    Subic

I posted earlier about my Manila trip, so here goes about my trip to Subic!

I took the bus line from Manila to Subic. I am not sure of the line, but it was recommended by staff at the hotel. It was from one of the bus stations in Manila, I took a cab to get there. It made a short stop in Angeles, then one stop at the bus station in Subic. If I remember correctly, the trip from the station in Manila to Subic took about 2 hours.

From the bus station, I took a trike to the Wild Orchard hotel. On my return to Manila, the hotel arranged the bus. Is was a little more expensive. Not really that much, but it had several stops in Subic, then several stops in Angeles, so it took longer, and in addition, got caught in the late traffic in Manila. If I make this trip again, I will use the commercial buses.

The Wild Orchard was very satisfactory to me, a big nice pool, decent restaurant, a good bar. And the rooms were spacious and clean. It was also about a ten minute walk to the Bario Barretta area. I really didn't read that much on the forum about Subic before I went, but just wanted to get out of Manila for a few days. At the pool, someone told me that the Hideout in the Bario was the place to go. I was only in Subic for two days, so I mostly wanted to relax, so I hung out by the pool and beach most of the daytime hours. No sure what girls are available during the day. There weren't many people on the beach near the hotel, but I did make eye contact with a couple of girls.

What little reading I did on the forum prior to this trip indicated that there weren't many young girls in the Bario. At the Hideout, that was not true at all. All the girls appeared to be 18 to early 20's. I usually prefer a freelancer, DIA girl in the 30's, not any walking around town, and not much time to connect on FC, DIA, etc. , even though I had made a few contacts before the trip. (see Manila report). The Hideout is a building with 5 or 6 separate clubs. Each of them has a change, much like a strip club. The girls get on the stage and dance with clothes on, bathing suits, etc. For the most part, just ass shaking, nothing sensual usually. I walked for a couple of hours from club to club. Most of the girls look silly dancing on the stage, but that's life.

I talked to a bar manager about 35 that seemed intelligent and was attractive, I tried to get her to meet me the next day for dinner, drinks. I think it would have been possible if I were there longer and she had a day off. I went to another club as it was getting late and finally made my selection. Again, I should have read the forum, I probably overpaid for the bar fine. I gave $2000 pesos, then off to the room.

This girl was slim, about 20 yrs, about 4'10, longer straight hair, very pretty. Small breasts, but enough to hang on to. But, she was terrible in bed. No BBBJ, licking, etc. I finally got her to do CBJ, but not much skills. She kept telling me I was to big, I could tell she was uncomfortable. We stopped for a while, she didn't want to do mish again, I finally just had her do HJ. I should have sent her off, but it was late. During the night, she was very loving in a girl friend way, kissing and didn't take her arms off off me, but in the morning, I sent her off. I think she wanted to stay, but I only had one more day. I gave her $500 more pesos, even though I shouldn't have.

I hung around the beach and pool during the day. I find most of the food in Phil average at best, I ate at a couple of the beach restaurants. One of them was a steak place near the Orchid, I thought the steak was mediocre. I ate some dim sum at another beach place near the hotel, also mediocre. The hamburger at the Orchid was decent.

In the early evening, I went to some of the bars outside the entrance to the hotel. A few bands playing, no single girls that I saw. Mostly couples. I went back to the Hideout, had several drinks, then selected a girl I had seen last night. Similar in build to the other girls, but she looked more "Asian", meaning if she told me she was Chinese, I wouldn't have argued. Her skin was more like a Chinese girl, not quite as tan as some of the Phil girls.

She was also about 20 yrs old. Much better skills, good BJ, multiple positions, multiple shots. She stayed the night also. I paid about $2500 total, including the bar fine.

I think at this place, the bar fine is up to the girl and part of the total fee. I would have to read up more, but you agree to the bar fine before leaving, then if you give them anything else, that is up to you. It seems that the bar fine + $500 pesos is standard for good service.

I would spend time in Subic again, maybe back track to Angeles. I is nice and relaxing, maybe more busy other times of the year. I didn't hit any other clubs, or see if there were freelance places, but this was more than enough.

