As one of the commenters on the original story noted, the author seems to have his tin hat strapped on too tightly. I would add that he's also apparently got it wired to his old metal cavity fillings. This is the work of a complete wannabe ignoramus trying to look and sound connected and infra-hip. (I actually know both some of the real bodyguards in Korea, having been introduced to them by former SAS friends in the business and having on-going relationships with them because they do protection detail for people I know who have real reason to engage them for their overseas guests, and the chumps who make believe they are doing the same kind of work for local corporate BSDs) who make believe they need the same service; the latter - both employers and "muscle' are jokes.) Aside from that, the info re provider rates is all significantly understated; the data on "karaoke" rooms is at least in the ballpark, but it's another sign of this guy's ignorance that he calls them that instead of "room salon."

I think they are just getting more drunk and/or crazier. I recently stopped in just to say hello to a fav on a Sunday morning around 7 when I knew she would be getting ready to lock up. Concur with the cock-blocking phenom that is occurring by korean guys. Went to one of my fav girls on the hill and this korean dude tried to follow me in. He yelled at the girl why you take white guy and not him. He tried to push his way in through the door. Girl slammed it on him and locked the door. Happened to be transiting the Hill for recon last Friday while enroute elsewhere. Saw a provider who looked familiar @ Number 1 at the top of the Hill. turned out to be Hyun-Shil, formerly of J-Bar across the street. I haven't seen her around in a long time, although she claims to have been ensconced at No. 1 since May. Anyway, sh'es lost about 10kg and is looking quite good - not that she looked bad when a bit zaftig - quite slim and perky. Stopped for a quick drink to catch up but didn't even sample the starters, as I didn't want to get seriously delayed, even though she playfully had the little trooper out of his barracks before the drinks were done. No. 1 also is a well above average venue in terms of size, layout, furnishings, etc. and so more comfortable than most of the bangholes on the Hill.

On the way down the Hill a few minutes later, I was lassooed by Yu-Ri @ ABC who not so subtly suggested a double by pointing out the "new face" now @ ABC. This must be the girl that Dissolved Boy spoke of recently. I wouldn't describe her as especially beautiful, but she is very attractive and, as I discovered later, was clearly something of a hard body in the not so distant past. LOL Assholes aside, kissing is the most intimate act there is. It's a line of intimacy most providers simply won't cross. Can you blame them? I can't. Now that I think about it, however, it does make the kiss rooms somehow very abnormal. Ah yes, the given we like to call cockblocking. That's a factor, too, but a lesser one in my opinion. Go back through these Seoul threads and most guys read like Cheap Charlies who don't buy unless they're offered pops for 100K or less.

I think to the vast majority balk at the 200K+/- going rate for foreigners at anmas. Little do they know what a deal that actually is. Then again, it's all relative, yes? I just spent a week punting in Macau where the average for FS starts at 1200HK$ and goes up rather rapidly. But I digress.

I wouldn't call it cock-blocking, but it certainly stems from the same source. And you know I agree with you about the plethora of Cheap Charlies in these parts; but I still think the problem is not the small number of full retail punters, but the dearth of anmas that will service them. I wrote a couple of long posts some time ago about the anma cluster in Gangnam, and in the course of my research i only found two that reliably would admit an unaccompanied foreigner, even one who can muddle along in Korean. That, and the inconvenience of having to go south of the river is what put me off those venues - not to mention my having the good fortune to find some real GFE/PSE gems closer to home. It would be nice to have them in better appointed settings, but forced a choice between the decor and the food, I'll take to meal.
