There used to be loads of these BMD (Buy Me Drink) bars around Duxton Hill (& even more over at Paramount but they knocked that down) & when the new flats were built in TP the bars in Duxton were pressured to close to clean up the area. Some of them moved to Circular Road (the road behind Boat Quay) & if you stroll along there at night you can spot them by the gaggle of girls outside trying to tempt you in. Whether they are any good or not or just rip offs I cannot say as I wasn't free to try them. If you fancy a gamble, have a look there. I've no information about KTVs as I always ventured out alone & KTVs are more of a group activity.

I have only been to KTVs in and around Orchard Tower while I was in Singapore last week, and can only share my experience there. As I am not local, I was brought there by my local friends. I have to warn that KTV experience is not cheap, Again, did I say that it is very expensive?

Anyway, this is the way how it works. You book a room with a minimum spend required. My friends would usually order towers of beer and / or open up bottles. If I am not mistaken, a tower of beer can cost SGD90 and that is the happy hour price. As you can imagine, the cost of all those drinks and food can pile up real quick. Now as for the girls, it works this way. The Mamasan and Papasan can bring in a bunch of girls at a time for you to select. The girl primary role is to keep you company, be it to talk, sing or dance with you. You are free to have your hands all over them. The girls that I had met thus far were from Vietnam and many of them were pretty hot. Not all girls are willing to go out for a short time, but more often than not, they are willing to do so. You just need to specify upfront to Mamasan if you intend to book any of them out.

Here's the breakdown of the cost for these girls. Again they are NOT cheap.

- To accompany you for your time in KTV = SGD 200.

- Bring girl out for Short Time = SGD 400 (On top of the above cost).

- Bring girl out for Long Time = SGD 800.

I have not personally booked them out for ST or LT as I find it is cheaper to do it outside, but based on my interactions with these girls in KTV room, they were very GFE and more than willing to go their distance to please you. In fact, the last night, my friend booked two of them out for a good threesome for a ST, and that alone is SGD 800.

Again, KTV is a very Asian thing, and it will only be worthwhile and fun if you go there as a group.

In Tanjong Pagar there are these shady bars -- not KTV -- that say 18 and up only. Not knowing EXACTLY what it was I went into Club Famous and was immediately surrounded by 6 Filipinas. Not really a report but I decided to try Tagged and the customer service is terrible! I decided to pay for a VIP account last week and for some reason the account was locked. I guess my credit card was declined. So, I sent in a service request for them to unlock my account so I can try another method of payment. Until now, no response.
