I recently closed my older account and opened a new one in dateinasia. Com. IF you want a particular site that requires a phone number, then it's an easy fix. Use the Textfree with voice program either on your smartphone or on the internet. Use a temporary phone number to receive the confirmation text. Or just make up a Gmail account (which I used) to verify your dateinasia account.

Can you explain how this is an easy fix using the internet when they require a cell phone confirmation?

Doesn't DIA require a Cell # to confirm account? They did last time I tried to create an account after I was kicked off. I think I resonded badly to too many lady boys and got booted.

When I lived in Manila from 1998 for a few years, I was often in Maskara (was called KC bar previously ). They had a nice little dark curtained corner that was great for "activities". There was a long haired girl who I often took for said activities. Last time I saw her was 2002. Today I get message from her. She had seen my pic in DIA and remembered me " with fondness". Makes a man feel good to know his fumblings in the dark meant something. LOL

I live in Ortigas Center and it is not a good place for hunting unless you have the game to go after very young and naive shop girls in the 4 large malls within walking distance of Richmonde Hotel (Shangri-la Plaza, SM Megamall, Podium and Robinson's Galleria). Some guys say they have picked up girls in these malls (particularly Megamall) , but I think they exaggerate a bit and as someone who spends a lot of time in these malls, I would say the odds are very low unless you are Brad Pitt (I am George Clooney and it doesn't work for me LOL).

There are no bars with girls in Ortigas Center, but you are only a 120 to 150 peso taxi ride from Burgos Street or Greenbelt in Makati.

You should have added that Megamall on a Sunday indicates the need for immediate birth control in Phils. It is a teeming mass of humanity, moving in all directions with a multitude of children in tow. The car park is already full by 10am and the restaurants have waiting lines outside from 11am (eating being an important part of malling).

How a monger could pick up in that atmosphere I don't know. Alothugh a frotterist could have a great time. Imagine a football stadium opening its gates at the end of a match and thats how Megamall is on a Sunday.

Allthough I once met a virgin in the bowling alley there and the Kamagong Inn in Pasay took care of that little problem.

In general, I agree.

However, there are exceptions (read my recent post on this matter). When you are a stanger, in a stange land, an abundance of caution is usually in order, especially for newbies.

Although I rarely take taxis in Manila, as I have my own wheels, on the ocassions that I do, then please remember to always have change. I took a P200 ride to the airport recently, gave the guy a P1000 and his sighs, moans, groans and general suplado-ness would have made a fishmonger proud. For 5 minutes he rabbitted on about how I the passenger was taking all his change. The fact he could only find p700 in change was neither here nor there. Keep those crumpled notes, they are useful. LOL

I'm traveling to Manila in oct for the first time and will stay at the Richmonde Hotel near the SM Megamall.

Is this a good place for hunting? And is the hotel girlfriendly?

Richmonde Hotel is heavily used for government seminars and workshops etc and has good security. I have been there many times but only during the day for training events and I have not seen many tourists or guys with companions.

It is definitely not on the regular mongering list. If you book a double room then I doubt that anything will be said to you unless you pick up an obvious hooker. I have never heard of any girls hanging around that hotel. It is a good 5-minute walk from Megamall.

Look, you have your opinion and we have ours. Some don't like being ripped off no matter what the amount is. If you like being treated as a walking doormat and ATM then by all means good for you. But, even the Filipinos I've met don't like being ripped off.
