Back home I made my own chicken rice (the stuff here is bland) and ate offal such as pork kidneys, liver and brains. It's very difficult if not impossible to find pork kidneys, calf liver and calf brains in SG. Think the gov't is too scared of food poisoning. Hahahaha.

Well, that would be because local cuisine is focused more on poultry, pork, and mutton, and less on beef. Pig Organ soup is a very common and delicious hawker offering. Pork liver, tongue, tripe, intestines. All very common. Don't really recall encountering brains, although mutton brains might be on offer in some halal establishments.

During the night, the massage parlors in holiday in atrium come alive providing extras. Theirs like a mini mall in the hotel and if you walk around it feels like walking around orchard towers since theirs many parlors and very cheap like $30 for 30 min plus extras that you can negotiate greatly since not many people know about it, I'm assuming since seems pretty dead in regards to not seeing any mongers.

In the middle section I passed a really good looking chick who works at the massage parlor, so I guess walk around and let the ladies come after you and convincing to get massage with them.

I personally have not tried their massage, I just walked around and got many ladies telling me to come over and I inquired on extras which they do and desperately will accept whatever you negotiate I guess.

One or 2 chicks from different parlors were really ugly, so it all depends on your taste I guess. But I recommend walking thru the middle section pathway.

Since I was hoping FJ but didn't get I thought might as well go to get massage and call it a day regardless of legit or not. So I went to holiday inn orchard (saw ad on happymassage) and place doesn't exist, thought of going home then I saw a great place.

The place is in cuppage plaza on B2 floor. (NOT B1). The place $60 for 1 HR they have shower and scrub. The mamasan was asking for ID number and nationality, basically hinting me just to give fake number to so call "legitimacy" told me to go to room and take shower, all of sudden the the masseuse came while I'm but naked and she dried me off and gave me great massage, I've had plenty massages before but this is the first time I had a testicular massage that she solely focused for 10-15 min and it was great, then she charged $50 for nude and HJ which not bad but overall great experience even thou she doesn't speak English.

The mamasan was awesome to choose a great chick for me.

Second, I think Happymassage is wayyyyy out of date.

Third, I think I know what place you went to. About a decade ago, there used to be a naughty massage place on the top floor of Cuppage Plaza and I went to visit. When I got there, a lady lead me through the back of the plaza and down to B2 to what looked like some sort of salon. Went to the back and ended up in a room with a shower and bed. In came a great gal for a massage and oral.

I went back a year or so later but the top floor massage place had closed. Supposedly, it had moved up the road to another mall but I was never able to check it out. I may go check out B2 because you got a great price for nude and HJ. Some other places charge $100 for that.

If you want to be unreasonable that's your problem. Oh, you may want to check your memory, I wasn't the one who you told others to ignore.

So you're one of *those* expats, living *in* Singapore but not *of* Singapore. Plenty of acquaintances & colleagues like that while I was privileged to live there. They tended to be less happy about their posting, always looking askance, never comfortable "going native," concerned with the prospect of taking most of their meals at local hawker stalls, and certainly horrified at the prospect of grocering at a wet market. Personally, I took to it like a Hainanese chicken to rice, lah.

Straits Times just had a couple of articles on people chowing down on cockroach laden coffee and soup. If you have lived here for any amount of time you would know that this portends a food safety / cleanliness campaign in a month or so.

As for wet markets, it's unfortunate that they no longer have live animals and that the poultry is virtually all thawed out rather than fresh. Nothing is fresher than picking out a chicken in the morning, butchering and steaming it for dinner later on. It is nice, though, to still be able to pick out 3 bags of bok choy for $2 as I did for my dinner last night.

I am a self confessed sucker for Asian food and I have tried just about everything under the sun and the shade, in restaurants, food courts, hawker centers, soup kitchens, streets, handcarts, etc. Never had any problems with anything, even in China where food quality is decidedly dubious, unless you are eating at good medium to high end restaurants. I rarely eat any Western food these days, except for a good burger when I get a craving for one. But I guess I am just blessed with a strong constitution and a cast iron stomach. No allergies either. Life is good in Asia.

I'm much the same, and have been for more than 3 decades. I've had the odd about of gastro-intestinal distress now and again, but not often. For me, half the adventure of traveling is gastronomical, so I've eaten everywhere and pretty much everything everywhere I've been in Asia and Africa, and rarely regretted the experience. My diet now is largely Asian, though I do eat French and Italian foods from time to time.

I went to orchard towers just to see what's the fuss is all about, I was in 3rd floor and 2 good looking chicks convinced me to go to bar with them, I was thinking with my the** but was thinking about Thailand setup in regards to bars and hostess, anyway they took me to bar and asked me if I want to buy drink, I said no but wouldn't mind lady drink depending what they offer. So they said $120 with 2 of them and six shots of tequila. Bar was empty by the way, so I thought OK they would FJ or at least HJ multiple pops, but instead of taking me to room they did it right their the HJ, came fast but got cleaned up, kinda embarrassing but really felt the place was not for me, I told them to drink my shots since I didn't want to drink much and I wanted to make sure I'm not getting spiked. After the shots was finished they were asking me tip I thought the 120 was the entire price but they had me to corner and security guard was slightly eyeing so I was looking in my wallet and they just took $50 saying it be for both of them.
