I am visiting from another country and have finally gotten somewhat adjusted to the time. Therefore, this was the perfect time to try and visit Wanhua and from there checkout options on Linsen road. I had about 6 k NT on me but wanted to get another 9 k NT to make sure I had sufficient cash on me for doing multiple visits per day. As mentioned in other posts, currency exchange only seems to happen at banks and being a Saturday, they were all closed. I should have exchanged currency earlier in the week (Unprepared). I arrive at the department store and find the currency exchange desk. First thing the lady tells me is I need the original passport and can't use the picture of my passport on my phone. FML (Unprepared). Going back to get my passport was out of the question because I'm staying in northern Taipei and takes me about 30-40 minutes by MRT. At least I had 6 k NT on me which would be plenty for Wanhua but I wasn't confident would be enough for Wanhua + Linsen road. Sadly, I had to nix visiting Linsen road this evening and hope I have time in the coming days.

Second order of business was to get some blue pills and condoms. I found a pharmacy near the department store and got the blue pills from the staff of female employees with a store full of people picking up their medications. To top it off, they wouldn't allow me to pay for the pills with card. Only cash. FAK, my limited on hand cash decreased by a little over 1 k. I quickly discovered I was suppose to go to the Xichang Market.

Probably less than 30 minutes by the easy access local MRT subway system, or bus or Taipei's very convenient YouBike system.

There is so much recent information in this thread. Just read a bit and scroll down. Put a little effort in and you will have a wealth of information. It won't take you very long to actually feel like you are a very well informed visitor.
