I'd agree with your comments with the addition that the quality of service and GFE is inversely proportional to the average looks of the bar. Over the years the Koreans have set very low expectations for the K-focused girls. They have been accustomed to being well tipped for uninspiring service and quite often in and out within an hour. Good looking girls abound at Venus, Village and Midnight / Quantum but you will be fortunate to find a true performer. On the other hand the other bars frequently have girls that provide a great and extended experience.

Regarding Cash and ATMs, it's always been an issue in Sabang. The bank in town is rarely online and has the lowest withdrawal limit. A far better option is to catch a motorbike in to the PNB in town for 100 p and you can withdraw 10 kp at a time as many times as your bank allows. It was 20 k per go but that was years ago.

If you put in 10000, it just waits and then the ATM tells you it timed out. What lame SW! That's probably why it never worked for me before (the 5000 pesos limit sign wasn't there before). Be warned that sometimes this bank, and the other bank in town (PNG Bank - it was Allied Signal) can be offline for a long time. You need to not wait till last minute to get your money from ATMs.

I think it is a well known international hotel rule that hotel staff do not bed with the guests. If you really are keen on the hotel girl then you are going to need to do it offsite and maybe after you have moved hotels.

If hotel staff sleeps with you, she will tell you she lost her job (maybe scam, maybe true) and try to guilt you into supporting her. She already has all of your info. Not worth it, IMHO.

Surigao is my regular provincial visit town. Over four visits I have never slept alone in this place. WC info is correct about provincial girls. It would be hard for a local girl to be out and about dating a foreigner without too much gossip. What has worked for me:

Dating sites: Get some contacts from pinalove or Tagged before you go, no more than two weeks notice required. Do check that they are within a one hour bus ride of Surigao.

WeChat: I have found good contacts will be available in your local area. There are some regular girls that work wechat, plus many girls from our of town will set up and operate through wechat.

Yes, I do.

But while some staff might be "up for a screw", none of them will act on that while in the area (certainly not in the hotel she works in). She will not take the risk of having everyone she knows find out she boffed a foreigner. Your better bet is to find a cheap hotel in a nearby community / town and bus the girl over to you. Many of my Photogallery posts involve exactly that -- provincial girls who bus to me in a nearby province, or into Manila / Cebu. I've been there, stayed there. The local girls will be so terrified of rumors that success is unlikely. The only chance I can imagine of getting lucky would be in a situation where she felt certain nobody would know. Staff girl at the hotel? Maybe willing, but would still fear discovery IMHO. Numerous dive shops all along Sabang, Little LaLaguna and LaLaguna beaches, all competing for the same client base. Suggest South Seas, Frontier and Asia Divers, but plenty of others would be as.

Good. Be warned though that there are some cowboy operators in the Scuba / diving world and these could be deadly if circumstances go bad underwater. Told that there is a Scandinavian alcoholic.

Running one. Cannot offer prices as I was busted medically unfit so unable to indulge.

Good snorkeling from Sabang, around Sabang Point and to / beyond Monkey beach, and also from Lalaguna beach around LaLaguna Pt. I believe that there is plenty of good snorkeling nearby for.

Surface divers. Banka hire P500/- subject to negotiating what you want to do. No snorkel hire seen. Wtf. Always used to be a few places offering hire equipment.

That's very helpful, as I've thought of doing that trip from Sabang to Subic. That's an eye opener, and very accurate as I've done the Sabang to Manila leg and its spot on.

Did the trip Easter this year- left at 8 got there at 5- never again (but was boat- bus. Bus- jeepney).

Suggest either car from Batangas to AC -stay a day, then continue on.

And if you meet an ex policeman from the States who lives near Dau (who apparently new a short cut) smack him out for me.
