There really should be a glossary for Korean hobby terms, but Opi /오피/ Officetel is the most popular venue. I would say I am an expert in this area since I currently see probably 8 or 9 Op and massage girls outside the shop on a regular basis. Have to be careful juggling that many even 2 or 3 as a lot of these girls work for the same agency or know each other.

So now to the part that might piss some people off LOL, but I genuinely have tried my best to read up and understand as much as possible, its just that the game in SK is very different than what I am used to from Europe / Middle East / Americas. At least in my personal experience.

I saw several posts on here about locations, strategies, do\s and don't\s, but I am still struggling to figure out some basic stuff which I think some of you more South Korea experienced gents could easily clear up.

So. The first thing I did was basically what one of the posts here said not to do LOL. I got myself registered on this OP site (which was a mission on its own as I live in a country which monitors all traffic and blocks a lot of stuff you normally would access even without a VPN).

You're right, understanding the scene in Korea is difficult. However, you seem to have a pretty good understanding.

Maybe I can clarify a few things.

As far as I know, every service in Korea is managed. There are simply too many moving parts for an independent to master, and too many potential dangers for "management" not to be involved at some point in the process (advertising, real estate, booking, accounting, security, bribery, secretarial work etc.).

Even women who claim to be independent are almost certainly not.

I know that independence might be important to some, in the same way that free trade products are important to others, but in either case I'm simply not sure that labels can be trusted.

I know that working women used to hang out in the lobbies and bars of five star hotels, and they were potentially independent, but most forms of visible prostitution have been removed in the past few years. I imagine that even the most discreet hotel ladies stopped working during the pandemic and who knows whether they would have returned by now or whether they will ever return.

If you really don't mind spending a huge chunk of money, you might consider paying for a premium membership and then contacting the posters who experienced the real deal earlier this year. They may be able to help you, and believe me when I say that you require help from an experienced monger. Without someone's help, you'll have a really tough time. Of course, feel free to contact the VVIP services on your own. After all, their telephone numbers are listed, but as everyone already knows, YMMV.

I believe they even paid Korean guides to help them with their nightlife adventures.

There are also a fair number of guys from Singapore who are clued into the scene. They even have their own forum. For me, it's not a very useful website because the advice doesn't apply to Europeans and Americans. However, it's nice to know that foreigners aren't completely shut out.

Being a white guy, my access is limited in a number of ways. I would generally need a Korean guy to set up a meeting at an OP with a Korean woman. It's somewhat odd, because Korean women certainly don't hate white guys. In fact, before getting married it was fairly easy to meet regular women who would be down to sleep around after 2-3 dates. To answer your other questions, the online sites show prices for all services and they do not charge higher prices for foreigners. For instance, all OPs recently raised their base rates in unison by 10,000 won. Hyugetels may soon follow suit, but I certainly hope not.

Hugaetel is like Opi but usually have foreign girls providing GFE / PSE at cheaper price. They also require your PII for screening.

Anma /“안마” is similar to AMP in US, but almost 100% of them provide FS. They have a legit massage business and often don't have screening. Girls are older and not as hot as Opi.

Gunma /“건마” is a "proper / legit" massage place. Or they claim to not provide any sexual service, but most of them do if you play your game right. But the service is not a sure thing as Anma and YMMV.

Anma, Gunma, and Kissbang is a legit business providing extras under the table, so it's mich harder to be cracked down, unless they catch you balls-deep in the girl, or if the girl confesses.

But Korean cops are not like US cop and they are not authoritative, according to what I've read in other forums. They act and speak very kindly, and offer you coffee. But make no mistake. Reading further into the current crackdown I also realized that the police are particularly focused on establishments that employ immigrants. This seems to be because the prosecutors office is able to show that the Korean management conspired to traffic women and conceal income. Law enforcement is seeking to use advertisements and phone records as proof of intent which is why some businesses no longer communicate through text.

If you happen to know whether the crackdown is also impacting OPs and Anmas where Korean women work, I would love to know.
