Ok thanks Harvey, for taking time to advise.

If all goes well I'll add a post with my experiences and observations there, but it will be in a few months.

    San Fernando/Poro Point

i was in a tryke and the only cano within 10km of the bars at poro (or on they way to poro) point, so i was uncomfortable, no big deal. i was only in dt san fernando, la union, 2x and liked other cities better, but then that's how i felt about mnl and baguio at first.

bauang, la union, just south of san fernando has an american legion post and i assume, a community of expats, so it should be an ok place. there's a restaurant with a "western" meat market and other goodies should be available in the area or up in baguio (30 miles "up", lol, but about 90 minutes by bus). lot's of "resorts" - i liked bali hai, great food, but pass on the mongolian barbeque, the "wok" doesn't seem to get hot enough like some places i've been to in the us, otherwise the food is great.

great massage in baguio, right at the base of session rd, right side of street, 2nd floor in an office building, when i was there last. run by an expat and his cebuana wife, 4 female physical therapists, clinically clean place, great massage and no "hanky-panky", lol. also great coffee (for about 50 pesoes per kg for roasted beans) at the baguio city market, it runs behind the stores on magsaysay, i think. also try cafe by the ruins in burnham park and the cooks inn at the burnham hotel, just off of session rd, about 2 intersections up from the base of session and magsaysay.

    good luck.

    Hi everybody,

A question for Harvey Wb and possibly other people who've been to San Fernando,

I just read that you weren't comfortable going through the San Fernando area. Could you tell me why?

Here's your quote I'm talking about:

"Poro Point, between Bauang and San Fernando is basically all freelancers at night, sitting outside the bars. Never partook, just took a trike through there, trying to get to the old AF Base, I gave up. I'd be careful, wasn't comfortable just passing through."

Because I am planning to live near San Fernando for a while, so I'd like to know if the area is safe. I thought it was, but your post got me doubting, but it didn't give any details why?

Please help before I spend a thousand on a ticket etc, only to be feeling unsafe there. Maybe other people too could advise?

    Sabang

On the island Mindoro (2 hrs ride + ferry, south of Manila) there is a place called Sabang. There is very good scuba diving and 4 go-go bars. The girls are very young and if you ask them to join you they all stay at your room over night. The girls I saw were working in Manila but went to Sabang to earn "some extra". Their parents knew nothing. The main village on the island is Puerto Galera, but it is very quiet compared to Sabang.

    Astoria Plaza - Pasig City

I stayed there for a couple of nights, pretty nice hotel with big rooms.

First evening I called for a room service massage. Here comes the girl, mid twenties, not really prettey and not really funny either. Did a hell of a good massage though using oil. I did not ask for extra service because i was no attracted at all and she did not offer any. Damage 800 pesos.

Second evening, called for another masseuse. This time came one in her early 30 but more attractive and out going. Massage was not that good but I could feel she was going close to the brothers downstairs which of course made the colonel called for back up.

As soon as she saw I was quite ready for some action she proposed HJ. I asked for more but refused anthing else. I said ok hatever and she gave me one of the best HJ I ever had.

Total damage: 800 pesos + 300 pesos tip.

    Boracay (White Beach)

I noticed there is little or no info here on Boracay so I thought I would post the little bit I know from being here the past 2 days. I also read another post that recommended mongers bring a girl here from Manila as there is no action here, but I would only second that if you had to be with the super model types that are 9s and 10s in looks (and charge for that status as well).

Although certainly not as busy with action as Manila or Angeles, there is still action here on or around White Beach. Even though it is still low season, there are several girls (mostly 5-7s in looks) that hang out on White Beach across from the Regency Resort near boat station 2 and The Wake night club. They will quickly quote you absurd tourist prices (3000 - 3500 pesos for Long Time) but I always laugh and you can easily get the price down to Manila Prices (say 1800 - 2000 LT). My first night I found a very energetic 19 year old there that was a 7 in looks and was up to 3 rounds (the last 2 she initiated) and also open to numerous naughty pics (it seems like pretty much all the working girls are in Phillipines though as long as they are faceless). I'll post some pics in a week or so after I return home.

There are also some girls that hang around Hey Jude and Summer Place after around 11PM. On Friday night, there were actually several cuter ones (7s and a few 8s) around the entrance to Summer Place (some at tables, some out in front) from midnight on. I saw some 9s inside but I do not know if they were working there in Borocay, or had come down with the Western guys they were with.

Also, one need only stroll down that stretch between Hey Jude and Summer Place and back to be propositioned by any number of the girls (be careful as there are also more than a few Lady Boys lurking about).

It seems like all the places to stay in Boracay will allow female guests, although I do not know for certain about the high end places with door guards (but I imagine so since this place really caters to tourists). I am staying at Villa Sambrosa (formerly GPs) and I have a clean and fairly modern room w/ air-con, warm water, fridge, 2 large beds and cable TV for 1000 pesos a night (negotiated down from 1200).

