Posts: 4567Sorry, off topic, but related to the last few posts...
It's not always possible to have a cell phone available on the first trip to the Philippines. I highly recommend buying one soon after arrival. I bought mine used and it has been a very good investment.
My next visit, I have to do some juggling of the ladies...if you know what I mean. How much does it cost to get a second sim card? I need to have two seperate numbers. One for the keeper, one for the others...
And lastly, never put all your eggs in one basket. That goes for women and it goes for friends you make here at ISG. People have last minute emergencies and can't always do what they say they will do. (yea, there should be apologies...in any event)
Now, this is the "other areas" thread. I'll pretty sure I'll be making a return visit to Alona Beach. I stayed at ISIS last time which was brand new back in Jan06. Has anyone stayed at Alona Kew? Any recommendations?

I won't mention names, but a few posts before this, someone posts his direct criticism of another member. This person apparently doesn't know how to use the PM function. This person also mentions he has been to PI twice, yet he has a grand total of two posts. Maybe I suggest to this person that they attempt to contribute rather than attack.
Which reminds me of a PM I got a while back...guy was asking for specific information on a woman. He mentions that he goes to the Philippines two or three times a year. Same thing...grand total of two posts. Did he get the contact info...NOOOOOO.....
Guys, if you gain anything from ISG, then consider contributing. It doesn't have to be about women...hotel / restaurant reviews...airport hassles...whatever.

Posts: 8Hey Porty get down off your high horse
Porty,
You have no right to complain about your recent treatment after the way you left me in shitters ditch in April in Cebu. You might remember you had arranged to meet me at the airport and offered a couple of nights accomodation and company in mongering pursuits in my first visit to Cebu. Taking you at your word I didn't bother booking a hotel. Well needless to say you showed your true colours by not showing up and leaving me stranded. I managed OK and have been back in June 2006 and plan again in November 2006 but what a cowardly low life you are. You havent offered any explanation since that date and hide away till 6 months later when you come out from under your rock. All your friendly talk and promises were just that, Bullshit. I reckon you got your right whack. Porty Old Boy
Thanks for nothing you Ordinary Bloke

Poaching another mans lady at one time was an unpardoanable sin, there used to be an un written rule among expats in both Phils and Thailand . I mean with all the available pussy running around why try to snatch another one away from some other guy and cuase all the hard feeling/revenge etc.
I've noticed that younger mongers tend to be more into this, flirting or whatever with your GF/Wife, some of these guys don;t know the rules.

Thanks for the support SH , Totally agree with you . Even in australia we dont poach our mates girls. He made the mistake and i know he has learnt from it. I had got her into my church there and was on a church pinic at the beach, she never relised that i had people watching out for me. The worse thing was after i kicked her out she went to live in his appartment( he he he)
he was paying 16,000 peso a month and she told him i only paid 5,000 so he tried to move into the appartment next to me. I put a stop to that!!! i did speak to him 2 times cos he called me trying to get me to take her back!
thats when i told him his last name and where he lived there and his family lived here in australia that took me 2 days to get information. Lets just say he was a worried man ! If any other guys read this just remeber what goes around comes around, and what you think is a freebie often cost you twice as much as a bar fine.!!
Thanks for the info on Tagaytay, I will be ok as my filipino Brother of 4 years has new work there as a gm of the Taal Vista Hotel so i will be ok, Just wanted to have some of my own inside on this city.
I suppose i could always bring them down from manila !! (girls) but i dont know what the busses are like or any other transport as i will be traverling there by my brothers car !
Regards Porty.
PS
At least i won't have any problems of posting photo's of her now he he he.
that will teach her. I will down load them in the next week or too just wait ok lang!

Posts: 1194I personally found Tagaytay nothing too special, although it is a pleasant break from Manila's heat, traffic and pollution. It warrants a daytrip I suppose. For mountain scenery, the Halsema Highway North from Baguio through the Cordillera is much more impressive.

What I did notice is a number of resturaunt/videoke/dance combination type places. These were nicer more laid back affairs than the buckets of blood one often finds in the cities.

