Posts: 293I have stayed at OAKWOOD in Makati at about usd.100 a night, plus taxes. It is a socalled "serviced apartment", breakfast included. No problem bringing ladies to your room.
I Guess the prices listed on their website is negotiable! ?

Perhaps you can get a better rate, depending on how long you will stay.

Does anybody knows a website to rent a furnished apartment in Manilla?
Manilla seems to me a paradise to chat up non-pros and very interesting concerning pros.
I will have 1 month off and I hesitate between one country in South America, Venezuela or Costa Rica or going to Manilla.

I cant speak for Subic-area, but in Manila you have to pay additional for the service of the ladies.

At EDSA Ent. Complex, the 1000 bar fine, 1000 to 2000 to girl st/ Lt.
Makati is 1000 to 1500 peso bar fine 2000-3000 peso to the girl st / Lt.
The girl in Manila is much better quality than Angeles .

A few months ago I got to spend some time in Angeles City, my first time in in PI. Bar fines there were about 1000 to 1200, which included everything, except the tip in the morning if I was inclined to do so. Mostly, the girls were young and sweet, I loved it.
I've spent quite a bit of time in Thailand so I'm used to the barfine situation, but in Thailand its only paid to get the girl out of the bar. In Angeles its all paid up front.
My question is, is the way that it's done in Angeles representative of barfines in other places such as Subic and Manila? Some of the reading that I've done seem to suggest its not all the same.
I'm looking at the PI for a retirement place, at least part time.

I started paying a lot of attention to RP in 97 onward, as I was planning my "big" trip, which actually took place in 2000. In late 99 or early 2000, Erap's administration was unhappy with the statistics on AIDs being collected by the government, so they stopped collecting information at the governmental level. That and the tendency of Filipinos who have contracted the disease to not be as open about it as here in the US (shame perhaps), gives the illusion that the rate is so low. It may be 1%, but it also may be higher, who knows.

Gents: Thanks for the 2 up on the "protests". Seems that musician understands the score. The jeepneys would be needed to bus protesters in in any event and obviously someone has to organise the gig. I was in Davao a few months back when it was bombed. The Muslims had a "what about" protest outside CityHall, see below, and no one hassled them.
How widespred is hepatitis in the Phils? I find it hard to believe such a fucked up country has such low HIV rates. I read some dumb ass post here about a guy playing the odds because "only" 1-2% of Phil hookers are "officially" HIV+.
Cebu: Thanks for the sex toys addresses; I also found more addresses in AC from Junior's post in AC where I have a mini army of skanks lined up from yahoo. However, I might head south instead. AC strikes me as a one trick town. (That's what Lonely Planet call it:)).
I wil be staying in Ermita early next week but will clear out of town fast. I have a few nearby non L Cafe low life places checked out and will report back when time and God allow.
Looking back on my Phil photos, I have to say I like Phil women. Something ladylike about them. Wife material.
Cebu: if you have any idea where I should go: quiet, safe, not too much rain, lovable ladies seeking wholesome love, please post. I hope the photos etc compensate for ramblings here.

Sorry, some of this is really Makati but I don't feel like sorting it out.
Went out last night to Miss Universal in Pasay City, Harrison Street with a group of 5 girls and another American guy. This is a stripper bar popular with Asian businessmen. It's not at all cheap, as evidenced by the kinds of cars parked out front. For example it costs 5000 to get a VIP room. Lots of drinks are included with this, but you have to negotiate separately for what you to with girls in here. Even so, it's worth coming here just for a look. The girls are mostly the creamy, flawless skin types popular with the clientele that comes here. Lots of nicely shaved pussies too. So even if you don't actually do anything it's worth a look.
It's usually OK bringing regular girls to bars like this. In fact it's good for making them horny, combined with a few glasses of wine, hehe.
After we left here I was able to separate out one of the girls and we went together to Conway in the Shangri-La in Makati. This is a live band place with a dance floor. A few more glasses of wine and some close dancing and I was 'in.'
I'm staying at the Dusit Hotel in Makati. No problems with guests here.
The night before (a Tuesday) I went bar-hopping all over town on my own. I started at Cafe Havana and then Hard Rock in Makati. I spotted a few girls of interest here, but it was still early and I moved on. The scene was probably even better later after I left.
Then I went to EDSA Entertainment Complex, near where EDSA meets Roxas Blvd. I found that I was about the only punter in the whole place. I went to about 4 places in here and there were never more than 2 other guys in a place, sometimes I was the only one. In hindsight it's silly that I didn't take someone from here because I had all kinds of fantastic choices. I did ask and was told that barfines are 1000 and then you negotiate with the girl.
After that I was off to LA Cafe, didn't see much there. Then I went to Ratsky, a live band place. I like the one in Cebu so I checked this one out. Again, not much there that wasn't already attached. By this time the gin tonic count was well into double figures. I was just sober enough to decide that I really didn't want to go back with a girl I didn't know, even though it was tempting to go back to EDSA.
Only spending 3 days here so there won't be time for much more hunting. I've kept my girl in Cagayan waiting long enough.

Basically most people were wearing t-shirts from rival political parties and just chatting with each other.
You can see the pic I took with all the jeepneys lined up. I guess most were just bussed in for the event. I almost fell to the ground laughing when I got near the speaker truck - there was some guy singing "Oust GMA" to the tune from the song "YMCA."
Yeah, I think EVERYBODY is safe for now. Happy mongering. AR+
