I have written some unflattering items about Grab during the pandemic. In my experience here is another (and not Grab's fault, it became the law): They stopped allowing the rider (your girl) to enter the vehicle without the account owner (you). Thick in the head, I tried that several times in both a provincial city and the big city. I even ordered up a Grab taxi to transport my girl from my hotel to her place (7 minute ride at 10 pm light traffic). I was standing with the girl at the curb outside the hotel when the driver arrived. She hopped in the back and I closed the door while standing at the curb. A moment later she opened the door and the driver asked if I was going with her. He refused to take her home without me in the car. I offered him an extra p100 tip cash and he still refused. She got out of the car and he drove away. SH*t, the curfew had just started and the girl was an 'additional' guest, allowed into the hotel at that time only 10 am-9 pm, and we were already an hour past that, with a guard at the door staring at us. An empty tryke passed by and the driver agreed to take her home for p100. Everything worked out that time, but other times when I sent a Grab to a location to bring a girl to my place (or ST hotel), the driver refused to drive her because I was not present (which, BTW, you still have to pay for it, as the driver has wasted his time and not gotten the expected fare; it bills out to my CC).

However that was last year (I stopped doing that, duh), and things might have changed (or might soon).

Another reminder about taxis. Those entering soon will find taxis have plastic divider sheets that completely cut off the driver's seat from the passenger and rear seats (and the front passenger seat from the rear seats). Some drivers don't allow the front seat to be used, and only 2 passengers in the back seat (for a long time that became a Grab rule). If you have two young sweeties in tow, you might need more than 1 taxi. OTOH sometimes I jump in the front seat myself (my preferred seat) and nobody peeps.

But getting them to the hotel on time, or knowing when to admit that a girl is going to be a no show, is exasperating. Some guys here line up multiple ladies for the same time period. To make a long story short, I made an embarrassing situation into a totally humiliating one (for all parties concerned).

Haha this is funny! I feel the same way you do about KTVs, and probably will never experience one.

I am really looking for something a bit on the exotic side. I usually just fish off of Date in Asia (DIA) and pinalove.com and end up with more girls than I can handle. The trick, which I have not mastered, is timing. For example, I have often arranged a lunch date, with the goal to have a nice lunch, go back to my room for the fun, and send the girl on her way and then move on to girl #2. Girl #2 is usually a late dinner date and an overnight. The idea is to have sex with three times with two different girls each day.

Unfortunately, neither DIA nor pinalove work like escort services, and one cannot simply go back to the web site when there is a no show and get a girl into the bedroom in a reasonable amount of time. I suppose the answer is to limit myself to a single girl, and just hang onto her when she arrives the first time at my hotel. I could have a main squeeze at my hotel and visit an incall location once or twice a day when I have "special needs". I have tried the massage places on Burgos and this has proved to be an immense waste of time. KTVs sounded like they might be perfect, except I know very little about them other than the horror stories. Are there actual brothels in Manila where one could go for a few hours of discrete fun?

I believe that Ghost the (post #18651) and myself (post #18657) made descriptive reports of LAC and Robinson's in the past week or so? You might want to start there. The walkers inside Robinson's show up before noon most days, and hang in the same spot as before, in the hallway between the atrium and Starbucks on the Pedro Gil entrance, near the escalator. The girls in Robinson's are a full digit higher on the scale than the girls prior to the pandemic.

Yes, there are a few ways to get to La Caf from Makati, I have been through at least 3-4 different routes from BGC / Makati over the years, LA Caf is actually really close to the coast line, as shown in the map image, if you take the main road that follows the coast you will see several bars / clubs that are mid to up-market being costal facing, and then a short road into the venue itself, I have actually travelled in the route that you described as well and I agree, only seasoned folks might want to explore those streets; the other route I was on passed by, has a lot of Karaoke, bars and casinos which have a Arabic type feel, including a lot of hot ladies to be seen trying to entice customers, that area is very close to the location of LA Caf, hence my question about was there anywhere else worth visiting in that area.

I do know that there were a number of night clubs in the area which range from mostly local to mixed customer bases, and in (a good few) years past there were some reports in this forum of some places worth visiting in that general area, but nothing in recent years.

In fact, I associate KTVs with stories I have read about guys who go to a back room, are surprised when large men walk in and end up being blackmailed (generally going from ATM to ATM until their limit is used up)...

There are almost always freelancers in and around Remedios Circle my past trip report I stole a girl from a Korean guy and she left to give him my sloppy seconds.

When the KTV bars started re-opening last year, around October, foot traffic picked up in / around the circle. While the bars started opening socially distanced, at least one kuya was present at the corner of Adriatico / Remedios most nights. Back was his sales pitch, complete with placard of pics of PYT's. The placard was several years old, the lamination was peeling off. I asked him if he had any of the approximately 20 girls in the pics on the placard. He said yes. I followed him several blocks to a place where he trotted out 5 girls. None of them were the girls in the pictures on the placard. Two were fairly hot, the other 3 were worthless. I asked him to show me one of the girls in the placard. He had no idea what to say. We never got around to discussing the prize. I walked on to Robinson's (I was headed there anyway). Same old pre-pandemic stuff (careful what you wish for).