Just wondering on information of bars etc on this small city! i know about the Taat volcano and the casino and the cool climate!
Oh the reason why was caught up in relationship but all gone now as she hooked up with an australia guy thinking he was better, silly girl cos he dumped her after 1 night, but his with my contacts i found his number here in australia and told him that i knew it and that he better send her back to her provience < So what started out to be a freebie cost him lots of pesos, one thing he has learnt never take another westerns girl!

just came back from mindanao, passed through cdo and stayed overnight
and decided to get out and look around vis a vis the mongering situation.
i found that the main disco "excite" just got a facelift and new management
who have dubbed the place " the pulse" monday night at 10 pm to 11 it was
almost deserted, live band pretty decent, 2 for 1 drink special. probably livelier on a weekend.
next door club mojo was rocking out, a younger trashier crowd. lots of young girls gave yours truly the hot eye, all looked ****.
llmado used to be a lively place for freelancers, dull as ditch carp at 1 am, live band, a few drunk filipinos at the front table. a few un attached females
either frightened off by my fearsome appearance or were with the band.
walked around the streets a bit near the outdoor market and "ali-ali" area in the main part of town which is roped off at night to pedestrian stroll. a few girls all giggly and friendly and a little troupe of transvestites who followed me around a bit, went back to the room and decided cable tv was more interesting.

Made it over here for a couple of days last week. I had to choose between here and Dumaguete, and I went with Iloilo since I hadn't been here before. Would it have been better to go to Dumaguete? Probably, and I really missed the good times that I would have had there plus the diving. But still it's good to venture out of one's comfort zone and explore new territory.
In Iloilo I had a supplier of talent, a fortyish lady whom I've known for 3 years now. ISGers visiting Iloilo can PM me for contact details. She has lots of acquaintances of the sweet and innocent variety, just the type I like to work on. She introduced me to about 7 girls in 2 days, only one of which came through in a bedroom kind of way. But that was enough.
The one that did come through was an illuminating look at Filipina juggling of the truth. At first she was claiming to be the "I ain't never been kissed or touched variety." Then after one beer she admitted she had one boyfriend in high school. After another beer she divulged the dreadful secret that she had been married for a while. I decided not to let her have another beer lest I find out she had been swinging from a pole in Angeles a couple of days before. Anyway, she had enough beer for my less than honorable purposes.
Iloilo has pretty decent nightlife. It isn't in the league of Cebu or Davao of course. But it is sort of tied for 4th largest city with Bacolod (another place I need to get to). So it's gotta have something. Probably the best place is a collection of bars called Smallville. A couple of them are al fresco-like with live bands. One of them is called Pier 16, with a large model ship out front. Smallville is on a street just off the highway coming in from the airport. Near here is a disco called MO2. It's enclosed and has a DJ spinning out the usual POP music sort of hits. These are all the places I had time for in 2 days but I think there are more.
I stayed at Sarabia Manor, paying something like 2600 a night. It's in a rambling sort of compound. There's a decent pool and a gym that you have to pay for. Also on the grounds is an internet cafe and an English language school that caters to Koreans. You may be able to chat up Korean girls that are sitting in the outdoor coffee shop.

Big Fun posted positive comments about Amanpulo (along with photos of his stunning lady).
Thought I would second the vote. I have visited Amanpulo several times. It is pricey but, IMHO, one of the best beach resorts to relax on in all the PI. SCUBA diving is just so so but available.
Beach is even better than Borocay.

