I was there in late March.

I met a girl online named Mari from Manila before I left the states. I thought she was too young (23), she was looking for a husband, I told her no thanks. Did not know I was on Burgos St. Being the only customer in the joint is good, and a pain, so I downed my drink and left. I went across the street to another bar, same thing, but 4 times bigger. About 4 or 5 men, tons of girls, all under 25. Amazing. The fichas are only $3.50 at both bars. I stepped a few doors down, same thing, smaller country-okified kind of bar, 2 men, 20 or so girls.

The bar fine at the first bar was 3500 pesos (about $70 US), no tip for the girl. I didn't like that setup, you are paying for everything to the mamasan up front. If you don't like the service, or the girl leaves without performing, who do you complain to? The barfine at the second bar was 3000 pesos and the girl gets whatever you negotiate, about 2500 pesos. At least she has to perform before she gets paid. At the third bar, the mama said I could barfine for only 1000 pesos, and dicker with the girl, if I liked the girl then I should come back and pay a bigger barfine the next time. WTF was she serious? All the girls in the bars are very pretty I thought.

I left the bars and went for a massage (300 pesos anywhere, $6 US), then came back and worked the street girls. Some of the girls are so shy they wont quote you a price, they asked me to offer something. One girl I offered 300 pesos ($6) to see what she would say, and she said OK but only short time, 500 pesos for all night. I was stunned, she only wanted $10 for TLN. I ended up not taking her up. I ended up asking another girl if she could work for 600 pesos ($12) all night and she said yes. I asked if she could work with another girl, and she said she had a friend if I approved of the friend. The friend was across the street, pretty, and we agreed on 600 for the first girl and the second girl would not go below 1000 pesos, so 1600 pesos ($32) for the night. Yes, thats the ticket, a couple of hotties all night for 32 clams. Too good to be true? Stunningly amazing. Stunningly lucky. Both were lookers, a 7 the first girl and the second one was an 8.

You have to be careful with the street urchins. Ladyboys and such. The hotel security was pretty good at spotting. As I was leaving earlier in the evening, they pulled one hotel guest aside and told him that he'd brought a ladyboy to the hotel, was he aware of that? The girl he had with him looked fine, but she was not the real deal. The security was pretty good in other ways. When I brought my guests to the lobby, they have the girls sign in, then they take the girl's drivers license or ID card. When the girl wants to leave the hotel, security calls your room to OK it; you check your wallet and effects to see if she's taken anything first.

Anyway the girls were great in the room, massage, sex, talk. The only thing I didn't like was that they wanted to watch the TV, and loud, the soaps and the karaoke channel, after the sex. I was drained and tired by midnight, I had to take the remote out of Annielyn's hand and turn the damn thing off. Unlike here in the states you go at the start of the movie and watch it all at once. I lied to her and told her I was headed back to the states, I got in a taxi and headed to the Astoria Plaza where I had a two-night reservation. We exchanged email adds. The night at the hotel with her wasn't that great, that old catholic thing took over and at the point of impact she just.... couldn't do it. Thats OK, i snuggled up to a skinny girl 12 years younger anyway. We exchanged email addresses and she's already written.

Here's where I learned my lesson. I went online and chatted with Mari (the youngster). She was thrilled I was in Manila and wanted to come right over to the Astoria. I stupidly said OK, and she did. She's gone 90 minutes and returns.... with.... her family. Yep, mom, aunt, and sister. The front desk called, I had to go to the lobby to fetch them. OH MY FUCKING GOD. They wanted to see my suite. They asked if I was married. They wanted to know about my job. Do I have a retirement with my job? Then they wanted to go to dinner, so I took them. They wanted to eat at some place in the mall called Burgeroo so we went. I paid (about $26), they ordered mucho extra so they could take it home. Then I paid for the cab to take them home; they seemed happy and left their daughter/niece/sister with me for the night. Was never so happy to see the 747 the next morning.

Great trip. And strange, different culture, my first time. Thats enough for one TR. Sorry if it was long.

In all of this I did actually find a condo I liked (by the old Fort McKinley).

Mahaba has it right. Of course if you have a longer vacation, and want to avoid soggy shoes, head south. If you do some Internet searching, you will find that weather varies greately between different parts of the Philippines.

Try to find one of those small fold up umbrellas. They have somke good ones in the rainy area in which I reside. Also, take sandals (or buy some when you get there).

Any time is an excellent time in the Philippines! As long as you won't f**k outdoors the rainy season does not matter at all! :) In case of need simply buy a small umbrella - that's all!

Having lived in PI in the past and visited quite often, I can say with confidence that the difference between going to Manila and Angeles City in the rainy season is that you are more likely to get wet when you go outside.

The bars are still open, the girls are still ready and willing, and the beer is still cold. You still get occasional dry days for the swimming pool, etc., but things do not really slow down.

Sure, there may be the occasional typhoon, power outage, flood, etc., but thats the fun of being in PI, where time seems to have stopped. I visited after a 20-year absence and nothing had changed besides the peso exchange rate.

It think the airfare may be cheaper in the off season also.

The strip of bars on Roxas Blvd is the first bars I visited in the PI. The only thing I can remember about these bars is that there was a room where a monger could look at the ladies and choose. I opted out of this and landed a hotty (8) from the dance stage. I notice the ladies dancing were much prettier than the ladies behind the window. so the moral of the story is, be carefull. you always read about all the guys who get busted with **** girls, but from this experiance, i now think it could happen to almost anyone. and i had only just spent an evening at the police station when someone tried to steal my wallet, and i don't want to have to go back there when i really had done something wrong.

Mayor Lim also wants to close the bars/restaurants that serve alcohol on Baywlak, the place that Atienza really cleaned up and made into a nice family night time venue. Who are the people who voted for him!

Was in Manila last time he and his gang went through Emrmita with padlocks etc. Got lots of press then and will get lots more this time around. Just means Burgos will be more crowded but hopefully Pasay can fill in.

I was just about to write a few lines on this subject when the above was posted. Last May 14 the Philippines held a series of elections. Included in the posts up for grabs was Mayor of Manila.

Alfredo Lim was duly elected mayor of Manila (City of Manila ie. Mabini, Malate districts etc , not all of Metro Manila ).

Those of you that have been around Manila for a while will remember that this gentleman served a previous term as mayor of Manila in the early Nineties. During which time he was responsible for closing a large number of girly bars that then existed all along Del Pilar, Mabini St etc. Completely killing the mongering scene in Manila and putting a supposed 25,000 girls out of work.

A few of the more financially astute bars were able to transfer to nearby Pasay city and were reincarnated in what is now known as the EDSA complex, but most bars just faded away.

At that what is now L.A. cafe was called Roses diner, and a very good 24-hour operation it was. Roses diner remain closed for a number of years until reopening as LA Cafe after Mayor Lims previous term of office expired.

I'm very much afraid that many bars in Manila were very soon be shut down again once more. I have plenty of contacts in the area, if I hear any definite news I will post immediately.

Its finally time to give back to the forum and I would like to thank all the posters for the invaluable information. My weekend romp was primarily in Manila and Makati so I'll just post my story here.

I arrived into Manila at 11pm and cleared immigration by midnight and settled into the Oxford Suites by 12:40 am and out on Burgos by 1 am. Other honorable places worth mentioning from some intel was the Casino Hotel massage located on the 8th floor (I think it was the 8th) for a great lineup. Highly recommended. In addition, I was also told for some of the hottest girls, I needed to check out Caeser's KTV although there is no barfine there.
