I called one ad from the newspaper, the girl was disgusting. I told her to send me some good selection because I am here for more than a week and need a good service. She said OK, but she sent me a disgusting dark complexioned girl. I do not like this place.

New to the scene, but not Taiwan. But I have to agree most massage places seem to just be regular massage places, so far. Although I did have one older woman offer a HJ after the third massage (thought in Chinese, so I had no idea at the time. She doesn't work there anymore. Oh well).
Anyway, just want to thank all those who have done the legwork. Will definitely have to check out some of the places everyone has talked about.

I've had pretty good luck in Tainan. Hot wg's are hard to find, but you can usually find streetwalkers on the corner of Minzu & Simen (Ximen) roads. In the same area, there are some shitty little motels with girls in the lobby. There's another spot I've seen, but never tried. It's got a pink sign and is only open after 9pm or so. It's down an alley right off of Minzu & Guohua. It's a relatively safe area, so feel free to cruise around on foot. There's always a few girls in the lobby of the pink-sign place, but they're middle aged and probably won't do too much (but they'll be cheaper).
The Spa's are a better choice. There's a place I've hit a few times near Anping district. It's really close to the 24hr Carrefour, so PM me if you need a map. The girls are older, but they give you a full wash, BBBJ, and will fuck you well. The girls have numbers. #25 is older, but fun. She cums hard and frequently, and the harder you fuck her, the harder she fucks back. There's another girl. #9. Who will give you BBFS if you're into that. For 2500NT, it's a pretty good deal.
The massage parlors have been a disappointment. Nothing really happens there besides a good massage.
The barbershops are everywhere. And shitty little KTV's are on every other street. There's always a selection of middle aged and older women there that probably won't do much more than a HJ. But if you want to take a little drive, just get on the road heading towards Kaohsiung (after 9 or 10p) and you'll notice lots of colorful barber poles, but few other open businesses. Slow down and look in the windows. Those ladies inside are all working girls. I've never tried.
But if you're in Tainan, and you want a sure thing, go to Kaohsiung. Just hop on the train, and when you get there, exit the rear of the train station. Make a left, go about 3 blocks, and look for a place called Romantic City (or something like that). It's a *house and the girls are pretty cute. It's less than 3000NT for 50 minutes. But they're good for a wash, massage, hot tea BBBJ, and some energetic fucking.
Taiwan is a fun place, though more challenging than Bangkok or Phuket, but the girls here seem to enjoy their job more and enjoy a good shag.

Posts: 399News report: Taiwan planning special sex zones
From AFP wire (April 7, 2011)
Taiwan's government said Thursday it is planning to create legal red-light districts so that it can police the sex trade more easily and protect sex workers' rights.
Under the proposal, sex workers would be able to apply for licences to operate in authorised zones and would be punished for plying their trade elsewhere, along with their clients.
Prostitutes currently face three days in jail or a fine of up to Tw$30, 000 ($1, 000) if they are caught providing sexual services while their clients go unpunished.
"The government intends to open up the sex industry to a moderate degree to better regulate it in accordance with the majority of public opinions," said Liu Wen-shih, of the interior ministry, which is due to submit the proposal to the cabinet next month.
A poll commissioned by the ministry late last year found that 76. 5 percent were in favour of conditionally opening up the sex trade while 14. 5 percent wanted a ban and 7. 6 percent supported unconditional opening.
The ministry dropped an earlier plan to allow small-scale brothels without zoning because it would be too difficult to keep a tab on them, Liu said.
While there is no official figure for the scale of Taiwan's sex industry, observers estimate it involves hundreds of thousands of people and generates billions of US dollars a year.

Posts: 258Abc Boy KTV adventure in March, taking reservations now
Damn it what happened to this place? Haven't been here for a few months and though I would miss a lot, but it turns out I have missed nothing. Come on guys, is Taiwan that boring?
Anyway, I'm heading back to Taiwan in early March and is taking reservations for a group KTV adventure. Please tell me what you guys are into:
1) Uniform KTVs: Girls are usually 5-6 in looks (remember I'm picky, so you might think they are 8-9) , but they are very daring and go all out in pleasing you and playing "games" with you. Charge by the hour (plus room fee and how much alcohol you drink)
2) Plain Clothes KTVs: Girls are usually guaranteed to be 8-10 in looks, good height, and decent body."Business" included in the price. Downside: you need to pay for the girl for the whole day (easily $25, 000 to $30, 000)
3) Dress Clothes KTVs: Girls are usually good looking. 7-8. Pay by the hour,"business" charge extra. They are less daring in playing games, but will submit if you work hard enough.
I am more of a lone ranger type so I will probably only join you guys for the first hour, and then I will go. But you guys can stay and have fun.
Let me know who's in.

Other obvious options are translation (to English, since you don't write Chinese) , English editing, copyreading, and writing for English newspapers / magazines.

I know this is a forum to share mongering information so I'd like to apologize in advance for asking questions not related to mongering.
I would like to move to Taipei in the near future. What kind of employment can someone that does not write Chinese find? Even though Mandarin is my first language, I can't write it because I've been in the states since I was 8 years old. Any suggestions?

When I first came to Taiwan I got a mix reaction although after two years I am getting mostly positive vibes. I'm mixed. A lot of it comes down to the smile. Taiwanese people don't really smile in general and it has a big effect of them.
Another thing I was doing wrong was going out dress slick like I was going to a club in the states. I needed to tone things down and always look casual.
The best way to get and meet girls is to chain them. What I mean is, if you want to initiate with a girl bring a very talkative girl with you. The girls will chat in Chinese but you get friend points too somehow. And then you can always talk to that girl again. If you don't have a talkative girl to start with you going to have to talk to a guy first and then go to a girl. Basically, its all about groups so don't look lonely.

Posts: 15Btw, what about the fact that in TW people don't talk to strangers unless they are both involved in organized activities? That IS part of the culture. So why are you all not taking it into consideration?

Posts: 15An expat friend of mine in Taipei who has been here for many years, told me that TW girls just don't like some guys for some reason, even if there is nothing wrong with them. Here is how he explained it.
Some people do get lots of attention, dates, and sex in Taiwan. That's a fact. I know of many personally. And a lot of these get nothing back in their home countries. So Taiwan is a great social boost for some guys.
Its true that for whatever reason, some guys turn girls off in Taiwan. When I used to have lots of gal pals, I would sometimes ask them what they thought of certain guys, sometimes just strangers we observed when people watching. There responses would sometimes surprise me. They might say he looks like a bad person or make some comment about his eyebrows being too close together or some other bizarre thing. With others, they would say he looks, so cute, approachable, innocent, friendly, etc. They would not comment specifically on whether the guy was handsome, average, or ugly unless I phrased my question very specifically - Do you think he is handsome / ugly / ordinary? They tended to observe lots of details instead of focusing on how good looking the guy was.
I used to have a friend, virtual ABC just like you. He was a nice enough guy and treated his mates well. He probably met at least 10 of my female Taiwanese friends at different stages. They all did not like him. Some of them thought he stared at their tits. Others thought he was a spaced-out pervert. A few were polite to his face but kept a distance. Others were cold and sometimes even rude when he tried to talk to them. They all seemed to think he was a loser. When I asked them why, they could never give me a logical answer. It was just the feeling they got from him. I reckon this is what you mean by vibes.
It sounds like, from all you've said, that you young Taiwanese girls can't stand you but the Filipinas love you. Why try to swim upstream. Focus you attention where its wanted.
