i've mongered in quite a few countries around the world, however i have never had such a bad experience as i had in sri lanka. i went to sl after spending a month in thailand. i had had an amazing time in thailand with both tg pro's and farang traveller girls. i went to sl to 'recover', however, i just couldn't resist at least having a look at the local availability. i think that my appetite was stimulated mainly by the beautiful receptionist at my hotel (coral sands in hikkaduwa).

anyway, i asked the local tuk-tuk drivers where i could spend some time with a lady and they all said that they knew a place nearby. so i jumped in and off we went. i think that the place was in ambalangoda, anyway it was definately north of hikkaduwa, in a town about 15 mins by tuktuk away. the place was a rundown former restaurant/poss hotel.

on arrival i was told that the price was 5,000 rupees, now i know that i was massively ripped off, and at the time i thought that's about twice the thailand price for st, but i thought that it was very very cheap in comparison to us/uk prices (about 33%), so i happily paid up. the guy who was running the place shouted for the girls and four girls turned up. not only did the girls turn up but about 10 local guys also gathered around for the choosing process - they all discussed what they thought and made their own comments. in comparison to thailand i just found the whole process far too public and embarassing.

anyway, the girls weren't up to much, all of them had the teeth of witches and could have done with some serious dental work ! 2 of them were very plain and unappealing, one of them was sort of sexy but old and her teeth were particularly bad, the 4th one was younger and could have been attractive if she were given some decent clothes, make up, hair cut etc. i was wondering why i was there after my month of mongering in thailand. i chose the 4th (younger) girl.

she took me through a network of about 4 rooms, all of them looking like empty and derelict. we finally got to her room and i went into the shower, taking care to take my wallet in the shower room with me. the girls said she did not speak any english, and obviously i don't speak sinhalese. she underessed and climbed on the bed. it was only then that i realised that i had forgotten my durex - she gave me a local indian condom. now guys, i don't want to brag, but i am of mixed caribbean-irish heritage and have inherited the best phallus genes of both legacies. these local condoms just cut the blood supply to my ample appendage, they're just not made for men of my size !

anyway, i put it on, fingered the girl a bit to make sure that she was lubricated and attempted to enter her. she was incredibly tight and i found it really hard to get it in. she just lay there like a piece of meat, no gfe, none of the fun and happiness that i'd experienced in thailand. the girl just lay with her legs open expecting me to do her. so i tried to push it in, but she remained very tight. the girl was squealing and crying out in sinhala. i finally managed to get it all the way home and the girl was in real discomfort. so i started trying to thrust, but every time i pushed she was crying out. after a few minutes her friend arrived outside of the door and they shouted to each other in sinhala. the friend was taking the [CodeWord140] out of my girl and mocking her squeals of discomfort ! the friend spoke english and relayed to me that my girl said that i was too big and she wanted me to finish soon.

well all of this, in combination with the worlds smallest and thickest condom started to put me off and i started to lose my erection. i had to stop, pull out and restimulate myself ! the girl wouldn't do anything which would turn me on (bbj or dfk, i didn't want to daty because she didn't seem too clean) and of course i couldn't talk to her, which is my usual way of getting hard again.

after a period of time i managed to get wood again and started doing her again. it was exactly the same the second time as the first. i just couldn't enjot it as the girl lay there like a slab of stone, except she squealed and moaned every time i thrust into her. after a period of time i thought this is just cruel to the girl & i don't feel like coming. so i stopped and headed for the shower. whilst i was in the shower the worlds biggest rat (the size of a small dog !) scurried around the cubicle and out under the curtain !! - my god i was out of there faster than carl lewis in his prime !

in the tuk-tuk on the way back the driver said to me that i shouldn't have chosen that girl as she was new at the brothel and did not have any experience. thanks for telling me that mr tuk-tuk! anyway, the lesson of the story is that sri lanka is a beautiful country for sight-seeing, beaches, surfing and sea food. however, if you want mongering fly on to thailand !

Sri Lanka’s sex workers are here to stay and so are getting street savvy - now with a union, an informal saving and lending scheme, health and day care facilities and a growing support network.

"There are over 10,000 estimated street prostitutes islandwide," said Sarath Jayawardena of the Sri Lanka United Nations Friendship Organisation, a NGO operating in Kandy.

Claiming that the sex trade was on the rise, Jayawardena cautions that there could be as many as 50,000 sex workers operating at varying levels – from the high class call girl to the massage parlour lass.

