My observations of the Koreans in Sabang is that they get the girls early, take them off to dinner where they let them eat and drink what they want, they themselves get drunk, take them home. Not sure and don't care about the sincerity (LOL), but one advantage about Sabang from Angeles was that it was normal for the girl to spend long time with you. It seems the Koreans are mostly young who want to fuck multiple times (only normal sex; it seems they aren't into BJs or lesbian stuff).

I will be heading to Puerto Princesa starting the second week of December (just a couple more weeks! I've scrubbed the internet including this site, and unless I missed something, I could not find much in terms of where to find decent go go bars or freelance joints. I did find one report on indicating Phoenix and Equus were decent as well as an area just outside of town known as San Pedro where you can find cheaper girly bars bars like Rabay, Body Chat, and Waray-Waray Bar located on Pineda Road.

Does anyone have any suggestions or guidance or better yet, real experience on where to go for a good time in Puerto Princesa in terms of finding freelancers or gogo bars? I will be staying in the downtown area near the airport.

Pretty much all of Asia has suffered. Nowhere in SE Asia is as good as before. It's like drinking watered down drinks. The buzz factor keeps getting lower and lower. I am sure I and other appreciate your update on Sabang. I have been twice but now lament how it used to be. With the beach as you describe it, the hassle of no direct banka there, the increase to 4,000, the Korean bias and esp the hit and miss performance one wonders why a monger would visit. If the hot chicks are all gone, there are heaps of reasonable looking freelancers plying their trade on the street behind the beach. They are also at the Big Apple Dive Resort Bar, getting free drinks off the Australians and winning money against the Brits at the pool table.

All bar fines have gone up to 4,000 PHP now. They used to be 3,000 PHP before. Freelancer rate is 1,500 PHP.

Sabang Beach in Puerto Galera is indeed a mini Korea Town, but worth visiting if you want to take part in both forms of diving. Scuba and muff. Unless you are into scuba diving, it's not worth going there for the girls alone.

I've just returned from there after a few days and here are my thoughts.

There are basically three ways to get there from Manila.

1. Sea plane. There is a daily (except Tuesday) sea plane service from Manila Bay to Puerto Galera. Price is 6,000 PHP one way and it's a 40 minute flight.

2. Car. Just hire a taxi to take you to Batangas Port. It should be 90 minutes by car. Then take the ferry to Muelle Pier. Not sure of the exact taxi price, but should be around 4,000 PHP.

3. Bus. Take the JAM bus line from Manila's Buendia bus station in Pasay to Batangas Port. Then get the ferry to Muelle Pier and then a trike to your hotel at Sabang Beach.

The ferry service no longer operates to Sabang Pier, so you need to go to Muelle Pier nowadays and take a trike to Sabang. They have closed Sabang Pier because they are building a waste water treatment plant on that site. A shit farm for Puerto Galera is long overdue. What hits you at Sabang beach is the constant stench of raw sewage. They are presently just pumping primary treated sewage right at the beach, and you can see a thick film of greasy black stuff on the shore. I saw kids playing in the water there. It can't be doing them much good.

The trike fare from Muelle Pier to Sabang Beach has been set by the mafia at 150 PHP for a 15 minute ride. The road is also being upgraded to Sabang Beach, so everything is a little chaotic now.

What they really need is a 6-month shutdown of Sabang Beach so some sort of order to the shore line can be established. At the moment, it is one big, stinking shit hole (literally).

Very few Westerners will go there so typically the "girls" you chat to from there will be looking for you to send money to buy a flight ++ so they can come and visit you. If the "girl" has high quality pics with a model like face and plenty of skin and is from Zambo be especially wary.

Also first rule: Never send money to someone you have not met yet.

If you really want a girl to fly in to see you, have her send her ID to you. You want to make sure you get the spelling and birth date right. Then buy the ticket. You may still lose the price of the ticket, but she (or in some cases he) will not be able to pocket the money. If they try and cancel the money goes back to the original payment method.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. I haven't been back for years but I'm getting almost daily reports from trustworthy (ex) residents that Sabang is waaaay down on western tourist numbers and that the tone of the town has changed considerably. Hopefully it is "AC is failing" again and I can be proven wrong but I doubt it.

Are you looking for beaches or diving? I'd agree that the pot of gold (beach, diving, and girls) is becoming very rare.
