I have been to quite a few hotels in Colombo which are more than 3-4 K. My main concern is not to spend more on the room. For that I can spend that amount on the deed. And Mainly I was searching for rooms in col 2/3/4/5 or Borella.

Try Relax Hotels or Solid Hotels. You can google them up. You find them in Dehiwala, Wellawatta, Attidiya, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana. Etc.

They are safe and charge 1000/- for about 3-4 hours (Non AC). Full day is about 1500. They ask for the guy's NIC though.
