LOL. Looks like I wrote that post. When I am the buyer I do not negotiate up, I negotiate down from my original offer.

131 pesos from Ermita to Terminal 3 in an Uber the other morning.

    T1 Yellow taxi

I arrived at Terminal 1 and got a Yellow taxi to Makati hotel. We took the skyway and there was no traffic to speak of. Getting on to the skyway I noticed the meter was already past 200. I mentioned he had a fast meter but he said it was working fine. By the time we got to my hotel the meter was 675 pesos. I just patiently got my bags out and got the hotel guys to take my baggage inside then confronted the driver about the meter. I said usual charge was 250 and I would pay him that. He proceeded to argue about it and I dropped my offer down to 150.

Then he said he would take 250 and I told him that it was too late for 250. He argued a bit more and I decided to screw him and walked away. My last words to him was "you tried to screw me and now I am screwing you, you lost today".

    La cafe.

So dropped by LAC last night at midnight, many ladies like Thursday only two worth propositioning but didn't work out. Ended up with my third choice, not a looker in my books but a decent lay (didn't want to leave empty handed).

I guess for the weekend Fri. / Sat one must get there earlier in the evening.

Midnight is good for a Thursday but maybe 10 pm is better for Fri. / Sat.

Most FL know where to go. Otherwise, there are several under USD50 family hotels in the area. Same with the Burgos area. If you plan to play, you can check in and use it multiple times. You can tip housekeeping to change sheets in between. Works even with name brand hotels.

    LA Cafe.

After a nice afternoon with a tinder chick and a late meet up with a girl from badoo I headed to LA Cafe.

Dropped by around midnight last night "Thursday" and there were tons of beautiful ladies. In the past I'the Be pressed to find one. Last night was a smorgasbord, wish I took my time to choose but I hate sticking around for too long and usually pop on the first pretty face that smiles at me. (Shows she's a go getter).

Will be with some young locals at Valkyrie tonight for a birthday party, if I don't score one of them by midnight I look forward to making the trip to LA Cafe.

LOL! Exactly what a WG once told me. I took some friends to LAC and was just playing tour guide so told a girl to go grab my friends' tools and not mine. She said they were not interested in her so wasn't going to approach them.

Agree that there really is no reason for a filipino male to approach me. If I need help then I ask.

Contrary to what some of his supporters on the forum might have you believe, Rodrigo Duterte has not stationed government employees at all the corners to help lead you to the 42 virgins. Here's a nearly universal law: A Filipino stranger who approaches you with offers of help does not really want to help you; he wants some of your money.

I had to laugh because it is actually sales tactics taught and used in the US. Usually by TV satellite companies that start with a the. You find them all over the place, especially at big box companies. A couple dollars is small price to pay compared to a multiyear contract.

As with Turgid, I have taken their offer, eyes wide open, if I am new to a location. But only from hotel staff or taxi drivers whereby I have a picture of their license and car plates. For them to show me around, I am willing to pay for their time. The good thing is that this is not the Americas or Europe or Eastern Europe where you can really get reamed.

I know several visitors who were cheated. Some were really pissed off until I point out their loses or over payment were usually way under US100.

There are guys like that in one form or another all over the world. Prior to my knowledge of ISG I sometimes availed myself of their services together with taxi drivers and hotel workers in my pursuit of carnal delights during my travels. The worst I encountered was: "it seems as if girls are all working" whereupon an argument over payment would ensue with the guy complaining bitterly over my last offer given upon my departure. Most of the times I would partake of one of the offerings. Fortunately for me I was never robbed or worse as happened to a friend of mine in Colombia many years ago.

The psychology of the scam is that the guy wants to ingratiate himself with you. He wants you to think you're the best of buddies. It starts with a lie like "I work at your hotel. " All he needs is an entrance to getting a conversation going. After he strings you along for awhile, he hits you up with a charity request. It worked on me the first time I encountered it. I had come out of the Boulevard Mansion Hotel, crossed the street, and was strollling around the Baywalk park area. He comes up to me, claims he works at the hotel, and described watching me carry in my luggage a few nights earlier. Then he wants to know where I'm from, like Mr. E's guy. Other questions are feeling me out, like the way p4ps ask you about how long you've been in the Phils, is it your first trip to the Phils, etc. Then my guy points to a couple kids and a woman, saying they're his family, and one of the girls has her birthday today. But he doesn't have enough money for cake and ice cream, and his daughter is really disappointed. A pretty good pitch. It worked. I gave him a few hundred pesos. The wife and kids all nodded toward me and smiled. This particular family looked a little ramshackle, and since he had the whole family with him, it's very likely they neeeded the money. But if my senses had been about me, I should have picked up on his having no teeth on the front of his upper jaw. He claimed to be a doorman, but I should have questioned whether a hotel wants a toothless man to be the guests' first encounter with the hotel. In other cases where I have been hit up with the "I know you" introduction, it has been single men, a little better dressed, and no family nearby. I now always dispatch them pretty directly.

Another typical scam is a guy wants to help you find something. I had one of these in Robinson's hardware at the Ermita mall. I told him I knew what I needed and didn't need help finding it. He tagged along anyway. When I got to the cash register he wanted to help me pay. I suspect his m. o. was a sleight-of-hand in which he ultimately pockets some of my money. I passed on his offer of help, and as I was walking away, suddenly he could find me women for sex. We were a flight of stairs and three blocks from LAC, so I damn sure didn't need help finding women. I read posts in the forum where some guy claims that a helpful cab driver or somebody they met in a bar helped them find the best kept secret treasure trove of women. In my view these are not wise moves. You've ended up paying additional money to a middle man, when all the information you need for getting access to good Pinay p4ps has been posted in this forum. RTFF is a hell of a lot smarter than accepting the help of a Filipino stranger.

Another time I was just turning the corner at Santa Monica and del Pilar in Ermita, probably headed for the Hobbit House. I was walking fairly fast, so this guy had to work to keep up with me. He first complimented the tennies I was wearing, wanted to know where I was from, "oh yeah, my sister's a nurse and she wants to take a job in your state, but I don't know if it's safe," yada, yada, yada. So wherever it was I was headed, he suddenly wanted to help me buy something unnecessary, maybe one of the Hobbit House t-shirts they sold at the entrance. He suggested I might not know their currency very well, so I should hand him my wallet and let him select the right denominations. Oh sure. When I went inside, he took off.

So there may be other scams, but I've experienced these two. Both involve ingratiating themselves with you so you'll drop your guard. In one the pitch is to hit up your compassionate side. The other is built around an attempt at sleight-of-hand. Guys who want to help you at a money changing outlet are particularly lethal.

    Another variant

Another variant of the "I work at your hotel" scam is to wait within eyesight of your hotel entrance. They see you come out of the hotel and wait until you've walked a short distance off. Then they approach you. The "let's go take a photo with your co-workers" response is very useful in these situations.