If you have any additional info to add on Boracay, feel free to speak up.

    Happy Hunting

[Additional note: I noticed on Saturday night that there were more guards and cops out and the SW traffic seemed to be much lower plus there were no ladies stationed across from Regency. Still there were a number around the entrance of Summer Place and still a few strolling up and down the walk between boat station 3 and 2, but I suspect the better looking ones were snatched up earlier as the pickings were slim after midnight so I declined. On the plus side, the band at Summer Place was awesome with excellent Marley, Sublime and other 80s/90s covers.]

[Additional note2: Sunday night was pretty dead. There were still a fair amount of guards out so not so many SWs. About 1AM 8 or 10 pretty cute girls showed up at Summer Place, but when I approached 2 of the free ones they separately quoted exhorbitant prices around 3000p short time even though it was already 2AM and they were not sure to get a client. They were surprisingly firm in price and seem to prefer to go home alone than lower it, and their unwillingness to budge turned me off so I stopped trying and decided to save it up for Angeles City where I was headed the next day.]

Thanks for the advice! So i will take a ski rope with me in case they throw me overboard! that way i can bare foot ski all the way to Cebu, Ha Ha
I promise to write a full report on this trip. Just in case any others might want to try something different.
The price if you book return ticket, with meals, in suite ( 2 people allowed) for the one price. is around 10,000 peso's. It takes 23 hours, so if you take 2 nights at hotel 5000 peso's off you are left with a trip from manila to cebu , back to manila for 5000 peso's about the same for flying.
The difference have you ever tried to pick up and join the mile high club on a plane?? Also you have restaruants, Bars, disco, as well as the ferry i am catching has a swimming pool.
So what girl would'ny like to saty in suite with bath, than in dormatory style bedding.?? none I HOPE!!!!
Dont worry i do this on the 17th of october this year ! so will post report very soon.

This may be a little late for the original poster, but I might as well provide the perspective for anyone who needs it in future.

Alabang is just just past Las Pinas (which is south of Metro Manila), on the way to Laguna. I can think of 3 faces to Alabang ...
1/ Rich subdivisions (local execs, politicians, and some foreigners)
2/ Festival Mall and Alabang Town Center Mall complexes
3/ You don't want to go to the other parts, mostly squatters areas. That includes metro-whatever mall unless you really dress down and don't take anything you don't want to lose.

If in Alabang, I'd suggest forget trying girls in the malls; if they're *there* then they aren't likely to be interested in your money. Maybe you can charm them, but I get the NorthAmerican feel there so I wouldn't bother.

Take a jeep or an FX a few minutes up towards SM South Mall. You'll see a few Kareoke-ish clubs, mostly on the right and I think one or two on the left. I've never checked them out, but I've heard rumours it's the "usual", so go for it. If you find a companion, I've noticed advertising for a new "EuroTel" with deep opening discounts across from SM SouthMall.

Or, you could go just a bit further - there's a few seedy videoke bars around the market area across from Pure Gold supermarket. You might be a hit (as long as no one dislikes you) there. Or, you can head up into Las Pinas proper a few more km, and find a veritable slew of bars etc.

Beyond that, you could go left into Zapote and into Cavite, or up the coastal road to Manila. All this is normally within an hour or less of Alabang. We're not even mentioning venturing into side streets and the more rural areas. Don't do that unless you're very comfortable, know at least enough tagalog to have conversations with locals, and/or have good protection at your side. There's also a way to take a jeep from somewhere around SM over to Paranaque (where you will find lots of other not-so-safe-for-strangers bars), but I'd be hard put to find that without going for a walk myself to hunt for it. I did that once but it's not easy to find.

You can speak english in the upscale and mall parts of Alabang. Anywhere else around there short of metro Manila and I urge you to be able to order your "yum-may-cheese" in Taglish at Jollibee - they will expect you to. (Which reminds me of a very yummy Jollibee girl, but that's a whole different story!)

I heard that "someone" got a txt from the housekeeper that another "someone" sent home. Apparantly, after a celibate servient year, that maid "met someone" on the boat and was texting with a big smile attached. Once she learned how to dress she was cute too (if you like thin), but I had to keep my distance here, though it would have been easy as much as it would have been stupid to play this close.

I did not meet the owner but his son was there. I know Boli Bolton ( big south african man) who was overseeing the project. Yes your correct some did get down to 1700 pesos per night, mine at 2400 peso per night was a good rate considering I got to pick the room that I wanted and was the first guest to stay in the room as you know it only started opperations last November.

Maybe you can help me on another qestion Cebu Lover!

I like advernture and always trying to think up new ways of mongering!

Instead of flying i thought about taking a ferry boat to Cebu from manila in October 2005!
