So we recently finished our little Shanghai jaunt (see that thread for early week Adventures of Steve) and are ready for Taipei. Let me tell you Taipei is a tough nut to crack. Many thanks to a new forum buddy for a Line broker hookup. We would have been lost without this.

Excellent report and in line with my own experience in Taipei. The A class KTV there has some seriously stunning selection that you see at nice clubs around 101. The two biggest problems are:

1) Price. ST with those higher tier KTV will set you back anywhere from 18-22 k NTD. That's not including room, drinks, tips, etc which are ok additions. That's why Taiwanese love going to Dongguan in its heyday because flying there for full weekend swing will cost about same as one heavy night at high end KTV here. RIP dongguan.

2) Reference. Even with money you do need reference due to nature of the biz, especially for the place which provide takeout. Most people there can't speak English to save their lives. I used to have a good mamasan from this KTV where we were close enough to where she can have the girl come meet me directly at dinner place outside of the KTV. She retired and got herself nice house with another condo in Bangkok to boost. That tells you the kind of money and power these mamasan have in the biz.

Thanks for his report I went there (XIDU spa). It seems that this spa has several nick names: Xidu spa, Jing Hua spa.

We were after KTV but with some extras. So we started corresponding with our Line contact about 3 weeks ago. He was very helpful in explaining the options. They range from a uniform shop with see class girls — but very hands on — to a dress shop with A class girls but no hanky panky for the most part. After a lot of dialog and enduring several rounds of upsell we settled on a very reasonably priced uniform shop with happy ending standard (even though it turned out the girls were wearing gowns / dresses).

This turned out to be a great choice. Day of the visit we got the exact location and final pricing. It is definitely a little intimidating if you don't know what to expect.
