I wasn't sure if there were any girly bars in Makati open during the day so this may be another option. If anyone could advise on this it would be greatly appreciated. But by a) not drinking too heavily and b) doing the below actions, you can definitely keep your card safe and not run into any problems.

I will give BofA a plug by saying they immediately noticed the transactions and declined all but one, and that one was quickly researched and reversed. So no damage done.

I will also give a plug for Lips mamasan, Neehan, she was very professional, fun to talk to, confirmed all my charges with me and everything was spot on accurate. So there are trustworthy folks in go-go bars, but yeah, heightened security definitely recommended.

Thanks for posting this. Using a CC in such establishments means considering using some heightened security for large purchases: Keep the card locked from within your bank's app until needed. Unlock the card just before you pay and depart the bar. Ask the waitress to bring the bill and card-reader device to you (not the cashier) so you can watch her enter the amount in the device. Today's card readers can be unplugged from both the electrical outlet (rechargeable) and also any wired internet connection (wifi). If they insist that the cashier transacts it at her station (post covid, all cashiers are in a closed office / room), you can go there and watch the cashier use the device (she will turn the device so you can see it and confirm the bill amount on the device). The device prints 2 receipts on the spot. Compare the printed receipt from the device with the bill: Is it the same? After you sign, keep your copy of the receipt (have seen drunk whales literally leave it on their table and waltz out, having never even looked at it). Pull the phone back out of your pocket, check the recent amount on your bank app account, and then re-lock the card on the app before departing the bar. Having the card pre-set at a limit amount as Idiot suggests is also a good idea.

Everything I just said is a vibe-killer. But, just sayin' that if you are running up a tab of p30-100 K in a bar, whether cash or CC requires a heightened sense of security and sitch awareness. Don't let a waitress walk off with your CC out of your site in a gogo bar.

I can second a warning for Nautika. Let me preface all of this by saying it is moronic and anyone's own fault for using a credit card in any of these establishments, simply not worth the risk, you're better off leaving it at home. I got what I deserved. With that preamble out of the way, I had a similarly negative experience at Nautika. I had gone a few times and been reasonably friendly with the staff, bouncer etc. And never felt any major risk of being ripped off. However on my last visit there, now over a year ago, my judgment might have been somewhat impaired after indulging in a few too many SML's and somehow both a credit and debit card were run, at maximum possible charge (50,000 PHP equivalent), multiple times. I noticed what was going on as I got notifications through my phone and confronted the mamasan, who of course denied any foul play. Thankfully I have limits set which prevented any more than a single charge going through. I checked my wallet to make sure my cards were back in there and marched immediately out. Haven't been back since, and never will.

My apologies, but you will need to define what you mean by "Escort Scene". If you want to bring freelancers back to your room, then you will literally be pushing girls out of the way walking the street to the bars in Burgos. Note my previous warnings about chicks with dicks and security. Other options are online personals sites (rife with false promises that you don't have time to wade through), online outcall websites like Smooci etc at prices similar to Burgos bars or higher or semi / full pros at Poblacion clubs (many mega hot girls but may require wine and dining all night which takes time and $$ Top of the tree is Seeking: it's either love it or hate it and reviews will be polarised about if it's worth it.

Keep in mind Burgos is designed for exactly what you are talking about: businessmen, in town for a few nights, who want good looking girls, a foreigner and English friendly environment, no risk of mind games, runners nor security issues, where price isn't the prime driver.

I'm definitely biased towards it: it's the only place in Philippines that I still barfine, I happily still pay 2 or 3 x what I would pay an online girl and I can't ever remember leaving dissatisfied with the service. You don't have to stay drinking all night: it's perfectly acceptable to walk in, explain to a mama what your preferences are and ask for a 5 girl line up and then walk out 3 minutes later.

There are numerous hotels either on Burgos itself (very close but average quality) or on Dunbar Street that intersects it. Dunbar hotel is pretty basic but a good fuck pad: a few minutes walk to the action, quiet enough to sleep, adequate security, and daytime 7/11, food etc. I seem to remember the breakfasts being tollerable.

If you don't want to spend $200 per night on the bargirls, then you can roll the dice with streetwalkers or get numbers to meet out of work hours. Obviously, be aware of the many bakla in the street and lock valuables away when back in your room.

So they attempted to run the following charges: $1,291.48, another attempt at $1,291.48, then $895.26, $1,305.28 and another at the same amount $1,305.28.

Grand total of attempted, but declined charges was: $6,088.78, plus the one that did go through, but I got reversed of $2,711.55, for a grand, grand total of $8,800.33 in attempted charges by my good friends.

Yes, I did use my card at Lips and also at Dimples with zero issues. They ran exactly what they said they would, which was exactly what I bought.

Nautika on the other hand. NO, NO, NO.

That's what I did for my girl. I didn't have time to go see her in Mindanao, so I bought her tickets on my account in Cebu Pacific and sent her the boarding pass picture. I would have also given her travel money, as she lives a few hours from the airport, but she refused it. All in all, we had two days for basically her airfare, which was 6-7 k total. Cost of food together was negligible and we shared the same room. Much cheaper than a bar girl, and much more intimate.

If your girl is in or near Manila, there is the option of grab or joyride. Send the money to her gcash. It is usually no more than a few hundred pesos. She will arrive in good time. Just don't sweat it. If you make the girl comfortable, they will generally return it back tenfold.

Yes I have had similar experiences. Although I try and buy tickets direct or other expenses many of these girls will ask for money for food and security on the journey. When you add up the cost its the cost of a few drinks in a bar. Nothing to cry about. The ones that do show are usually very compliant as they are getting a payday well above the availability in many regional towns and cities, they get a nice holiday and they certainly don't want to be kicked to the curb from bad behaviour.
