Or maybe the "improving" Philippine economy has kept many of the "better" ones off the market. Obesity and motherhood are not new to the Philippines, so perhaps they're merely symptoms of a changing market rather than the cause of its decline.

I don't think it has improved much at all. Looks worse than ever to me, even if they did manage to kill thousand of so-called undesirables.

I'll believe the economy improved when taxis use the meter and some of the 1/10 of the country's population that ran overseas for greener pastures goes home.

Thanks to those who gave input on my SW query around Carriedo. I've stayed in the Philippines before for several months at a time and had some good times with streetwalkers in Cebu, I thought it would be something to check out while in in town. I've had a wacky few days in Manila, my first day I knocked a pedicab driver silly for lunging at me, witnessed by a cop and other pedestrians near Robinsons. I had to pick him up off the street and move him to the side to keep him from walking back into traffic. The cop just motioned for me to carry on and leave him so I got out of there as quickly as I could. I looked over as I was walking away and saw the cop standing over him saying something, he did not look too concerned. My first stop was LA, early evening and as expected, I did not really dig the vibe in there so I sat around for a few minutes pretending to read the menu and left.

I had a quick beer at a 711 and wandered around the area a bit before heading out to Carriedo area and the nearby Rizal and Recto streets to check out SW action.

The first one I found outside Kamagong Hotel, close to the LRT exit, was chubby, petite with good legs, not a bad looker with long black hair but clearly with a bit of a gut. She had a mamasan, I negotiated 400 from 500 and had to follow her through some nearby alleys into a local neighborhood with small st guesthouse. It was a shitty room with no ac, the type people use for sex or to do drugs in. Mattress was uncovered vinyl type cushion, wooden door with latch lock and very dim light hanging from a wire on the ceiling. I paid 150 for the room, the woman out front gave us a key and some folded tissues. There was a separate toilet that had no light.

Despite being well lit, I was a bit worried about the neighborhood and how deep it was from the main thoroughfare, I had taken all the precautions before this trip to pack anything too expensive, clothes, sandals, packed an older camera body and lens combo but on the morning of my flight I had absent mindedly put on my breitling with a rubber strap, similar in feel to the Garmin watch I had bought and charged the day before. I thought about leaving it in the room safe but decided to just wear it, moving it to my belt loop when going to shifty places like this.

Right as we were getting started, there was a knock on the door, mamasan had followed us and demanded a tip of 50 pesos. I relented a bit but didn't feel like making a thing of it, so I gave it to her and told her to go away. At this point I had opened my folding knife I carry with me and put it down on the little table and covered it with a handkerchief ready in case something popped off.

I was charged another 50 for the condom by the girl, her attitude had changed and she was hurrying me and swore a lot. She was quite tight and despite not taking her top off, I was sufficiently turned on. Probably better that she kept it on as I am not a fan of girls with flabby stomachs. Anyway, the heat and the whole situation just made it hard to cum. Add to that after about 3 minutes she kept hurrying me even more and complained when I asked for a position change, we argued a bit before resuming but not without her continuing to swear and try to rush me. After about 8 minutes, I still could not cum she complained again and started to get up. I usually try to find SW action when I visit a place but this was quite a shitty experience, not at all like the ones in Cebu 15 years ago. No other options at the time so I bit. This time we went to a short time hotel near the main roads. Paid 200 pesos for two hours, the room was not much better but it had an AC and bed covers (torn and not fully on covering the bed). She tried to get me to go in with her to buy some meth afterwards, talking all sorts of shit about good stuff available nearby and all that plus extra sex and how she didn't charge me 50 for the condom etc.

Not great experiences but I had to try. Not a whole lot of options that I saw on the three or four days I went by, mostly chubby girls, late 20's and up, sometimes I passed by the area and there was nobody available. Maybe my timing was off or maybe action there is not as good as it once was.

I went back to LA during my stay and had some wechat and a tinder girl which I'll write about next.

I know all about how it is best to go at night time etc etc but some guys are interested in day-time activity.

Place was packed for a Tuesday, and women outnumbered guys by at least 3 to 1.

Unfortunately, smoking is allowed in the cafe and so there was a blue haze over everything.

I did a quick lap, mentally calculating the average score across the female clientele as between 3 and 4 (and I am not terribly choosy).

The mathematicians amongst you know that an average of 3 to 4 means there were probably some 5's and 6's around but they were balanced by the 1's or 2's.

I decided to sit down and have a beer and see if anything changed, as I thought it couldn't possibly get worse.

I was wrong. Within 5 minutes I watched a few of the 6's leave and the average plummeted to 3.

I fled, coughing and wheezing from the smoke and left a half-filled beer.

That's probably my 2019 LAC visit under my belt.
