I mainly focus on PlanB and Kojax when I am in Burgos area. It is by far the bars with the best looking girls. But I keep scratching my head for the pricing. The bars in Burgos are all fronts for other activities. This is pretty well known. And to answer your question on the death knell for Burgos, NO SIR, the place is alive and kicking, possibly even thriving. On any given day PlanB is packed wall to wall with punters having a great time. Girls at Kojax share duties with XOXO. Kojax is open on TFS. And XOXO operates on SMTW. I don't know why. I asked one waitress during my last trip and she grinned at me like I asked her a question on advanced calculus.

The logic for price is simple. Discerning customers will pay a premium for value. Do you get to buy a Porsche at a 40% discount because the showroom is empty when you walked in?

Burgos St Bars and the EDSA Entainment Complex are a good 30 minutes apart by TAXI at 9 pm. So it is feasible to stay in Makati or near the bay and do both, but I prefer to divide my time in two when I am visiting Metro Manila and book 1/2 my time in a Makati Hotel near Burgos Street and 1/2 my time in a Malate or Pasay hotel near the EDSA bars.

As to pricing: RTFF. EDSA bars are less expensive than most Burgos Street bars. In both locales, a punter normally has to pay a barfine to the bar before take out and then roughly the same amount to the girl for ST after the session is over. This makes Manila Go Go's more expensive than AC Go Go's, but I prefer Manila girls over AC girls any day of the week so, C'est la vie.
