I am advised by those in the industry, that some baggage handlers take great pleasure in unloading luggage marked "Priority" or something similar last. I always travel business and my luggage is generally tagged as priority, but there is certainly no difference from what I can see.

One of the great frustrations of flying, but hey it's a first world problem in a third world country.

Arrived January 15th MNL, terminal 3, 10 pm. No problem with on time arrival. Passport control had long lines. Wait was about 20 minutes.

I arrived January 15th MNL Terminal 3. I was first off the plane and first in line at Immigration.

Good news ends there.

It took ONE HOUR and FIVE MINUTES (65 f**g minutes) for my bag to come out on the carousel. They have a video monitor now of the baggage handlers unloading the trolleys and hurling bags on to the carousel. There was no action at all for around 15 minutes, then a couple of young guys stroll into view. 2 trolleys arrive and the guys take forever to undo the straps and start loading bags. I kid you not; the trolleys arrived very haphazardly and my bag (marked priority) came out after 65 minutes. I don't know what the problem was. I assume it was too few baggage handlers, trolleys etc for the backlog of flights after the volcano closed the airports.

Luckily I got a Grab car within 5 minutes of emerging from T3 but then it took a further 115 minutes to get home to my condo.

All up. Sydney to Manila = 7 hours 30 min. T3 to home = 3 hours.

Got baggage and was at Genesis bus at 10:40 pm for 11:00 pm departure. Arrived in AC at 1:00 am.

BTW, Genesis has moved to the median strip in front of Bay 11. No longer at Bay 14.

Got ready to get a Grab car and go to Abaca Spa in Malate. Figured I should check Manila Tonight for any specials. Guess what. That location is apparently closed due to building ownership problems. Any suggestions for alternatives in the same area? Anyone with experience at SOTA massage or Spa Hiroshima?

Anyone there right now advice reg. The volcano? Is it really bad at the moment? Have a trip next week Mon-Sun to Ang / Manilla planned but can still cancel. Is it still worth going or is the air really bad?

I'm in Malate. Have not noticed anything different. A girl I was banging lives in Imus and they got ash and rocks on the street there, but it is a fair way from Manila.

If it were me, I would change my plans. You don't want to get stuck here for weeks if the volcano really kicks into gear. Something similar happened in Iceland a few years back. Although I suppose they would reroute some flights out of Clark if they could.

Same thing happens with the volcano near Bali. Flights status can change on an hourly basis. There is a level of risk involved even if it appears dormant. Lots of people get stuck there went it suddenly re-activates.

According to my sister-in-law who lives just south of Manila International Airport, they are getting very light ash. They are just 50 kilometers north of the volcano. The airport has been closed and opened. I don't know the status right now.

I know some girls I have met through PL. Some even live in Cavite. They are not complaining about the ash issues right now. Although it seems the masks in the local pharmacies have been sold out. I think you should rather see the warnings in the news and make your decision. If I were you I will postpone as I don't trust the emergency response and support may not be same as the first world country.

Maybe you could write reviews in your home town, or the other places you have researched and visited. How can we recommend places if we don't know what makes you happy.

Yet another FYI: If you are totally stuck on getting authentic nuru, go to Bangkok and go to DokiDoki or Chrome Bar. Both are quite good.

Another FYI: From everything I've read, Abaca Spa and Flight 168 Massage (soapie) are pretty much sure things. You might want to just focus on those. I've been focusing on Burgos and escorts, but plan to try the others later in this trip.