Citing hostels that doubled as brothels in Kanthale, he said that there were girls as young as 16 years working for Rs. 3000 an hour, and pointed out an instance in Mahiyanganaya where 24 rest-houses sprouted in the vicinity of a garment factory that was shut down.

Through their networking, a collection of NGOs - the AIDS Coalition - saw 79 sex workers, who usually work the streets peddling their wares, distributing red ribbons and AIDS awareness pamphlets, on the streets of Colombo to mark World AIDS Day.

These women were part of a new union, comprising sex workers, which is in the process of birthing its constitution and finding itself a suitable name.

Christmas as we know is the season of good cheer when there are office parties, the girls are dressed in their sexy gear and are willing to grind against you on the dance-floor. Girl A - Age 22, husband knifed in a fight, one child.

Girl B - Age 32, husband alcoholic, killed when his motor-bike crashed into a truck, one child.

Girl C - Age 26, husband had left her for another woman when she returned from a 2- year stint as a housemaid in the Middle East. Two kids.

Girl D - Age 26, husband killed by a viper (polonga) near Anuradhapura when working in a rice field. Two kids.

Sri Lankan men are reluctant to marry a widow even if she is good-looking as they believe that her "bad horoscope" contributed to her husband's death.

I will summarize my knowledge of the above topic by listing several settings for mongering in Sri Lanka, starting with what I perceive to be the safest and moving on to the more risky.

(1) 5-stars hotels are the safest, as the Police would be reluctant to raid these establishments which bring in the tourist dollars. You may be able to get sexual services at the "Ayurvedic" Health Centre in the hotel, or ask the bellboy to arrange for an outcall to your room. I am not aware of any Escort Agencies in Sri Lanka which openly advertise on the internet or elsewhere.

(2) Brothels operating under the guise of "Guest Houses" in Colombo or suburbs such as Dehiwala or Mount Lavinia should be relatively safe if they have been going for at least a couple of years. Surviving for this length of times implies that they have a cozy financial arrangement with LE. The other advantage of visiting a Guest House is that if you are in a guest room with a girl you could try claiming that she is your girl friend.

(3) Massage parlours in Colombo. The well-established ones should be safe but the girl will not usually strip and you only get an HJ.

(4) Other brothels in Colombo. The well-known ones are those on the 4th and 8th Floors of Liberty Plaza. These seem to be raided by Police about once a year, but mongers are not usually prosecuted.

(5) Guest house brothels outside Colombo are frequently raided by Police, except for the one in Dompe which I have mentioned elsewhere. The best bet in other places is the Ayurvedic Center in your hotel.

(6) Street walkers are often arrested by Police but mongers are usually spared. The other risks associated with SW's such as disease and mugging are similar to other countries.

I would be interested to know whether other mongers agree with my assessment, and especially whether they have any personal experiences.

I am reliably informed that there is a brothel in Dompe, about 40 km. out of Colombo, providing fairly good-quality girls at Rs.1400 for 1 1/4 hours FS. It is a private house situated in close proximity to a hotel, on the road from Dompe to Pugoda. I have not been able to ascertain the name of the hotel, or perhaps it has no name! You need to go to Dompe town and ask a three-wheeler driver to take you to the hotel where the girls are. The fare should be no more than Rs.50. I wonder whether other members have more information about this?

Why are good Sri Lankan working girls diifficult to find in Sri Lanka? Maybe they are hard at it in other countries. This is a quote from Pete33 in the Geylang red-light district of Singapore dated 10-05-04:

Risky practices like BBBJ are even more risky in Sri Lanka and other South and South-East Asian countries. According to WHO figures these countries have an incidence of syphilis 30 times as high as North America, and an incidence of gonorrhoea 15 times as high. If you meet SW's from Russia and other ex-Soviet bloc countries such as Belarus, bear in mind that syphilis incidence increased from 5 per 100.000 in 1990 to 150 per 100,000 in 1996 in those countries. The moral of the story is that if you are mongering in Sri Lanka you are better off being like Tea Boy and practising safe sex, although even he has occasional lapses documented in his posts. (That was before he came across these alarming statistics.)

Generic Viagra is available in Sri Lanka under the name of Edegra. A pack of 4 tablets (50mg.) is Rs.300. You don't usually need a prescription but you are obviously taking a big risk if you haven't had medical advice.
