Good report on the Fort. There is an international airport there as well.I go to Ilocos Sur every year and I often travel up to Laoag(Ilocos Norte) for a bit of a change. Your right, there isn't too much to do at night, but it sounds as though you didn't visit Barrio Uno, the city's famous "red light district", everyone knows how to get there if you ask them. It is a neighborhood packed with about 15 to 20 bars not too many lookers but if you take your time you can find something good. I'm headed that way in 2 1/2 weeks after a couple of days in AC...

Posts: 213Batman: are there direct flights to Laoag from HK? PAL used to fly to Laoag from Hawai but no more. Looking to go to Illocos without having to go through Manila.
Xman: About Camiguin:
TAKE THE PLANE. Trust me on this. The other route is a major pain in the you know what that takes almost a full day versus a 30 minute flight to Mactan. Bring a girl with you. Stay longer than 3 days. Camiguin is one of the PI's best kept secrets. Because there is ZERO p4p action there and few ISG members will ever go there, I can discuss it on this board.
Leyte: VERY boring nightlife, really none to speak of. The most religious island in all the PI I think. Absolutely loaded with sweet girls, almost all of whom are VERY friendly with ANY foreigner they see (not many). The good diving in at the South end of the island, not by Ormoc.

Posts: 230Fort Ilocandia Resort and Casino Laoag, Luzon
I had asked before for some info on ths place but seems no one haad ever been there.
I finally made it there for new years so............
Fort Ilocandia Resort and Casino Laoag, Luzon is a very nice beach front place but remote. it is about 20 minutes in a taxi/jeepny to Laoag the closest city to the resort. The city of Laoag is typical small city in PI. Limited shopping and things to do. They do have a Mcdonalds. I looked around for action one night when I was able to leave my GF with her friends and head into the city. The only place I found was what I have attached in this photo. there were only a few girls there and they were not very good but it seemed to be the only action in town.
If you go, take a girl with you is my suggestion.
This Resort is set up for Chinese tourists and is owned by a Hong Kong Company

Posts: 4567Next trip I fly direct to Cebu, and then thinking about this:
1) a return trip to CDO (and environs). I went there two years ago.
2) a newbie trip to Ormoc, Leyte
1) Others have already given great info about Malberry hotel. Thanks. I'll be chasing online gals, but i recently hear about a place called Spooks (gogo bar 3,000 pesos /$70). Does anyone have any details? Location? Ex-girlfriend phone numbers? Mamasan's name?
Last time I stayed at Dynasty, and never made it to Xcite, the disco next door. It did keep me awake though. My best memories of the hotel were some especially fine-looking, early 20ish reception staff. One was 5'7, the other 5'5 (with braces). I got both of their email addresses, and sent them the pic I took, but somehow can't find them now.
Camiguin....can anyone elaborate?
I understand: you can fly from Cebu with SEAir (www.flyseair). THe alternative is find transportation for the 80km from CDO to Balingoan, and then take a ferry to the south part of the island. The airport is on the north side. I've seen beautiful white sand beach pics, but other said it's the only white sand beach...
2) 20 years of going to Philippines, and loving the little brown beauties of Leyte, but I've never made it to this place. I've found a recommendation for a hotel near the port/ park / bayfront. (thanks ds)
Does anyone have advice about a beach? Snorkeling? I'm not a diver.
Of course any and all info would be greatly appreciated.
X Man ( someone who rarely posts here, so hope I'll be forgiven for asking for help)

Its a place for the experienced not newbies. (I dont know what your category is)
There are many girls from the area hanging out on dating sites, DIA is one good source. So it is possible to arrange some girls to meet when you get there.
The girls you will meet there are husband hunting & have no experience of playing games with foreigners. Your not likely to find girls who will put out for a little donation.. ahem
There is a nice black sand beach over near b'gy galas. Its the real philippines there. You will be the ONLY foreigner on the beach, in the street etc most of the time.
Foreigners are not unknown (there is a small enclave living in a new sub division) and are very welcome.

Posts: 213Don't Expect Much Action in Dipolog or Puerto Princessa
pakawan is certainly a place to bring your own action. i presume the guy asking about dipolog is planning on going to dakak beach resort. dapitan/dipolog likely has some local oriented action, but very few foreigners go there and most dakak guests never leave the resort. ozamis or oroquieta city would likely be much better (i brought a girl to dakak and only ventured out once and found not much of interest).

discussion of anything pertaining to **** girls is not allowed on most websites so i only wish to mention that the death penalty only technically applied to "child [CodeWord123]" (meaning a girl below 12)in the philippines, and that was before the death penalty was abolished entirely several years ago. however, after a period of confinement in a philippine prison the death penalty might seem desirable (comparatively speaking) to most foreigners.

