Three weeks ago I was in LA Cafe. Met a cute chick with too much makeup on. I asked to see her pictures without makeup because I am a natural beauty kind of guy. She pulled out her phone and on the lockscreen there was a picture of her and an old ass White guy. I said oh that is your boyfriend huh? She said no. It was a guy that she met in LA Cafe. He took 3 girls and somehow she ended up getting a phone out of the deal. (And to think that I only give them a fair amount of cash.) She said he put the picture there.

I ordered my usual wings and shared them with her and some other random older lady. I also bought them drinks. I am a nice guy sometimes. I had no intention of taking anyone. I had to get to the salon to get my nails done and facial, then my main girl was coming later when she got off work.

There was a girl at the table next to ours that clearly was not old enough. I asked the ladies how old did they think she was. She had put a bunch of clown makeup on to try to look older, but all it did was make her look like a kid with a bunch of makeup on.

I traded whatsapp with the chick I was talking to. She lives in Cavite. She said it is about 2 hours away. Later that night she was sending me messages asking if I wanted to see her. Fast forward and I told her I would be in Manila today and asked if she wanted to come see me. She said sure. I remember in LA Cafe she told me that she gets 2500. Well I have never given out that kind of money. So I verified with her how much I needed to give her. She said 2500. I told her that was too much. She said 2000. I said that is good. Mood ruined by negotiating as usual. I am in the Grab on the way to the hotel. I told her to meet me there at 4. With the rain here, I am sure it will take longer. 4:22 and she just sent me a message to say she was still in the bus. So 2000 pesos for about 14 hours with a chick. I will say it worked out well for both parties. Sure beats that 4000 that a mamasan in AC told me that I would have to give her for her to come.

I am curious why no one has suggested going to a five-star hotel for one of its buffets. Although I don't have first-hand experience here, I did go to the Diamond Hotel quite by accident one evening on Valentines day past. I checked out the buffet and it had everything you could possibly want by way of seafood and more. I think it was priced at 3000 pesos per head and that was a special evening. I do have experience with hotel buffets in other locales (the Shangrila in Shenzhen was the best with action stations for spaghetti, shawarmas, and would you believe Philly cheese steaks.) and I would think that Manila has a hotel buffet with safe all you can eat oysters.

Although I have not tried, learnt that buffets offered by Spirals at Sofitel and Circles at Shangri-La are supposedly the best with wide spreads of diverse cuisine. Should plan to check out one of them in next trip!

Best to put your peso price range in for more accurate information. Your middle class could be high class dining to some here. I use TripAdvisor for dining recommendations. There are many good dining places in High Street located in BGC. Taxis to there are very reasonable or use Grab.

Better yet just go online search.

Think of the San Mig flavoured beers but with banana not apple or lemon.

It is definitely not a light beer. I notice the buzz more from a pint of this than a pint of other beers. I'd guess 6 or 7% ABV. They have other custom flavors but this is my favorite one.

"Simple" Pinays do not care much for expensive Italian or French food; a fair number of girls have told me they are disgusted by anything in a cream sauce (I won't bring up the irony here). They are also uncomfortable in a fancy / expensive setting; local cuisine would be your best bet if you want them to feel at ease. If you don't go local, at least make sure the menu has pictures for her to see what the food looks like. I am not a huge fan of Filipino food so I tend to eat alone, LOL.

Now if she is upper middle class, take her somewhere fancy to impress.

I concur that GreenBelt Mall has a good spread of different restaurants. You can walk though with her and let her choose. I'm betting she chooses a cheap Filipino restaurant. The last time I did this (in another mall), of all the choices she had, she choose "The House that Chicken Built" (I can't remember the name, but it was just slightly better than Jollibees).

I'll second that. I am partial to the BBQ burgers at Rockefeller GB3 near the Cinema, one of those with a pint of their private brewed banana beer or dark ale will set you back less than 500.

Good place to take a date for a casual meal. You can get change from 1000 and both eat well.

"Not cheap but not too expensive". OK, I'll guess p5000 or less for two fits your definition in that. Have I guessed correctly? Pretty much any place at Green Belt meets that requirement. Good restaurants at BGC's walking street. And in and near Rockwell Power Plant mall, which is a few minutes from Burgos, you'll find decent places. Same too in Jupiter St which is near Burgos - for example Corner Tree Cafe. Many delicious Korean restaurants in Makati. I'll guess you like Korean food, and I've yet to meet a Pinay who doesn't like it. Go to Seoul Kalbi in General Luna Street.

I reckon if you can specify a budget and what kind of food you like (or what you dislike) you might get better recommendations. As it is now, it's wild guesses.

However, many times the problem may be with the eater and his / her immune system and not the food itself. Most people do not know about their allergies or poor immunity until they get violently sick.

In the experience I had an older, thoughtful Filipina suggested later that we had erred in eating the oysters on an empty stomach. In my case the oysters were one of the first things I ate. But I remain apprehensive.

Way too subtle message CM. The OP might think you are referring to the availability and actual consumption of molluscs.

The top place for all-you-can-eat clams is Walking Street in Angeles City. All kinds of clams are available in streets, alleys, and bars. Just let the vendor know that you want unlimited servings. Always make sure the clams are fresh if you like to eat them raw, as eating a bad clam can make you very ill. Eating raw blood clams is very risky, as they tend to pick up pathogens when feeding.
