And, as Seoulstice observed in another comment, it's really pointless for other people to rant about overpaying. You're the only judge of that, really; if you left satisfied, you didn't overpay; you got the benefit of the bargain you made. Which is not to say that you might not have been able to make a better one if you had been able to convincingly project to the troll at the bridge that you were familiar with the local scene, preferably in Korean, which would make it more convincing. On the other hand, especially being ill-equipped, intel-wise and linguistically, to cleanly negotiate the price down, you likely would have got turned away. Similarly, when talking price directly with an SP, we all have to make choices about how much we want the unavoidable commercial aspect of the deal to color the real point of the encounter. Like you, I guess, I'm not inclined to souk haggling and am willing to leave a few bucks on the table when I judge that will generate some good will and sweeten the actual deed; if I judge otherwise, I move on; I'm not in the game to get the lowest price, but the best sexual experience at a price point with which I'm comfortable at the moment. By and large this has worked exceptionally well for me. None of the SPs I see watches the clock, they know what I like and go the distance in catering to my desires (even though I've been told by nearly all of them that I'm "himdeoro" (hard work)) and we both always enjoy ourselves (the SP also really getting into it being a principal turn-on for me). There's another such area of those bars at Ahyeon station, on the Green line just before Ehwa station. Give the guy a break! The price is the price. He was quoted a price, he paid that price and he got a great service in return. You think he overpaid - fine - keep your distance from the venue. Do not go waltzing in and insist on a 60k discount lest we lose another foreigner friendly venue.
