I had an incident a few months ago in Colombia with my last girlfriend. She threatened to pack her things and go home. No arguement from me. I said go then. She did not go. I got up and took a shower and packed my things and told her to turn the key in when she left the hotel. I walked out of the door.

These guys have made the most basic of mistake: marrying someone who is no way their peer. The rice farmer's daughter is socially unacceptable in the West and financially demanding and cannot hold a conversation back in her home.

I've often said that they are fun for a night or two but for something more permanent, its much beter to get out of the bar and offline and find someone decent with much more in common from suburbia.

I totally get that some guys like churning through endless girls nightly and it makes for great reading for some guys that have never spent extended time doing it. However for many others, endless change outs gets old pretty quickly and some continuity (with the occasional side trip) is much preferred.

One thing that often gets forgotten in this discussion is that unlike the West, in Asia it's totally acceptable to have both the "good", socially acceptable wife at home and the toys as needs arise. Just don't get the two confused.

The initial load eg the 100 p that WC1 mentioned, can be used for local and international calls and SMS and data. Obviously international calls and SMS are far more expensive than local ones. On top of this, the telcos offer packages that bundle services together at much better rates eg you might get 3 days of data, 50 SMS and 100 local call minutes. I don't use calls or sms much in country as I find most girls give WhatsApp or Viber numbers so most of my contact is through those even if it's just a quick messgae to see if they are free that day.

As a guide to cost, for a 1 month stay I top up 500 p at the airport and then use 300 p of that load to buy a 1. 6 Gb data package and 100 free text valid for one month. I also get free minutes but can't remember how many but it's enough to last me the whole trip. If I've got hotel wifi and don't watch videos on mobile data, I'll leave with load still on the mobile phone at the end of the trip.

Note that some of the "Unlimited" packages actually throttle to insanely slow after about 1 Gb per day.

I've heard a lot of that with expats when I lived in Korea. Guys there became tired of the b!tchy attitudes of Korean women and took to the Phils for greener pastures. Several whom I worked with came back to Korea with Filipina wives. One guy I worked with would rave about how his 30-years younger bride would cook, clean, iron his clothes, etc. I don't expect all that but I know I'm in that magical age group that's attractive to Filipinas. I imagine many of those ladies will change drastically once they've been in the States a few months. I've also seen some expats who really let themselves go, ie, get very overweight and turn into slobs. They marry young Filipinas and live out their lives in the Phils because they know they'll likely lose the woman if they bring them to the States. Your thoughts?

In USA socially it is unacceptable to have a young wife or date old enough to be a daughter or grand daughter. So even if you marry one and bring her here sooner or later she will get Americanized and adapt. She will come to know she has options and learn about alimony etc and not worry how she can live even with kids. I find this funny since the same staff that works at Kojax (open Thursday thru Saturdays for sure) also works at XOXO LOL! Same with the girls LOLOLOL! Same ones! The only thing is that the real hotties don't show up until like Friday and Saturday nights at Kojax, which is the upstairs bar. Maybe you caught them when folks were in a bad mood? I would say that on most days, I would rank PlanB higher, but Kojax absolutely took it up another notch optics-wise on the weekends. And, I won't say that ABC is the best hotel in the world, but I do think it's one of the two best in Angeles City. Nice staff, nice rooms in the new wing that aren't too gaudy (IMO), decent food for AC, rooftop pool, walking distance to all the action if you're in good enough shape. A good place to stay in AC versus one of the many, many dumps you will find there.

I know that it should be the same girls but the only person that I recognized was the same was the DJ. The girls were fine, but as I said, I couldn't see much of a difference with Plan be and Angeles. What was off was the service, very surly and greedy. Come to think of it, the waitresses at XOXO were suspiciously slow bringing change too and high pressure. The atmosphere in Angeles was way more enjoyable and the girls just a bit younger too. ABC was just fine considering the 7 k per night price tag, maybe I'll try the Fields Plaza Hotel next time because it is closer. Still disappointing when compared to some of the world class hotels in Manila that sometimes charge comparable prices.

I get 1 month unlimited (unli) data for p999. This is good for 800 mb per day at 4 gLTE speeds. After 800 mb in any given day, the speed throttles back to 2 g speed (very slow). It resets back to 800 mb and 4 gLTE speed at midnight. For about 500 pesos more, I get unlimited txts to all networks (Globe and Smart are separate networks) and about 100 minutes of calls to all networks (I can go months without making a phone call, but its nice to have some minutes worth in case of emergency). If the hotel wifi goes south (gosh that's never happened), and I've got a 4 gLTE signal, hotspotting my computer to my phone for web browsing is great (not so great for streaming, 800 mb is not enough to stream an entire movie).

NL: Data does not imply either phone calls or txts. Data implies web usage. You use data to access the Internet when you don't have access to wifi.
