Hey guys just looking for some quick initial info before I dive into some research. Waited for the Philippines to open again since 2 years ago when I had to cancel my entire trip for obvious reasons. I heard it was open again and read about a few basic requirements, TRAZE app etc so I booked my tickets. My plan is 1 month in Olongopo in April as a I have a girl there. I come to this section of the forum and I'm reading about restricted travel and movement, s-passes and chest x-rays. Damn this doesn't sound like open to me. Yes maybe I pulled the trigger too quickly. I checked Subic and it says restricted, so how would I get to Subic bay from the airport if it's restricted and I need a local number to get a pass.
If I had of know about this nonsense I would not have booked and I may even cancel because it sounds ridiculous. Please provide some initial guidance.

Lotta times you'the run into cute girls along the way. Hard to get though, Duma isn't the best place for girls. They been warned from birth about our type. Haha. Sounds like youll have a blast. Wish the fuck they wouldnt have closed Coco Amigos. You used to get an insane chicken enchilada with a couple of sides, some unique black beans and corn, and jalapeo salsa. 210 pesos. I still have wet dreams about that sometimes.

This kind of thing only applies to locations with restrictions.

I signed a two-year lease for a nice home in Valencia west of Dumaguete yesterday. I have only been to Makati and Cebu City since I arrived February 18. My potential cebuana girlfriend is coming from Cebu to visit me this coming Wednesday so we will see how that goes. She's 20, stacked and beautiful. Hopefully she will want to move in with me, finish her degree and raise rug rats. I'm 66 so I'm not getting any younger. Valencia is a great municipality. Lush forest, temperature range 18 to 26 C (64 - 79 F). I am teaming up with other local musicians to set up a band in my house with a pool. Cheers.

* A related side. This happened almost a year into the pandemic. A lot has changed since then (due to continually changing restrictions, whether national, province, city, or Brgy), but it relates to movement from city to city. Its important to remember that this happened THEN, not RECENTLY.
At the time I was considering traveling from city "L" to city "M", by bus. Silly me, I didn't think. A year after the hard lockdowns had turned into lighter lockdowns in the area, I thought it was just a matter of once again jumping on the bus and going to city M. However, I was aware that there was at least one PNP checkpoint just past the city limits going north. By that time, checkpoints were allowing most traffic unfettered passing. Busses had to stop and passengers disembark to force them to step on a bleach-pad to disinfect their shoes, then back on the bus and on your way. One of my expat friends told me that I might need a city "Exit Pass" (or such). A city exit pass? Really? One would think that they might require an Entry Pass, a negative Covid test, a doctor's note, or such. But an exit pass?
The mayor's office was close by so I stopped in and inquired. "Yes sir you go in the Health office and get an exit pass. Very easy". I toddled off to the Health office and inquired. "Yes sir you need an exit pass. Can not depart the city without it. Within 72 hours before your departure". Check. "You will need your chest Xray. You can get at any lab. We have a lab near here if you like. Bring us the Xray". Check. "Within 72 hours prior to your departure sir. Its important". Check. I started to walk away, thinking of a lab that's close to my place. "Oh sir. Don't forget your doctor's note. Bring it". What doctor's note? "A doctor must examine your Xray". Check. I went to the lab up the street and got the Xray and doctor's written description of my Xray (about p300), and brought it back to the Health dept and they issued the Exit Pass. "You show that to anyone who wants to see it when you depart the city". Check.
That evening, city M announced that they were closing the city to everyone entering, due to Covid case increases. Great! Having the pass in hand, I changed gears and decided to go to city "P". Everything went off without a hitch departing my city L and entering city P. In fact, at 2 checkpoints, with my Xray and Exit Pass in hand, nobody asked me (or anyone else) for an 'Exit Pass' (or anything). Great! At one checkpoint as passengers were exiting the bus to go thru the foot-bath, an uniformed army guy (complete with machine gun) stepped on the bus and walked thru. "Sir are you a Senior?" Ya I am. "No need to exit the bus sir. Just you relax and enjoy the aircon". Thanks guy. He moved on down the aisle. Hey fella? Do you need to see my Exit -- hey where are you going? Do you want to see my -- hey I have my -- Where are you going? Nevermind! Upon arrival at the bus terminal in city P, I took a taxi to my new diggs -- no problem.
That was THEN. This is NOW. Everything changed in between, multiple times. In the new city P, things went from medium lockdown, to hard, to medium, to hard, to medium, to light. S-Pass (supposedly) keeps up to date and will tell you what conditions and documents for travel between your city and your upcoming city -- at that time.

Would it be reasonable to conclude from the inactivity on this forum that Subic is equally deserted and not open for business. I was of the understanding that at least a few bars were operating, albeit in a limited capacity.
Anyone on the ground?
