And further: There is little in the culture that requires clarity of public information (much in the same way that Spanish time allows you to ignore punctuality). There might be other reasons also.
* A number of things are very unclear in Philippines. Addresses to start (your hotel or other places might have no fixed address, making them hard to find by your taxi driver; its best to know a nearby landmark to guide the driver to your hotel's area). Government rules and regulations: You show up at a government office to find that its closed this week for an unofficial holiday (while showing open on Google Maps); or that you must have previously obtained documents L and M in order to do your biz there, but nobody told you that when you called them on the phone to inquire (nor is it listed on their website). Businesses close around holidays (or for no apparent reason), sometimes a week or so in advance and a week after, with no known publication and no way for you to know they are closed until you arrive (they might not have a phone number for you to call). A local person near the closed business might say something like this to you: "You try back next week, Tuesday or Wednesday maybe". Maybe? Why not Monday? "Not sure when they will reopen. They will reopen when their employees come back". Isn't there a set day or date for the return? "Hahahaha". Your local McDonalds stops serving a particular food (say, french fries, or coffee); you ask the manager when they will serve it again, as its been 3 weeks. "I don't know. Never maybe". Shouldn't you remove it from the menu? "What?" or "Corporate won't allow me to tell the customers we don't serving that anymore". When a business is about to close temporarily (or forever), or change its business hours, the manager will not think (or he might not have access to) to change the hours or such in Google maps. In fact during Covid, when 90%+ of all businesses were closed (for months and months), not one of the Google Maps businesses in my city showed they were closed. You show up at the business because Maps shows it open, to find it closed. A local says to you: "They closed 8 months ago". Hungry, you find a Jollibee on the Map, a pleasant 300 m from your hotel. You ask at the front desk of your hotel if there is a Jollibee at that location on your map, and they confirm it for you. You walk or taxi to the Jollibee, to discover it has completely burned to the ground. A local tells you it burned 7 months ago. Eight months ago you had a good massage rub-and-tug at a location, and you see on Maps that its open 24 hours. You taxi back today and find its been closed for 5 months or more. Its a holiday (official or not), and traffic is bad near the schools. You ask the locals if the schools are closed for today. Half will say yes, half will say no. You ask a gaggle of police (standing outside at a substation) the same question, and half will say yes and half will say no. The schools are in fact closed, but there is no notice for that on their website (s). You show up at your business, wait in line 20 minutes to make a purchase, to find that they don't accept CC today (but before, yes). When you inquire if maybe they should put up a sign saying the CC / Debit system is down today, they will look at you like YOU are the one from another planet. If you had to wait in line at your local McDonald's in your country for 20 minutes for a burger / fries / coke, only to find out they don't have any burgers today (or this week), you'd be pissed off that they didn't post a sign, right? Not so in Phils, the locals just walk away to find another McDo or Jollibee.
AND SO ON.
We feel your pain. However, I'd like to posit the following, and old guard who live here please weigh in if I am wrong. Information is not only wildly lacking (or its there, but not correct -- misinformation) on the Internet, but also among the population. In your case you are looking for sex info. In your previous countries its there on the Internet. In this country its not usually there, and should it be there, you have no way to know if its correct, or current. Also within the culture, its extremely common for businesses to disappoint you with: Business is closed, product unavailability, extremely long wait lines, price change, form of payment non-acceptance, and so on. You would think in the days of FB (pinoy are hooked on FB), slapping up public info about your biz / org would be easy and common. Its easy, but its not common.
My analysis: You, and recently other gents, have made me realize that there is a large pool of foreigners using YT and other sources of info, and either not finding it, or finding misinformation. That's not a surprise here. Phils is a tough nut to crack. Like many of us before you, you will have to come here (if you dare), scout out those massage places on foot (and word of mouth after arrival), and then please post a report here so the gents will know where you found good / bad service. However, to the future gents after you, I must say that such businesses don't advertise much, change locations, and they come in / go out / come back in as businesses regularly. Its possible that you would come here, scout out massage places, not find much you like, and have to resort to Burgos or AC.
The only Holy Grail you will find info here is about Burgos, AC, and LA Cafe. And even then things change between the time you read it and the time you arrive.

Posts: 289And yes, I did scour Philippine Addicts, HappyBudgetMeal, SingleManForum. Maybe PinayWalkerLounge is the magical website I seek, but it requires payment in some local e-currency. Manila is a tough nut to crack beyond the obvious Burgos bars and LA Cafe.

There are full service massage places and a website called Manila Tonight, which has massage parlors reviews, but they are mostly in Tagalog and many or most of the massage places are merely hand job only.
From what I was able to tease out, it appears that White House, SunriseFrictio, and Classique are considered the best, but you can't even find them readily on Google maps, they don't seem to have websites, and I have no real idea what the pricing and services are. If anyone has more info, I would be happy to hear it.
Manila is very odd: Very expensive bargirls on Burgos, moderately expensive escorts on Manila Courtesans and Smooci, very secretive full service massage places which I have to act like a private detective to find, and no clear website for independent girls. Bizarre. Pinalove is apparently a waste of time, Locanto is outdated. Maybe Facebook "walker" groups or Tinder? Where the heck do the locals look for fresh independents online? Telegram groups? Are the full service massage places a good option? How much are they? It's all mysterious, unlike Thailand or Brazil or pretty much anywhere. Is there a local website for independents or for reviews or for massage parlor advertising? Why is Manila so opaque? I feel like I'm missing the one website that will open the lock.

