tests should only run somewhere south of 1k, most of the tests seem to be in the 750 php range, they say they provide home service for that 750 but I am not sure how that works.

I dont have to take this test for a few weeks so thanks for the heads up i will walk over to that testing center near Robinsons since its close to my hotel that doesnt show up in my google searches nor google maps so ill see if i can find it. There is however a giant hospital on the other side of Robinsons that i have never been to. It says it is a covid testing site as well.

The embassy makes no note of approved testing sites.

Says they accept rapid tests that " meet the requirements under the Order".

Kind of irks me that the manila embassy says nothing about this since it is a requirement and gives no guidance on providers they accept within the philippines and one of the services the embassy is suppose to offer is medical assistance, at the very least releasing a list of labs in manila they accept would be prudent, since this is not optional and the order says they do not accept ALL rapid tests (I assume they do accept them all, given they accept some at home tests, however that not what the order states).

EDIT: a-little more digging i found they kind of do give a list of centers they should accept.

It seems as if they will accept DOH approved labs and the DOH has a list of approved labs. However this list does not have any licensed rapid antigen labs and it seems to be a list of licensed PCR test labs.

For mobile testing centers, you can do both a Google and / or FB searching for "Covid test Manila". Also, I posted previously several pics of such mobile-testing advertisements, complete with lab name and phone numbers in NCR. You make an appointment, and they send a nurse to your residence to collect the sample. Such services were running in the p5-6000 range a year ago, but they came down in price to p4000 (or just a bit less) later in 2020. Some of the ads were targeted to departing passengers who required a test within 72 hours of departure.

Some of the ads offered price breaks for time-sensitive results. You want 24-hour results, p4000 (or such). You want 12-hour results, p5000. There are dozens of such ads in social media. They started showng up in my feed a few weeks after I arrived in Manila. Soon they were clogging my feed. I would log in and get 1-2-3 ads in my feed. I could log out, then log right back in, and see 1-2 new ads quickly in the feed.

As a repeat. There is a testing site right next to Robinson's Malate. It is on Padre Faura street, at the corner of Adriatico St. As a reference point, just across Adriatico St on the corner is the 7-11 next to G-Point Bar. It is a PCR test. Results show in your email about 8 hours after the test (complete with validation QR code). The testing center is run by PAL. Cost was p2600 at the time. If you exit Robinson's onto Faura St, turn left, and walk half a block (just before Adriatico St), the testing center (and PAL ticketing center) is on your left, inside a gate. Showing up at the 9 am opening means having emailed results by sundown.

Google and FB searches for "Covid testing Manila" are your best friend.

That sounds like a lot of work and stress. Wouldn't it be easier to find a partner that understands your needs and lets you play when you need to as long as you come home? As a Rich White Man in Philippines you should be able to find that. Hell, my Singaporean 20 year younger than me wife also accepts my need to play as long as I don't fall in love and come back home to her. Its much much less stressful that way!

Good advice, Some mongers will never understand this, they get off on the deception more than the sex itself. Repeatedly getting away with deceiving someone gets them off makes them feel good knowing that they are "cheating" for whatever reason. In all my arrangements I always have the conversation about the non monogamous situation. They get compensated well for staying and possibly get their whole families needs taken care of if they are not able to understand my personal needs they aren't a good fit and I move on and keep fucking until I find one that has some foresight. There is no reason to sneak around unless you get off on it. You can find a women that fits your needs if you are brave / open enough to discuss it.

6 to 8 hours is plenty of time to hook-up.

I used to do 3-4 hours back on 2020 for like 6 months. I don't do it that much now since I have more free time when my living partner goes to her hometown for 4-5 days to do something important or because I'm traveling alot mostly with her or alone (I have to come up with a good excuse for that one of course).

My routine on 2020 was, like Westcoast suggest it, go online and set-up dates, make sure the girl will arrived before you, tell her that you have work to do (in my case working online on my laptop) and that's why you will be late, of course tell them this when they left their place already (they should always leave before you, specially since they go by jeepney and you go by taxi).

Then once you know she is there or in her way close to the meeting place. You tell your partner (or wife), I'm going for a run or I'm going to the gym, the great thing about these two excuses, is that you can do this everyday or any day and at different times, she won't get suspicious about it. And this works perfect for day dates, it could also work at nights too, but not too late, the latest I used this excuse was 10 pm.

Another thing, is better to use the I'm going to run excuse more than the gym excuse, because she might go to the gym and look for you, or ask you which gym you go to, and you will have doubts if she will show up. It happened to me twice, she show up at the gym and text me where I was, I told her I was in the gym and then decided to go for a run. Not sure if she believe me or not, but she was fine with my excuse. The other time she shows up in the place I run most of the time, of couse I told her that I went to run in another place (is important to have at least 2 or 3 places that you run), that's more believable since people usually have multiple places to run in case they get bored of the same place.