Sorry for mistypes, but no time to proofread at the moment.

I think its "Southern Cross Shuttle" and not Kings Cross Shuttle.

Baloy Beach is in Olongapo. Not Subic city.

Every once in a while I like to point out that there are two threads for this area -- Olongapo and Subic City. Treasure Island Hotel and the foreigner-friendly bars are all located inside the Olongapo municipal boundaries. The beach areas are closer to Subic City than downtown Olongapo. The two threads should be merged to avoid confusion. The bars of Subic City are not for the faint of heart. Baloy beach or Barreto are search terms that should get you other info related to the location the Cup tries to describe. Of course both municipalities are located at the deep-water port that is called Subic Bay -- former naval base for the US 7th fleet (in Olongapo of course).

The two foreigner-friendly bus services (one of which Dcup cannot name) are the Swagman Fly the Bus and the King's Cross Shuttle (Ermita hotel names are embedded in both names). Both have web pages if you search.

X Man (D Cup calls me "the guy who thinks he knows everything" and of course he's not well informed about that either).

Note: Another interesting search term is "sea story". ISG members might enjoy the erotic sea stories of 7th fleet sailors who've landed at Subic Bay. Back in the day, the clubs in downtown Olongapo had dance floors and we danced with the go go girls. Bario Barreto (beach area) was really laid back, and gals often had rooms upstairs. I once stumbled downstairs thinking the bar was still open, hoping for one last beer. The bar was closed, the lights were off, and a shipmate was having his way with one of the gals on the pool table. Ah, the good ol' days.

Good food, too. As for getting there, take the bus that runs to Wild Orchid in AC or Subic and also delivers to a hotel (name unrecalled) in Ermita. It was only 1100 P (one-way). I'd recommend taking it to AC for a night or two then go to Subic. The bars in Subic were fun. A mini-AC.

Travel to Subic area from NAIA

Pull cash from an ATM before you leave the terminal.

    Taxi / Van Service.

Beeway Travel offers a taxi service to Subic / Angeles, and other locations. They can be booked through their web site. To Subic the fares are 4,500-5000 p.

    BeewayTravel.com

I have heard that either the Arizona Resort or Treasure Island (Barrio Baretto area) have a pick up service.

White Taxi's from the airport will take riders to Subic. The posted fare is 3570 p, but they will expect you to pay tolls both way, and that will bring it up to 4500-4700 p (to Olongapo, maybe a couple of hundred more all the way to Baretto). The White taxi's are a good choice if you have a lot of stuff or several people, and don't want to book a car. Sometimes there will be a wait for a taxi. Be aware that some of the drivers may not know how to go to Subic. Have them drive like they are going to Angeles, and then catch the SCTEX to Subic, instead of getting off at Clark / AC. Its not hard.

    Bus.

Victory Bus. Pasay Bus terminal. Use the "Olongapo" or "Iba" Victory Liner bus and best to use the one that runs on the Subic Expressway (via SCTEX) there will be a sign in the front window. Fare is about 160 p. Last I heard the schedules are 3 am, 4:30 am, 5:30 am, then every two hours until 5 pm. (that seems early to stop running though?

Get to Pasay Bus Terminal via taxi (200 p), or use the airport shuttle bus and get out at Terminal 3 and walk to the station. Also Victory Liner has announced a shuttle bus service. I haven't used it. Supposed to pick up at all NAIA terminals from 5 am-10 pm. 20 p fare, look for "HM Transport Shuttle Bus". This service may be very slow however.

Victory Liner will stop at Harbor Point in Subic Freeport, get off here if you are staying in the Freeport. Then the bus stops at the Victory Liner station in Olongapo. From here you can take a trike into Olongapo. (20-40 p).

Victory Liner station to Barrio Baretto / Baloy Beach:

Jeepney: walk across the street and get in a Blue Jeepney. Give him 20 p and you will get change back. I believe its 12 p to Baretto. Only do this if you travel light.

