Can anyone let me know what is the best area in Manila to spend a day or two. I will be in the Philippines in April '10 and would like to spend couple of days before continuing on to Angeles. Last time I was in Manila in '07 I spend some time in I think the area was called Malate or something like that. At the time I didn't know about this forum and I had no info on Manila at all. A cab driver took me to I think the LA Cafe where I hooked up with a FL and that is about all I saw from manila before going to Angeles with the fly the bus.

I see that Makati is one of the areas that sees a lot of action, Ermita (is this the area around the La Cafe?) seems to be another. Which is better? Is there anything in Manila like Angeles where you have wall to wall clubs? Can anyone suggest a good hotel that is GF friendly?

Also beside fly the bus is there any other way to get to angeles?

Anyone have the e mail address of the Southern Cross Hotel in Ermita. Not the fanciest place, but has a great location and a good bar/resteraunt.

Seems like its original web site is abandoned.

Coppacabanna or Heritage is close, with EDSA complex right across the street.

I'll be in Manila for about 1 1/2 days and I have a very early flight out in the morning. I need some recommendations for hotels that are close to the nightlife/action but not to far from the airport.

And for the 7th and last time this year will be arriving in Manila very soon. Flights getting very full now as all the balikbayans head home for the hols.

But got a seat, and schedule all arranged.

Thursday will be a regular. 30 years old no kids, only this time she has a schoolgirl outfit to show me she says. She also likes back door action. Great gal. Gets tearful if I give her a CD and toblerone. A very nice overnight companion.

Friday will be working, but will see an ex Tickles lady. Very funny lady, 22 and has one kid. Shes agreed to go to a motel with me as long as its only manual or oral. In return for some trashy and cheap bikinis I got for her. And the obligatory toblerone.

Saturday, Ms Pampanga 24 will be appearing. Haven't seen her since Typhoon Ondong flooded her house and workplace and shes been in a world of hard times since then. 3 hours on a bus to meet me, will result in her being screwed, videoed, probably spanked and maybe covered in chocolate sauce. She will of course bring the nurses uniform. She will in turn get books (likes to read) and some cash and moree tobler bloody rone.

She will also no doubt get naked in car, as she has done in past on the way to Sogo. She just likes to grin and bare. So if you see a toyota camry with naked gal in it. Might also be me. Will be in Burgos sat night too.

Sunday am. Have two or three possibles, depends who first answers the sms I send. The last trip of 2009. Looking forward to a whole new year of adventures!

If you have the money, stay at Heritage Hotel across from EDSA Entertainment Complex. Hotel is expensive, but near airport and can walk to EDSA. Taxi to LA cafe is less than 100pesos. Taxi to Airport One is cheap also. If you want cheaper hotel, Palm Plaza or one of the sister hotels is within walking distance to LA cafe and Robinson's Mall. If you are leaving before 8am, no traffic.

The little vendor stalls in the middle area between Padre Faura and Adriatico wings are gone, as CS notes, and that's sort of disappointing. Some of the women in these stalls always seemed to me to be on the sell themselves.

You will be pleased to note that the come hither young female vendors and their stalls have just been shunted off to a nearby designated area called the Festival Circle, although circle is a bit of a misnomer as it is more a dusty corner!

Considering that it is so close to Xmas, there seemed to be very few FLs around in Robinsons Mall. Maybe the paramilitary style mall security force is being extra vigilant this holiday season.

Lots of new FLs in LAC though, trying to make some extra cash for Xmas. I met this tall, willowy 20 year old 'student', who had a smoking hot body and a good attitude. Her CP No was immediately taken for future use. She told me that, at her college, she had several friends who were keen to meet foreigners to make some extra cash. Hmmm..very interesting.

Houziwang great reply to Bajuaku interesting to see if the advice will be listen to. Been going to Phil over 10 years and see this frequently. Guys with wife or girl friend meet Phil girl find love get caught or bring home a std then blame the Phils girls. They make the choice and then try to past the blame. No talking to them but lets see what happens.

Now, I need opinions on the following from seasoned mongers:

1. Should I stay put in AC and enjoy the delicacies there? Or should I head to Manila and enjoy my stay with previous BF? She seemed to enjoy me very much and we still talk over the phone every fortnight.

2. What would be a valid reason for me to go there? My nature of work does not require to travel internationally and I do not want the wife to smell something fishy!

Not sure where you hail from, or your exact circumstances, but I'll give you a somewhat different reply, on assumption you are a westerner and are traveling halfway around the world to pursue this.

You've heard all the good excuses for going to the PI, but unless you make these excuses real, nobody with common sense is going to buy it. If you say you want to go scuba diving, you need to take classes, and make a number of dive outings in your local area. Make diving a real part of your life. The same goes with the other excuses - you have to make them real, so that even to yourself they are real, or they won't be real to anyone.

Most people know, or figure out fast enough, that men don't travel alone to the PI just to take in some sights. Now maybe your spouse doesn't want to know the truth and is grateful that you throw her the bone of a lie. In a best case scenario she accepts the lie, and reinforces it to friends and relatives, because she herself wants to keep up appearances and not rock the boat. If you are so lucky to have such a wife, I envy you.

More likely though, you have to prepare for the inevitable confrontation when those around you challenge your excuses. If indeed you've fallen in love with the Filipina GFE, you need to begin thinking seriously about how this could potentially turn your life upside down.

My money says you are not going to successfully get away with a charade. Your two worlds will collide, sooner rather than later. Maybe that is good, maybe bad. Anyway, I just thought the discussion was a tad bit deluded ...