It is my first experience to the philippines, not for trying bar girls but I was there to meet my wife to be, Well my round trip plane ticket cost $980 from San Diego to cagayan de oro, I arrived in Manila aug. 20 I had to stay overnight in manila so I can make my morning flight, so I met my girlfriend at manila airport it took her 3 minutes to spot me in crowd it's a good thing I told her what I be wearing what type of cap and color of my backpack, after she spotted me she was so happy since we met on yahoo chat almost 2 years ago anyways she was so happy it's like she hadn't seen me in years, well we took a cab to a hotel in pasay city not far from airport sorry I can't remember the hotel name we stayed for a night it cost about 1, 900 pesos it included breakfast and you can exchange money at hotel as they say it's better that you let the girl you are with to have her exchange money for you, so you can get the correct exchange, she made sure that it's correct amount, At least the hotel has cable TV, the room is nice and clean, One thing the city style reminds me of Tj old buildings, outdoor markets, street venders, taxi's everywhere except the taxi in phili the cars are more modern like Tj taxi's most of cars are more older, And there is a funny looking bus thingy called jeepny? I like the art work on them, there is a lot of moter/and cycle taxi type of thing In manila and cagayan, very intresting. Well we went to mall and the food is cheap there and their grocery too, my girlfriend told me the food is cheaper in cagayan than manila but grocery almost the same. After the mall trip went back to hotel went to bed my girlfriend cuddle up with me all night long and held me tight, I couldn't move that much in bed, LOL! The next day we had breakfast and head to airport going to cagayan. (Important Note! When making flights to other citys in phili, you have to pay some kind of departure fee whatever that is if you go to cagayan or other city the fee cost 200 peso $4usd and going on International flight cost is 550p/ $10. 90usd. Please be aware of that! )I thought the plane was going to be small a commuter plane, I was surprised it was a some what larger jet plane, the flight took about 40 min? Well we made it to cagayan the airport is small. Cagayan is a very nice area took a cab we went to hotel it cost about 950 peso almost 19 usd. The room is nice I'm not picky. There is a cafe bakery across the street she is right the food is cheaper but the cafe food is good, next day we went to another hotel my girlfriend used to work there, The hotel name is Bonair Inn, located on Don Sergio Osmena street. The room cost me about 550p about 11usd the room is kinda of smaller I like it I'm not fussy but the bathroom is small but I don't care the room is cheaper. Well I will finish my report next time I have to go back to work in the morning Blaaa! I really like it there in cagayan!

"I can't make it home tonight. Can I stay in your room?" my CB chat friend said as we sat in Club Mojo. I, with my usual deep concern for homeless everywhere, consented to this imposition.
A dilemma that happens all too often is when the girl you've arranged to meet is accompanied by a friend that's even hotter. And I really hit it off with the hot friend in the karaoke room. But my original girl (not so bad looking herself) was onto us and got between us. And no surprise that this friend didn't come along the next night, some story about having a headache or something. No matter, I have her contact info.
Cagayan expat old guy chic: It's all in the gray-haired pony tail....
It was good to get to Cagayan after lackluster Butuan and out in the boonies Duka Bay. It's a town with several colleges, so lots of young beauties walking around. I was pleased to see that the number of venues for hunting has increased over last year, not that I really had a chance to try since my needs were taken care of.
Divisoria, a street of half a mile or so in the middle of town, has an area with park space, fountains and other public areas. At one end, just outside the gates of Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan, is a new cafe. I saw lots of student girlie types gathered here in the evening and at lunch time. For weekend nights the whole street is blocked off to cars and lots of market stalls are set up. It's a vibrant street scene that could offer many opportunities.
Xcite, the live band place across from Dynasty Court Hotel, has been split up into 2 places. There's Club Mojo, which I went to with my girl and her friends. The band was pretty good there. The other place is called Pulse, which I didn't get into. But I was told it's also a live band place. Also in this area is an upstairs billiards bar which has been good for afternoon to early evening hunting, a coffee shop downstairs from it, and La Togela Italian Restaurant. Serving sizes are big at the restaurant so if you're with 2 girls have them just order one thing and split it.
The Site, over by Limketkai Mall, has another live band place that I went to last year. It sort of had a bohemian thing going at the time. Downstairs from that is a coffee shop and there's a Karaoke bar here that I took the girls to. You can get a private room but it's not a hanky panky situation with a window on the door. You can still grope around a lot and do bump and grind dancing.
Dynasty Court has a live band bar on the top floor, but only on weekends right now. The lobby is being renovated at the moment so checkin is on the 2nd floor. You have to walk up the stairs to get to it. Otherwise the hotel is just OK. I got the deluxe room for 1700. You can get a cheaper standard room but there's not window. It's guest friendly here and they very helpfully give you a breakfast coupon for 2. Pryce Plaza, where I usually stay, was filled up with some jerkoff convention.
Badabing. This is a Filipino style go go bar. I finally made it in here after meaning to for a long time. But I had a bit of a misfire this time. The girl told me I could get a private room for 1500 including lots of drinks and anything goes. But when we got there she wanted 2000 more to do the deed. We reached an impasse and after calling the manager and explaining what the girl said to entice me to the back room he refunded the room charge. So it didn't go well that time but the bar handled it well and I think it's to be recommended. The girl also offered to meet me outside for 1000 but by this time I was a little put off. Lots of good lookers in this place.
