Most people that make this transition either to Viet or Thailand are most often ready to retire and single (no family/kids). That way its no bother to just pack and leave for a try elsewhere. If failed, then no problem resuming regular life back home. As most foreigners with teaching jobs dont make too much money, many still rely on their retirement pensions to get by with the lifestyle they are use to at home.

Or, like me when I was younger, there are those that may try something different when they 1st graduated from school and seek some cultural adventure. But this only last a short time as a young man I needed to get back to the real world.( I was able to do this for about 8-9 months fresh out of school and no commitments with girlfriends or permanent jobs)

I have a job that doesn't allow me to do any longish visits. I also want to meet a simple country gal (read rice farm), not a city gal. City girls will want to go to college, delay kids, get a career, etc. Country girls will be O.K. with having children right away, focusing on family, etc. I know I'm overgeneralizing, but this should be true more times than not.

I go to Saigon (frequently) and Hanoi (less so) and it is really not so hard to meet smart local ladies who speak a little english but are not on the game. They are friendly to chat with (as they want to practice english) but tend to hang about in groups and as a result tend to be hard work for guys looking for short term action.

However I imagine that with diligence and patience (and a couple of longish visits) you can build a relationship. I have a couple on the line but no luck so far. You need to entertain the friends as well as the target.

I have met local women in coffee shops, restaurants etc in the lively centre of District 1 where they come out of their offices. The discos like Gossip have a mix of WL and others so it gets a bit hard to work out.

I would expect this to be a more fruitful path than a commercial marriage tour.

There are also Vietnam chat boards (mentioned in the VN forum) where I believe some guys have had some luck. Again this seems to work better long term than short term. See post a few below yours on VN board.

The forum also has information about hotels etc since all of the big hotels are not guest friendly. The forum also has postings from local expats who would be able to cast more light on your quest.

Poor construction at Suvarnabhumi may force parts of the new airport to be shut down for repairs. This would open the way for the recently abandoned Don Muang airport to be re-opened to serve Bangkok's air traffic needs.

Deputy Transport Minister Sansern Wongcha-um said yesterday that following a recent report on the problems facing Suvarnabhumi airport, it was likely that part of the new facility would have to be closed and Don Muang airport would pick up the slack.

Board member Yodyiam Theptranont, who heads a sub-panel investigating the problems, said the repairs would take a long time. He could not give a timeframe

Remember that all hotels in Singapore are GF as long as your behaviour is discreet and not disturbing to other guests. As to finding ones with in-room jacuzzi you may have to make one by one enquiries at the Sheraton, Mariott, Shangri-La etc. Wotif has a search category for in-room-spa but nothing comes up.

I've been at the Marriott, Hilton, Traders and Shangri-La, but have never seen/heard of in-room spas - doesn't mean they don't have them, just that I'm not aware of any.

Will second the notion that all SIN hotels are GF, if you are reasonably discreet. I've never had a problem at any the above-mentioned places.

I don't think so you can find such hotel in Singapore. I know that there are some in Thailand, and 1 in Penang where they have in room Jacuzzi.

The place is very hit or miss. Only punted twice there, but I'm running at 50/50 with it. One thumb up and one down. After I ran into a cutie Pinay at Lucky Plaza intially, I told her to meet me at Peytons.

I guess if you want a more attractive and dressy girl Ipanema is the way to go. If you want a lil soap opera drama in your eve, as many filipinas has certainly brought to mine, head for Peyton Place.

I agree, the Pinays are certainly good for their stories and drama!

However I've always found Peyton Place a reliable option. Doing some mental arithmetic, 7 girls (over a couple of years) and not a single dud. Most girls I found to be straightforward, even recommending friends, or girls they knew weren't getting a lot of business when they themselves were 'indisposed'. My best experience, who did need a little 'warming up' was one of these.

My standard offer, which has always been accepted, is S$150 LT plus tip for good service. Typically I've paid S$200- S$250 with subsequent days (if any) at around S$200-S$250. Most girls will be very happy at this level and should reward appropriately. In addition to good sex, more than once I've had clothes washed and ironed and small errands run.

Do not pay anything upfront in the bar. There are no 'barfines'. If you're new to Singapore that's not how things work at Peyton and at any place in OT worth visiting for more than 5 minutes. I've never been asked for money upfront at Peyton, but check Sudsoz post below.

The 'pimps' in Peyton are there mostly to keep an eye on their girls and sometimes offer advice to the inexperienced when negotiating. They don't directly pimp the girls out. The girls are responsible for repayment of their 'advance', and keep the rest of their earnings over their visa period. A night without making the 'ante' (about S$100) is a problem.

The bars in Lucky Plaza are a bit more hit and miss. Regular bars, with mostly Filipino customers. Unlike OT not all girls are working, many with Filipino bf. Usually only a few western customers and some girls' expectations are unrealistic, but you can strike gold. Drink prices lower than OT. Good place to hang out, watch soccer and see if anything bites. Often does.

Greetings to you all out there. Have just started here and newly registered so forgive me if I make any mistakes in my first post.

Have been assigned here by my company for the next couple of years, and have already managed so sample some of the areas that you guys have reported on.