Posts: 4567nightlife in Cagayan De Oro?
I dated regular women when I was in CDO. Did pretty well too. Below is a compliation of info I copied from earlier posts. Most of it is old. I think the original posters were GE, Mahku and possible some others. I hope they don't mind this cut and paste.
***
Cagayan de Oro
I spent a couple of weeknights around a cluster of shops called 'The Site.'
The name would seem to be a ripoff of The Venue in Davao, but really there is no comparison. Most of the places here are coffee shops and restaurants. There's just one live band place upstairs. On the weeknights it was an acoustic band doing mellow stuff like Norah Jones tunes. I didn't see any girls to hit on either of these nights. But it might get going over the weekend. Also, I hear they have parking lot parties here sometimes.
Xcite bar, which I mentioned in the last post, was closed on Sunday and Monday.
Divisoria Street: This is the boulevard like strip in the middle of town that has a lot of fast food joints. On weekend nights the traffic is blocked off and it becomes a huge block party with lots of food stands and what not.
Home Court Bar: This is one of the strip bars mentioned by GE a while back. I went in here one night after I sent my girl home, and had a talk with the mama san. It's really not a very appealing scene, with about 30 guys ogling only one dancer at a time. A FEW of the dancers are seriously good looking, others are fairly repulsive. The mama san said that 185 pesos gets you 30 minutes to talk to one of the dancers (like a Japanese hostess bar, but cheaper). You can also get a private room for 1500 pesos, which includes lots of drinks. There you can negotiate with the girl for whatever action you want. When they aren't dancing, the girls are waiting in a fish bowl in the back where you can check them out and choose. Finally, you can bar fine for 3000, take the girl home and negotiate for her cut. This is the only bar of this kind that I visited, but I have a feeling the others will be something similar. So you can see it's not worth a special visit to Cagayan for any bargirl scene.
Italian restaurant: Go straight out the door from Dynasty Court, cross the street, keep going straight for about 100 feet. It's run by an expat Italian.
There's white water rafting for 1200 per person. Besides that there is the usualy mall and movie stuff. The beaches are just outside of town with some of that dark sand.
So to sum up Cagayan, it's a great place for a GFE with a girl that you've been chatting with for some time, or with a girl that you meet here and court for a day or two. If you are really stuck and needy then the bargirl stuff exists for a higher price and lower quality than more well-known locales.
Taxis from the airport to town are about 120 or so. From Pryce Plaza to town about 50.
I haven't experienced or heard of a hotel that's not guest friendly. The Pryce Plaza is, well, prycey and not so central. But I like being away from all the damn traffic noise and diesel fumes. And I like having a gym and a pool.
Mahku 8.05 Cagayan de Oro
We went to the Xcite live band bar across the street from Dynasty Court Hotel. Even though we were pretty early there were still a couple of tables of office girl types. They looked approachable enough and I would like to have tried. This place usually has pretty good bands so it's good to hang out even if you don't connect with anyone.
Cagayan is a college town so the malls and the streets are a parade of eye candy. I consider this place like a smaller version of Davao. There are lots of possibilities to chat up a girl from here on the internet and then have her ready and waiting for you when you arrive.
Pryce Plaza Hotel. Depending on the season and how busy they are you can pay anywhere from 2000 to 4000 for a room with a great view of the town and beyond. I find a good view helps a girl to get horny. Unfortunately this place, like so many others in this country, suffers from neglect and is falling apart one shower head at a time. Dynasty Court is good and centrally located though it doesn't have a pool or a gym. I stayed at Country Village Hotel the first night because the Pryce was full. But it's also falling apart and the shower didn't really work. It's also not a good location.
Cagayan de Oro / GE
Bar fines are high, PhP3,000-3,500 which includes full service for as long as you like. All of the girls however, I'm told, will make an arrangement to meet you later. Three of the clubs: Bada Bing, On Tic, and Home Court are on the same block, and it's easy to walk from one to the other. There's little or no pressure in the bar to buy drinks or to buy ladies drinks which are PhP250. In short, the atmosphere is pretty relaxed, fairly friendly, and it's easy to have a good time. There are very, very few expats, so you will attract some attention if you go, but no hostility.
Best of all perhaps, CDO is a very safe city. There has been no violence there in years, and you can walk the streets in without fear. Taxis (metered) are abundant, and I did notice a smattering of street walkers. I'm told that the best club is Pyramid, which I did not see. It's somewhat outside of the city. There's another called Cora's which I noticed in passing, and numerous other KTVs around the town.
I stayed at the Dynasty, with a deluxe room for P1,600. It was hardly spectacular, but it was clean and comfortable, and it had air conditioning and cable TV. The bar of choice remains Bada Bing, which has 20 or 25 really pretty ladies who start dancing semi-nude and get down to skin and shoes quickly. The barfine is steep at P3,500, which inlcudes the girl's time and the mama sans are a bit of a pain in the ass. The girls are happy to meet you after the 2 AM closing if you want to avoid the fine. I'm told that the Pyramid Bar has more girls than Bada Bing, but I never went there. There are also lots of smaller KTV/Disco bars all over town and women on the street.
5 hours by air conditioned bus from Davao.

Another report says the company has won a bid to build an airport in Mindanao, but the article doesn't say where. Does anyone know where this might be?

Does anyone know if the floating bar is still around? . I read somewhere that there was no floating bar anymore. I'll be in Sabang in the middle of March. I'll be reporting on the situation there. Thanks.