Once you meet the girl try to have a short but very meaningful date, meaning try to connect with her ASAP, time is your biggest enemy in this type of dates. 1-2 hours should be enough for you to bring up the discussion about taking her to a short hotel.

The way I did it was to ask her: Do you want to come to my place? If she says yes, then I will say: Oh shit! I remember my landlord doesn't allow me to bring guess anymore, since last time I bring a group of friends they got drunk and started making noises and left the place a mess. Trust me they will be believe you.

When you bring up the short hotel, of course she will ask you why there, my excuse was always because I want some privacy so we can chill more freely and have bonding experience, we can drink and listen to music (I always had drinks and my speaker on my schoolbag), I can teach you how to dance salsa or you want me to teach you here in front of strangers. LOL. Say things that you can do with her without mentioning sex of course, I know is hard to believe that, but if you distract her enough and if she trust you enough she will say Yes. If she is tipsy is better but during the day is hard to make them tipsy. In their minds they know if they go to a short hotel they will have sex, so you got to present it in a way that is not too obvious, because at that point she already like you, and she is just deciding if she want to have sex on the first date or make you wait abit.

Some girls will say I don't have sex in the first date, then just try it on the second date which I guaranteed you she will say Yes.

If she doesn't want to go to the short hotel cut the date short (come up with an excuse), and then call one of your friends / mistress (some one who is waiting you for a short notice sex, they need to know you have a partner and be ok with it), is good to have afew of those girls as back-up plan, and is better if she lives close by. In your case since you have a longer time (6 to 8 hours) then you can set up a second date.

Once the sex is done and you got to go back to your partner, even though you took a good shower in the short hotel, chances are she can smell sex from your clothes or your body, so what I do is I go to one of the street food vendors and buy chicken / pork grill barbecue (my favorite). I stay close to the vendor so the smell of grill meat stays in my body and clothes. With this technique she will never smell you had sex.

I had many times had sex with my dates and then 1-2 hours later I had sex with my living partner, and she never notice it once.

Even when she does the laundry the grill smell will stay in your clothes for days.

The more you do this the better you will get, the better you will become at recognizing which girl is ready for you to take her to the short hotel. I recommend the girls you think will say Yes to meet them in your run days, the girls you are not sure will say Yes to meet then on your gym days, that way if your partner ends up going to the gym and text you where you are, it will be easier to ditch off your date and go meet your partner.

Set-up dates everyday, and make sure your partner knows that you workout and run everyday at different times depending of your work schedule or whatever you are busy with.

Doing this I was able to hook-up with 2 to 4 girls every week while I was living with my living partner.

I know some hater out there will say why are you advocating cheating. Well he asked that question, so that means he will do it anyways.

Remember cheating in Philippines is very normal, you see it in movies, I see it in the family members of my living partner when they openly talk about a family member being with mistress number 2 or mistress number 3, or comparing themselves how many mistress they had, one had 9 and with 7 of them he had kids, LOL.

There is a reason short hotels are very popular here in Philippines. So I'm just following the culture here.

Plus the more important thing is when I do it, I do it very discreet, I easily cancel dates or plans, I always choose my partner first.

I know eventually I will stop this hobby, but I got to enjoy it while it last.

I would highly advise taking a bus direct to olongapo (freeport).

For most that travel there, they use the cheapest transportation, therefore it is crowded and uncomfortable, but more than likely you will spend the few hundred to ride in 5 star comfort. Those buses are never full, and it is very comfortable to travel in.

The only problem I see is the time you arrive, as I don't know the bus schedules. Worst case scenario you can always just catch a private car or taxi direct, however the fee will be around 4K


I don't recall anything direct from the airport, but you can catch a taxi to the bus terminal in pasay or buendia.

After an epic struggle with Swiss Air who I will never book with again I'm landing in NAIA at 15.30 and I need to get to Olongopo.

I've been advised by my Filipina that it's better if I head straight to Dau bus terminal rather than attempt to take a bus from Pasay or Cubao as she said they will be too crowded and crazy. Although there are regular buses from Pasay which I'd easily make.

From what I found online there seems to be a Genesis bus from NAIA at 1700 or 1730.

Question, does anyone know what time the last bus from Dau to Olongopo is or failing that how much a taxi would a taxi cost? Or is getting a bus from Pasay really that bad? Please advise me.

The AC / Subic taxi / private car mafia is pretty aggressive. This won't affect your safety but it does mean that the price from AC to Subic will be only slightly less than one direct from Manila. Don't quote me because it was long ago but I think the last car I took from Subic to AC was about 3 k. That price may have radically changed due to COVID, low business's etc. If it was me, if I was to include a car, I wouldn't use it for part of the journey. Full door to door would be much easier and likely cheaper over all anyway.

I have taken some pretty late busses from Dau to Subic, arriving late into the night. Certainly much later than the times you have mentioned.
