L.A Cafe is in Ermita. Used to be Rosies Diner. Mostly foreigners but a few local guys.

i'm finally back "home" in malate, taking some time to get answers for folks who asked ...
my girlfriend convinced me to take a walk down to the bay at 7am to watch the war-canoe races. since it was such a beautiful morning, i just kept walking after they ended. i eventually passed through the edsa area, and even at 9am on sunday morning some guy says "nice girl for you?". that was at the corner beside the flyover where the 'to baclaran' sign is on roxas. i can now confirm that if you walk a few more blocks and turn left (east it seems) that you will wind up on harrison street when you cross the invisible boundary from pasay to malate. turn left (north?) from there, walk through what to me look like slums with some dingy bars and you eventually wind up at harrison plaza, which opens at 10am on sunday. if you keep walking north (the bay is now on your left a few blocks down), pass the zoo, harrison street turns into a. mabini. if you continue along mabini, you'll pass a slew of bars and walk right into the ermita area in about 10 minutes - that's walking slow, filipino style. ok, enough boring directions!

yesterday (thu) around noon i took a stroll down adriatico (which is one block east of mabini), to the sm dept store at harrison plaza to buy some stuff i needed. i would *not* recommend walking through the slums between the touristy part of adriatico and harrison unless you're very brave or very foolish. once you get south of the fancy new streetlights they installed in april, go back down to mabini, or better yet down 2 blocks and hop on a 4 peso jeepnie, which is what i usually do and what i'll do the next time myself.

an hour or so later, i took another stroll around the 2nd floor perimeter, saw another likely one, walked past her, got "the look", walked down to the end, turned around, and sure enough she said "would you like a girlfriend?". she would have been maybe mid-30's and a bit worn looking, though dressed fairly nice.

I may confirm to follow Marconista's suggestions, I' have been some 40 times in the Phls. and what he say is precisely right, in The Edsa Complex you will find some 600/800 working girls, you may go there at 8 pm sit in the coffee shop a the entrance and take a look at the girls when they come in - up to 10 pm the differen shifts start working, you may yust check where the one you like is going in.