Trike: a trike can take you to Baretto for about 150-200 p.

Taxi: get off at Harbor Point, white SBMA taxi's are nearby. They will take you to Baretto I am not sure but the fare may be 200-300 p.

5 Star IIRC Bus. Some people have used this service from their Northbound Terminal near Ortigas, to Dau (near Angeles City), then take a Victory Liner from Dau on to Olongapo. The advantage is their station is on the northbound side of the road, while Victory Liner has to make a you-Turn around Mall of Asia.

A trip from NAIA to Subic could take 3-4 hours or.

    Going to NAIA from Subic.

Taxi. White SMBA taxi's can be found near Harbor Point on Subic Freeport, and around SM City in Olongapo nearby. You can negotiate a trip to NAIA. There are also unofficial "tourist" cars around.

Van Service. You could use the scheduled van service from Treasure Island or Arizona Resort. Or Beeway Travel.

Victory Liner from Olongapo. Again, look for the bus that uses SCTEX. Allow for plenty of time as twaffic can be very slow in Manila, and airport security needs time to put bullets in your luggage. Allow 4-6 hours, or more! Traveling on Sunday is the fastest. Some have gone to Manila the night before, and stayed at places like Sogo or Air Force One.

First Victory liner via SCTEX leaves Olongapo at 310 am and the last one (to Cubao) leaves at 8:20 pm. I've got photos of the schedule I may post later.

There's no way that I'm prepaying a hotel without and a third party intermediary (like Agoda for example) that would refund me if there was an issue prior to my going. I'm finding this hard to reconcile with the generally very positive reviews about the hotel and the service level there. Any thoughts?

I am looking to get a deluxe room with their internet advertised price of 2495 pesos a night for 3 nights (7485 pesos or roughly $160) and they are asking me to pay $350 USD. What's up with that?
Talking to the manager last week, their website got hacked, along with their email. Their new email is Arizonasubicbay@gmail.com. Make sure you are talking to the Arizona. Gavin is the manager.

Most Dryden group bars start negotiations at 2000 p but if you are not desparate and willing to haggle, could get it down to 1500-1700 p. But most don't like to haggle with the girls as it may kill the mood and reflect poorly later. Also easier to get a lower rate as it gets later in the night but most likely could lose the cuter girls to another customer willing to accept her rates.
Was in Subic last week on business. Paid barfines at T-Rose (PHP1,700) and Alaska Club (PHP1,500) twice. All three girls stayed LT without asking. The first I kept on for a few days as she was great. Never asked for anything. Gave me a very good and free manicure and pedicure, and a very good two-hour whole body massage every day, plus wanted to play at the slightest indication of intent. Wonderful. The other two stayed to 8:00 am and 10:00 am respectively and did their jobs as requested.

Like you said, its because Subic is only about 1/10 the size of AC. So much less girls to choose from and therefore maybe little harder to find a hottie. Its a numbers game and AC will win out all the time.

Most importantly treat the ladies with respect & have fun. It'll be returned in spades. If you really want to ensure all goes well find the mamasan, buy her a drink & tell her exactly what you're looking for & let her know you're there for a few days or more. I agree that you can have cheap fun in the bars. The women are fun in general and laid back. But in terms of taking out and long times, that can be a little tougher. I personally think the talent levels have dropped considerably compared to couple of years ago. I also have had issues with most doing the short time thing as Engine Driver explained below. I don't have that issue in Angeles. Sure there are a bunch who will only do short time, but a much much higher percentage will be doing long time in Angeles at least for me.

The diving wasn't up to, say, Cayman standards, but the combination of morning dives and evening chica-rides. That's my ideal vacation. I've taken that model to Boca Chica, and to Pattaya, Thailand. And I'm planning in late January to follow it in Barrio Barretto and Subic Bay, with a few days to explore Angeles City.

I may test that theory, my first night in-country. Especially since I'll probably reach MNL after dark, and I want to make the trip from MNL to Subic in daylight. As far as your assessment of Subic goes, I can only hope that "YMMV" holds true for me.
