The place has just opened up some more as in gatherings of eight are allowed instead of only five. Keep your masks on, social distancing and all that. Just means that the restaurants and other venues are going to be even more crowded. Was in a Fairprice yesterday afternoon and it was a zoo.

I had a source with connections on the ground there that said OT is sort of back open for business, but bars / restaurants must close by 1030. That's fine by me, getting too old to stay out all night. If true I wonder what will that do for pricing? In the past you could negotiate for a short time at 1030 and the lady would have time to make it back to OT by 1200 to secure another ST or a LT. Now if this is true, I guess that first asking price will be for LT or ST rates will be inflated. Me, I would just wait them out until 1000 to see how prices go. If no go, there is always Smooci.

I have a few friends who are US and they are working there and was told that they couldn't bring their own family members from the US to visit them due to the number of US persons allowed into Singapore was very low and the company wasn't going to put in a waiver for them. Something like only 30 Americans were being allowed in a week. Their country and they can do what they want, but I think one big thing out of all of this is they like other places will soon find out how much their economy depends on outsiders, and they are not really in a position to do much about it. Read an article about how they were using some old buildings and their rooftops to make vegetable gardens since they cut off just about all commerce from outside, but forgot they don't have as much farmland as they used to and all of those big spenders like to eat a lot of things that are not grown there. Lessons to be learned all around I guess.

Speaking with an Indonesian DH she said clubs are still closed yet I see pictures of her and her friends walking about on their Sunday day off still gathering together in groups. I'm sure the scene has started to drift to Pay for Play with known entities and if you don't have any connects you are just out of luck. One Pina OT regular is in a world of hurt, her normal customer who pays for weeks at at time has been travel restricted and won't send any money (wife doesn't know I guess) and I tried to at least send a one time "fee" but she had too many restrictions since somehow she is blackballed from Western Union. With that in mind and knowing how I often go to Singapore for work I don't want my real name and info listed or associated with someone who is having some issue with the law there (yeah she told me she was recently spoken to by law enforcement).

Cuppage Plaza is around the middle of Orchard Road, if you navigate by shopping malls (it's behind OG Orchard Point, next to Centrepoint and across the road from Orchard Central, it's also just behind the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre. In terms of 'playtime' options Cuppage Plaza is best known for bars mainly catering to the Japanese, in a way it's a more like a local version of the salaryman bars in Japan. I once hooked up with one of the Filipina 'hospitality workers' there, she said it was mainly about getting them to buy lady drinks, flirting with them etc, she and the others lived in a dorm, so she was very happy when she finished work around 2 am to visit my hotel and enjoy a stay in a nice quite well-appointed room with comforts like a bath, a swimming pool downstairs etc.

So I don't think we would see a mass migration of OT bars to CP because it's a very different scene, the CP bars are also a lot smaller than what the OT crowd is used to.

There's another area of Singapore with BMD bars but where take-out is also available for the ladies, can't recall the name of it but I'm sure many here will, and those bars again are smaller and more like a pub than your typical large OT haunts like Cray Horse, Blue Banana etc.

So unless the OT clubs can find somewhere nearby with enough space, they might devolve into smaller pub-sized pick-up joints.

Flyboy 2000 I know that place well. I actually stayed in the Holiday Inn once and went a lookin' as they say back in that area. Saw a lot of people out sitting at the restaurants. I got the same rundown as you said about it mainly being a Japanese area with possible ties to the Yak as one of the persons who was showing me around the area said and recommended I should avoid that area. There was one large after hours place there that wouldn't let single men in but you could go in if you were escorted with a lady. Met a few of the buy me drink workers there. One thing about the Holiday Inn, didn't have any safeguards in regards to letting people just walk up to the room after hours. No front desk check or elevator key required to come up. Plus the rooms were a lot cheaper than the place I normally stay but still very decent.

One would think that if the clubs were paying off the right government official they would want to keep that steady revenue stream going. Sure they may think that they will get more making another mall, but I read where real estate prices are going down, and I guess some guys want to buy low and build a building and hope prices will go up again. I'm not in Singapore but from what 'colleagues' who live and work there tell me, the clubs are still closed but there's decent pickings when the DHs gather at the food court and in nearby areas. The 'circuit breaker' lockdown demolished the local scene from clubs to massage shops and 'health spas'.

They say pretty much all non-resident freelancers are back home in China, Thailand, Philippines etc, based on what they're told from many women they were connected with via WeChat, WhatsApp, Line etc. One Chinese woman had set up a really good massage shop at River Valley Road, now it's been closed for months and she's not sure she can ever get back to open it let alone get it properly staffed.

I have also head rumours that the government is going to take advantage of Covid to announce demolition of OT to turn it into, yes you guessed it, yet another shopping mall topped by some offices and loads of apartments! Not sure if it's just that block or the one behind it as well.

If that happens, and I would not be at all surprised if it does, I have to wonder if there's any place left for the OT clubs, at least in a central 'downtown' location. OT is a hold-out from decades ago, so much else around there, along Orchard etc has been modernised, overhauled, even the more colorful older areas have been 'gentrified'. Still plenty of one-off massage shops around, including clusters in some older shopping malls and around Chinatown, but I wonder if we have seen the last of the OT-style bars. Maybe some of them might migrate to Cuppage Plaza?

I'm currently using my HK number, and some of them didn't seem too keen to reply me now, which wasn't the case last time, I'm suspecting that some are defunct while there may be some sort of regulations against them (the girls) meeting foreigners under the Singapore mandatory SHN upon arrival for now?

These will not open until Singapore starts "Phase 3". There is no date yet for Phase 3.
