But overall, for non-Singlish / Manglish experienced mongers, ISG is a far superior forum. For your average Ah Beng for whom a weekend jaunt to JB or KL is a big deal or who might be looking for a more discreet alternative to Geylang, Laksa fits the bill. And for us it provides a ready resource of reliable cost-effective tail. Typical Thai / Viet pricing of S$120-150/90 mins / 2 shots. S$200 for Korean "gers" and S$200 for Europeans (typically CIS) but only 45 mins / 1 shot.

As said, a walk up to OT would have thrilled your feet. And Weekdays, pretty much everywhere is quite.

I'm leaving tonight at 8pm, so will try a couple of bars later to see what pops up. Hopefully India and Hong Kong isn't this slow.

Orchard Towers, just a 5-10 minute walk WNW along Orchard Road would have still been going strong, even if things were slow. Brix would have been closed or winding down. Geylang would have still been going, with perhaps some street action.

Things are a little slow right now, but not that slow. You probably should have walked up Orchard Road to OT or Scotts Road to Brix.
