I cannot over emphasize the mobile phone, as bikerider pointed out, no need to call them, best option is to send them an SMS. Try to get as many phone #s as possible then send SMS msg to all of them, I would be very surprised if you didn't get at least one response. Try an avoid dinner, spending several hours with a KGirl that speaks marginal English is very painfull, you will be doing 95% of the talking. meet them for a movie than get them in a bar ASAP, start drinking.

Beware of Coyote Ugly in Itaewon. They will change the price on your CC Receipt that is sent to the bank. They tried to take me for about $2,000. I had the receipt and the made a complaint to the bank and it fixed.

You may think it is fine to use CC for a few hundred thousand won, but be careful and hang on to the receipt until it clears.

Don't worry about it if you go to Cheers. If you paid more than 300,000W to take a girl home you paid too much. The girl only gets half of the money from the drinks, and the bar fine. So it is best to make arrangements by phone so the girl gets the full amount.

I also prefer the freebie action, In my experience I have had more success in Hong Dae (university district about 30 minute cab ride from the Hyatt), than Iteawon or JJ Mahoneys (Hyatt Bar). I am in my early 30s, but have to admit I am starting to feel a bit old to be hanging out with Uni students. However, you really need someone who has been there a few times to show you around, unless you are prepared for a total hit or miss night.

Limelight in Iteawon is pretty much the only place I have had any success in picking up a KGirl and taking her home. In general KGirls are easy to get as long as you are living in Seoul and have a mobile phone #, they are not neccesarily looking for a boyfriend but usually want some contact after your fuck them.

Some courage is usually needed in approaching KGirls, they will in general not come up to you and strike up a conversation. They usually all say they speak no English, which is usually not the case. They are shy and afraid that their English is no good, this is when a few lines of Korean will help get over that initial block. be polite and smile, no need to engage in deep philosophical topic, ask basic easy questions --what do you do, where do you live, have you traveled outside of korea before. I have found that once you have engaged you gal and their friends they are usually really keen to have you stick around with them and have some fun drinking. Do you speak any Korean? If not, then you can try just about any bar in Itaewon. You need to dress well but not over the top. Wear a nice pair of slacks, shirt and shoes. Arrive early ~9-10pm on a week day, or late after the 1pm curfew for the military (is this still in effect?). The usual hunting rules apply.

A number of people have said the Limelight is a good place to hook-up. I've never been since I prefer more of a bar like environment where you can talk.

If you're in your 20's or early 30's you could also try Hong Dae, there are a number of night clubs there that are frequented by students. Korean helps here, but if you're decent looking you may do OK.

RM, the girls that work in places like In & Out and the other places that Ho Man and others described, are almost certainly in the safest envronments of all, in this business. Most places, they don't even get nude, let alone risk diseases (probably the worst they would risk would be a bad cold from a client suffering similarly). They never have to go anywhere to meet clients. Clients come to THEM. There is always male supervision onsite, in the event of things going south. Many places even have hidden "panic buttons". The biggest risk is carpal tunnel syndrome from too much "handplay".

I agree that certain redlight activity and areas cary risks - but my comment on tipping was specifically directed to the types of "hyu-ge-tel" places - which are almost "straight" when compared to even the hooker (juicy) bars on the Hill and elsewhere.

I never heard of the term Hyu-Ge Tel before. Next time I'll scan signs for these words. In the past I've always been afraid that these types of massage places were legit, and I'd get a great massage but by an ajuma.