Posts: 289I haven't been to the Philippines since before COVID, but there are two places I know of that might interest you. One is "Starfleet", which is a fishbowl type place, which masquerades as "massage", but is mostly full service. The other is Abacca in Makati, which is a classic massage with happy ending, only hand job no BJ or full service. Their specialty is prostate massage along with the hand job. If others out there can pipe up and mention more, especially in the Makati area, I would be grateful. Heading there soon.

I have recently moved to the Ph (3 months) and one of the things I am missing from my previous countries are massage parlors where you could get HEs or full services. Anything here in Manila area? I have seen numerous ads about services offered in hotel / condo but all of these look dicey from 2 counts: 1. My last experience. Got conned by a 'not a girl' who then had somebody call me up as an agent and ripped more money off me. Fortunately I had met up in one of those book by the hour motels. And 2. Don't want a scene at my condo or get into a situation where it gets embarassing as my work colleagues live in the same condo.
I'm also open to having a regular 'friend' who I can meet up with discreetly but really want to avoid the person coming up and living with me as my GF.
Any suggestions? If anyone has any tried and non scam tested recommendations, will be happy to receive a connect on my DM. Can reciprocate or be a wingman to any of you who have been here for long.

Prices are set by what the market will bear. Complaining about prices is like complaining about the weather. If it bothers you, you have to move on to another market.
When / if I retire in Phils, I will never barfine again. I'll have the time to settle into a rotation of non-pros. But until then, you pay market prices.

This is the general complaint about the Burgos bars: They are expensive. However, since its a decades-long profitable enterprise, there is a solid market for it. Like Goferring, for the sake of convenience, I have on occasion just walked into a Burgos bar where I know the girls, and barfined one on the spur of the moment, paid the additional (FL would have been cheaper), just for convenience. You were sure at the time of getting an evening and morning bonk (as the morning tip is for LT and good service). Could have gotten that also for half the price (or less) if had I wanted to put in that effort.
Also the Burgos bars are the go-to organization for gents who don't want to have to put effort into the thing. They are not interested in the Tinder process of getting a girl on cam and interviewing several until they find one they like, then meeting her for coffee in order to decide if she is worth it. In a gogo, you skip the video and coffee sessions as the girl is on display in front of you in a bikini, her tummy and wares already on display. Also some warriors make the case here that the bar scene (pub crawl, perving, desire to chat up / feel up ladies over LD's -- regardless of whether they barfine in that particular bar) really IS their thing.
I'm not making the case that anyone should utilize the gogos there. I am making the case that many warriors literally think of gogos as the defining thing to do in town. They have the money, and older / fugly SW (and the online meet process) are not for them. As such, $180 USD is not out of line. If he's in town for 2 weeks, he might well barfine 10 of the 14 nights (even a good vaxxing doctor like myself must have a rest day here and there), or he might barfine 7 nights and Tinder 3 nights. Its just another option.
As in every large city anywhere, low-end FL for 2000. Dating site or Tinder FL PYT's available for p3000-5000. Gogo girls p10 k. Smoochi and escort girls for more. And much higher-end FL available for multiples of p10 k per hour (even rich Pinoy pay that for high-end private service). Everything is there, but warriors are usually going for the easiest catch for their budget. For cheap-charlies that is Burgos SW, and for gents with a budget the easiest convenient place is a gogo bar.

And that's both in and outside the bars.
Would I spend 8 to 10 k every night? Definitely not. However, Burgos remains the only place in PI where I routinely barfine girls when I feel like a cheat night. Says a lot about the place and girls when you consider I'm a Cheap Charlie and consider cute online girls for 3 k LT as fully priced. 😁.
I'd totally agree about the cut price out of hours opportunities after the first barfine. It's a shame that the days of buy one get one free from hookers are well and truly beyond me now that I've put on so many years and pounds. 😭.
Enjoy. G.

The other Burgos joy is getting gogo girls to come to your place outside of the barfine system (afternoon delight), as cost is about 1/3 of the barfine amount. However this can be time-consuming, and its not convenient for the warrior.

Went to some dive KTV bars on airport road in Manila the other day. First and last time I'll head over there but it was interesting being the only foreigner in the place. Beer prices were all in the 90 peso range, some were buy 2 for 159 type of deals. Hole in the wall bars sums it up pretty much, guess there are some higher quality Korean places up the road a ways but I just hit the cheap joints. Didn't partake although there were a few cuties here and there, was more of just something new to see. If you search for airport road on google then search for the McDonalds and streetview walk west you'll see the bars. Mamasans were pushy, not many customers most of the night I'm guessing. The foreigner pricing was also pretty heavy handed. We'd be quoted 350 for a ladys drink and then see two Filipinos buy two girls drinks. My guess would be the lady drinks for the Filipinos would be closer to 120. Was quoted 4000 upstairs plus a few lady drinks then on the way out the mamasan said 2500 but by then it was too late. It was an interesting evening followed by overpriced Burgos girls wanting 10 k. Manila is a fun place for a short visit but I sure wouldn't want to live there.