Something like this once almost happened to me at a bar in Budapest a decade ago (fortunately, I was able to run faster than the bug guy who was threatening me), and the memory still haunts me.

I would actually like to check out a KTV, but have little idea how it works. Furthermore, although I believe that it is each to his own, I am not much of a drinker, and certainly never drink to the point of intoxication. My wingman drinks even less (he usually holds a single bottle of beer for the duration of an evening). I sense that a lot of guys like the alcohol as part of the experience.

I would love to have the names of one or two classic KTVs in Manila, a description of how the scene works and a recommendation of how much money I should bring with me to the event. Thanks!

I enjoy staying at the Sunny Bay Suites so I partake from LAC every now and then given its extremely close proximity you can almost smell the debauchery from the room. But at LAC they always want me to pay their bill on top of their fee. As far as I know LAC makes them buy a drink to be in the bar or some kind of fee. Manila based hookers almost always have conditions which is why I do less mongering in manila. Although girls in manila will let you fondle them which is an interesting differentiation. I NEVER NEVER go into any KTVs in this area they explicitly state no bar fines and the ".

Kuyas" are relentless in this area if one latches on to you can sour the mood. They have told me that there are "NUDE" shows in the area down VERY dark alleys which I always refuse as should we all. If anyone is new to this area just try not to talk to the "men" total waste of time and dangerous. I have never pulled a girl form Robinsons before I will have to try that. I don't bring these girls back to my room they always strike me as sketchy in this area so I catch and release at the sogo nearby. looking forward to getting reacquainted.

Pic 1, LAC in the upper-left corner, Robinson's Malate upper-middle. Coming out of LAC you are standing on M. H. Del Pilar St. Turning right (follow the green arrow) and walking south on Del Pilar, eventually you come to the red arrows. Along those red arrow street areas you will find Korea-town and many KTV bars, filled with honies. However these are not gogo bars designed for easy chica take-out. These bars closed for over a year during lockdown, but last year around September they started to be re-constructed inside as restaurants. Then, many re-opened as such, or with pretty girls to sit and have a high-priced drink with. Many closed and re-opened with lockdown strictness. This area was vibrant* during pre-pandemic times.

The Shwarma place has good food (LAC serves food that is, well, fair). Last time I was in LAC was early November. I had been in several times from June-November. It was open at the time from 7 am-8 pm (curfew was of changing times), and was just a restaurant (the waitress emphasized that). There were no girls inside, just a few couples and business folk having lunch or dinner. When the flood returns, I am sure it will return to its glory days of 200 available chicas.

* Vibrant. Another word for loud, up all night, and SKETCHY. Lots of drug dealers and various peddlers in the area. Please read Breadman's description of his taxi ride. This area is not for the feint of heart. In fact, you might want to stay in your condo and order take-out. Regarding BM's description inside LAC, this seems to be typical to me, especially on a Friday / Saturday evening. Of the 200 or so ladies inside, you will find quite a variety of ages, body styles, tatoos, attitudes, clientelle and bargaining techniques, and so forth.

One pre-pandemic (1 month before lockdown) evening I rolled in at 2 am (jetlag), just to look around. Easily 150-200 ladies. I paid for my drink instantly instead of waiting for the bill, so I could walk around the place and not worry the waitress that I'd left without paying. I was approached by several fuglies, age 20-40-ish or more, offering overpriced ST (p3500 lowest offer from the fuglies) full of nonsense conditions: "Condom only, 1 pop, 1 hour, blah blah". I chatted up several lookers. In fact from walking the bar, upstairs and down, I saw 12-15 model-type lookers, and another 30-ish do-able spinners. One of the spinners was 21 and kept following me around, asking me if she could go with me (we exchanged phone numbers and I had her on a later date, and she became a regular). One of the lookers offered at LT for a very reasonable price. I realize that means that easily half or more of the ladies are not for me (and I have low standards). But it also means on a night like that (mid-week, with less ladies than the weekend), there is something there for everyone; assuming that you are willing to walk around the joint, chat up only the girls who strike your fancy, and you are willing to dicker with her. There is a good chance that lookers will want to start with a much higher price-point (say, p5 or 6 k for ST). You want a '9'? Pay up. You got a '9' before for a better (lower) price? Bully for you! But prices change constantly, depending on each girl's needs at the moment. There is something there for everyone, but you might have to dicker, and you might have to be honest with the girl in what you want. BTW I didn't take any girl that evening as I didn't go inside for the nawty, I was just reconnoitering.
