    What to do in Fils

Spent 10 days there in January - not a dull moment, as there's plenty to do when you're not at LA cafe or the other bars. Intramuros is a must see and will take all day, the markets especially the huge one at Baclaran are great. I guess it depends if you're after dvds, watches, cheap clothing etc, but the time just flies by and the people at the markets will talk all day to you if you're in that kind of mind.
The malls of course are great places to pick up and they are good places to get cheap eats. I never had a dull moment and never felt threatened - I guess cos it was my first visit that it was all new to me but I will certainly be going back as every day brought something new - just be ready for that certain smile or look as you're walking around the shops and before you know it you are having coffee or something to eat with a nice little office worker who is looking for some extra pocket money. Just be careful of the ladyboys - I was amazed at how hard they were to pick, the old saying about look out for their adam's apple does not always apply!! Be very wary!

If the malls don't work, then you've still got the evening to head to the bars. Sure, on the streets you get hassled by all sorts of peddlers but I just took up a friendly attitude to them all thanked them but said no thanks and just kept moving forward - they will soon lose interest. Experience travelling around on the jeepneys, the taxis are cheap - just barter the fare up front - never a problem!

The golf courses are good and its easy to organise a game - if you're staying at a good hotel they will organise everything for you. Since we don't get a chance to shoot handguns in Australia, I went to a shooting range in Manila - expensive but great fun! The casino is only small compared to Melbourne's Crown but its still a good place to spend time and meet the locals.

I think I went with a good attitude and treated everyone I met with respect - after all you are a visitor. Just be careful and wary, there are so many good looking and willing ladies you can't miss out but just walk around and enjoy the city while you are there!

    Hi DTM:

Yes, if you want to overbridge the time between screwing one local girl after the other you can do lots of things in Manila and other parts of the country. The Philippines have much more to offer than only sexy woman! Highly recommendable is the 'Lonely Planet Philippines'. In this travel guide you will find plenty of hints in terms of sightseeing, shopping, cultural events etc.!

    Have a great time there!

I am not sure of the location of Nirvana because I was not paying attention to where we were, but Im sure you will have no problem finding it. It is a pretty good sized place. There is a large dance floor and it is often packed. They play mostly hip hop dance music, but will also play some slow songs for you and your lady to get close with. When I was there it was filled with groups Koreans and a few white guys, who were seemingly on solo missions. There are many dancing girls who put on a good show. There is a male attendant in the restroom who will offer you a towel to dry your hands and then attempt to give you a quick massage for a small tip. There are also VIP rooms there, but I did not partake in the fun there since I was with my girl, but each time my girl went to the cr, at least 2 girls ran over to me and I had to chase them away since my Filipina was very jealous.

Never a problem with this machine any 99.9% of times has plently of money.
In the past year I have had two times where my checking account was debited, but I did not receive the money from the ATM (that I know of, I used to be really bad at checking online to ensure that were no other times). This compares with 20 plus years in the US without a single ATM problem. I no longer use ATM's in the Philippines, except in an emergency, and always check online immediately afterwards to check that there was no problems.

    EDSA Entertainment Complex

Was in Manila for a couple of night recently and hit EDSA with a buddy one of the nights.

Happy to report that both he and I could not have been more pleased with the girls we took out of Cotton club. No magic, just the usual "they chose us and we were smart enough not to keep looking" approach.

Mine was 23 and just a sexy hot girl - groping in the bar, and over the course of the night any door was opened. Outstanding and much the way I remember it from years ago when I was there often. The past few years have not been up to this standard and I was really pleased.

1000 piso bar fine and no discussion of money with the girl. Tipped what I though was the right amount and she seems happy with it. I was more than happy with her.

I forgot the rate but I think I posted it here a few weeks ago.

Anyone else have any other info?

    English schools

This may seem like an odd request for information, but this site seems to be a gold mine for all kinds of information.

As you may well know, there are job opportunities for Filipinas that have good English language skills (esp. good pronunciation). There is the tourism industry as well as the call centers.

Does anyone know of a good English school in the Manila area?

Consider an adult, college graduate, working for a foreign owned hotel, good English skills, wants to polish those skills to get a better job and/or promotion.

    Thanks,

    X

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I want that Hot, hard body. But I do usually end up a little unsatisfied. A seasoned veteran can be a lot more fun. Trick is to find one who is still pretty hot. There are plenty around.

I think most people make the mistake of going for the hottest looking. I actually usually avoid them.

    Just my 2 cents.

The best ATM card to have is a card with "PLUS AND CIRUS" ON the back. Some banks like metro only give you 4000p Per draw, China bank 4,000P per draw, and equetable is 5000p per draw. The BPI bank will let you have 20,000P one draw, and you only get hit for 1 transaction and one overseas charge. When you use the others the bank at home gets you each time you tap the machine 5 dollars or so.Add that up over 5-6 months and it's big money. The other way is to go inside the bank with passport, and zerox coppy of pass port, A current valid id.There you can get 50,000 if you want but do not for get the zerox or they will make you get one. The other problem is they will not allways help you get money. One day at a bank at the freeport subic they ran my card wanted 50,000 and they came back and said there was no money in the account. What's up with that,I asked. The gal said she had no idea.So uotsid I went and got in the ATM line and got my 20,000P and went back in and personally showed the girl that there was money in the account and thanks for all the help.

The problem is you must plan ahead on getting money.Allways find out about hollidays, and banking times. The best way is when there open in case you get your card stuck in the machine.Or the machines might not have any cash left by sunday that happens.Maby not in Manila but smaller cities will have this problem. The holiday problem is you better plan ahead and get your cash to carry you over 2-3 days before the closure of the banks.20,000P limit and 3-4 days with no money might find you broke half way through the weekend.

The casino was said to be a place that will charge you a small fee to get any amount you want off your card. Not sure if they are all the same only herd that about the one in subic.

NEVER TAKE TRAVELERS OF ANY KINE HERE IN PI THEY WILL NOT CASH THEM HERE.I herd a guy from Germany ***** about that at my hotel.
