I'm flying in 12 days, so I just started searching dating apps to pre-qualify one or two dates. I plan on doing a mix of app girls, freelancers (who can also be app girls of course), and BF girls over the 16 days I will be there.

Makati is safe but it is also a business district and therefore not many people there at night especially walking. That means it is good for robbers. At night I would feel more safe walking in shadier bar filled party areas where there are always people on the streets. Not a good idea to walk those quiet streets of Makati or close to big roads like Skyways etc. At night. Even worse idea to fight for your belongings if someone is holding a gun on you.

I always check out the state of the old Amazonia bar whenever I am in Manila: here it is as of a few months ago.

After it burned, it was used as a flea market for a year or two. But that shut down and its been closed since at least the start of Covid. Ahhhhh. . . The good old daze.

Amazonia caught fire and burned about 5 years ago. It closed for good a year or so prior. Also good memories playing pool there, and there was a regular live band that played 70's rock-and-roll.

It was 11 pm and sleep was a tempting proposition but it was good to catch up over a quiet beer. We met at G point, on the opposite block to my hotel, a bar popular with expats as it has an extensive western food menu and a number of generally older freelance girls. I got my first wink of the trip from a foxy girl wearing double denim.

Word of caution. Sometimes the girls are in on this. Never ever walk on the street past midnight. Take a cab even if it is walkable distance. None of the bystanders intervene if you are being robbed. Do not be a hero. Just handover your money. Carry only local money enough for your nightly excursion. Do not take your wallet, do not wear jewellery, expensive watch. Do not flash your cell phone. Although violent robbing is rare ending in death. Maybe this guy wanted to be an hero in front of the girl.

LA Cafe but it is as good as ever, jam-packed with eager girls, many of them pretty and even a few outstanding ones. It remains one of my favourite bars in Asia.

I remember in previous trips the French Baker being stated as a good place to pick up freelancers, as it is located near the Adriatico entrance and has seating outside. I'm not sure whether that still applies these days. According to the forum freelancers tend to congregate around the main entrance.

The French Baker is not a good place to pick up FL. Starbucks is choice, at the Pedro Gil entrance; sit at the tables inside the mall and face the atrium (the area where the Christmas tree is placed; pic attached).

You previously mentioned Bedrock bar. Its at the base of Birch Tower on Bocobo St. The bar area is called Belagio Square. Pic attached. Bedrock bar was previously on Adriatico St, it too burned about 7 years ago.
