In multicultural Singapore the main source of everyday food are hawker centers or in local language food courts. The majority of stall belong to Chinese, SEA and Indian food. Although Western food is available at food courts, it might not be the best western food though.
So yes if you are not familiar with Chinese / SEA / Indian food, then food court might be a bad place for you to have food. Every food court hosts a healthy salad counter at 90% of the places and if you are not sure what to eat, go straight to this counter.
In Singapore, things are very realistic and simple, you want nice food at a reasonable price and eat like a local? - Go to food court (hawker center), want to spend more money on food and eat like a tourist. Head to the air-conditioned sophisticated restaurants. Choice is all yours but nonetheless the food is healthy and good at all places.

Posts: 120A local was yelling at a street food vendor because the person did not speak English. Don't think wise to yell at a cook who is preparing your food. I am not sure if the local still ate the food.

I would STRONGLY advise forum readers to COMPLETELY ignore this gentleman's post as an aberrant outlier. Singapore hawker food is one of the gustatory high points to experience on the planet. If at all concerned, look for prominently displayed Food Safety Grade cards and stick with stalls earning an "A." I regularly eat at “B” and even “C” Grade with zero problems.

Posts: 120Funny. You have to be careful to make sure everything cooked properly when in hot weather. So far no problems in the quays and street food. And I don't yell at the provider / cooks either! Only problem I had was ordering room service when staying above Brix. Went for a cold dish. Bad choice. Should have stuck with something flaming hot.

Hi Friends.
I shall be visiting Singapore in another one month's time.
Any pointers to good places in gaylang and to good night clubs shall be helpful.
Also, can someone suggest me any good girl-friendly hotel in Singapore (not very expensive though, maybe about USD 50-75).
My pm is active.
Thanks.
Abhi.

If your stomach is a complete pussy like mine is, don't eat at hawker centres.
My trip was a complete fail. I returned home 4 kgs lighter. My work was hell, I almost ended up on a drip. Just prior to getting sick (which was the night I arrived), I noticed my fav spa in the whole world had shutdown. The part of SG I generally stay is forever changing. I was there late last year, pubs are gone, restaurants are gone, my spa is gone, my old gym is gone. Something else is always popping up in place.
After this, I have no desire to return anytime soon.

Guys,
Any experience with picking up a black girl from Ipanema? I want to try a black girl here in SG but Don't think I want to spend a lot of money to get a very hot girl from Brix. . Any tips or thoughts on how much to approach? How much to pay? Any difference from picking up an typical Asian girl from Ipanwma.

Posts: 120It goes without saying to pay attention to the requirements to be granted a visa on arrival. Most country web sites will list the general requirements. GG, you are lucky you got through after failing the 6 month. I would have fired the guy for being an idiot. Travelling for the below 23 year olds can be an issue in some areas.

I do think they prefer to see cash especially USD.
For filiipinas, I have had mixed results but in all cases, all came though but sometimes with 1-2 hour delays. All had the letter, USD, return ticket, and place to stay.
The MOST trouble I have had is in the girls leaving PHIL (manilla). What pricks they can be there. In 2017, a girl I know, a nurse who has many stamps on her passport as she has traveled as a traveling nurse to many countries was blocked because "she didn't have a job in SG". Duh. She wasn't coming for a job dummy. Why in the world do they CARE if people travel outside of PHIL? The president needs to do something about these people also.
The other thing I will remind people is that SG has a strict rule. Your passport cannot expire less than 6 months of arriving. I was in VN in March and traveling to SG. I had 5. 5 months left on my passport (I'm stupid), and they almost didn't let me on the plane in HCMC to fly to SG (had to get special permission) and when I got to SG, had to visit the immigration desk and thankfully they let me in (I had a 3 hole maid waiting for me to arrive). I did a mea culpa to the immigration officer (a nice Malay woman) and she let me through and said "don't forget to renew your passport". Which I already did.
