Had a midnightish flight out of NAIA 1 tonight to USA and it lived up to each and every article I have read about it this week. It was an utter clusterf*k. Hundreds of people outside for no apparent reason upon getting dropped off. Guys wanting bribes because "long lines 4 hours sir." Of course I left my phone, keys and glasses in my pants pocket before going through the metal detector at the terminal door. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. No ding, no ping, wala and I had a bigger patdown search leaving National Bookstore before going to the airport than I did at the airport.

Inside was indecipherable. At least 1, 000 people and lines in every direction. It was 49 minutes of standing in line to check in. Filipinos and lines. Wow the Spanish really screwed those people up. Out of the blue a KAL girl walks up to me while there were at least a dozen more people ahead of me, opens the ribbon and says "Window 46 sir." I could've kissed her. She left all the Filipinos ahead of me standing there. I left them in the dust.

I haven't had that kind of problem at Terminal 1 for about two years now. I actually think things are a lot better there now. Immigration lines both ways have been smaller and quicker. I haven't had any long lines checking into the airlines lately at all. I have seen it busy outside. A lot of people just seem to be out there and not traveling, not sure. Two times I have been out there when there has been crazy lines, I was looking near the doors that lead to the first security check and a security guard has ushered me in past all the locals into the security check because I was a foreigner. I have been going there 3-4 times a year now for awhile.

Crazy two days.

KAL or PAL is the cheapest airline you can fly maybe not I think Asiana is cheaper now, I fly with Cathay pacific they have 6 flight a day to HKG never have to wait I am a Marco Polo member so no line at NAIA ever and I can relax at the business Lounge only one hr stop over at HKIA back to the US. I will never fly PAL or KAL unless I have business at Seoul.

Thanks for the advice Mr. Moneybags but the flight from ORD to HKIA or vice versa is a true ball buster. I don't like it at all. In fact, I hate it. This was the first time I ever had to wait for KAL in Manila and I never have to wait for them in ORD. Pick up and drop off at ORD are also much easier as KAL is in the smallish international terminal.

Pnoy should put on a disguise and try to navigate that shit hole, especially if he has to take a leak. If the king of Jordan could drive a cab, Pnoy can try to catch a flight out of Terminal 1. Now I'm sitting in Incheon on a 5 hour layover. I couldn't do 5 hours in Terminal 1. Another reason why they don't let foreigners have guns. BTW, a gun would have easily passed through security too were somebody so disposed because the frigg'and metal detector at the door was broken! Guy coming in from Dumaguete said the metal detector at that dinky little airport was broken too.

Incheon was in the top 5 in the world. If you haven't been here, try it sometime. If you've got to be in an airport in this part of the world, this is a good place to be.

I am recently widowed and now looking back to being in the market (My Ex was Filippina). I remember my first time to the Philippines was in 1998.
