Sorry, this is not a new update. That will come soon. I will be in Dushanbe in June for a week and hope to find some fun, and share the good news with all of you. Overall Dushanbe is a hidden gem a very nice and cheap place.

It sounds like you had a good time and things are improving in Dushanbe. I would like to go back again in 2017, but don't have the time. As you found out, not many people speak English in Tajikistan, and I heard from several college students they prefer to learn Chinese so they can work in China or do business with Chinese companies.

I visited Dushanbe for 4 days in Sepetember, I booked an apartment from airbnb. I found Dushanbe to be a nice, clean safe city.

DAY 1.

First night I arrive late and went to apartment and have rest. Next day I buy a sim card for 5 usd my apartment owner helped me for that and than change to usd into somoni.

Day 2 Maria.

At night I went to opera disco by taxi, there were about 10 girls and about 10 guys. Some of girls were good some OK but nothing special, so after a drink I went to Manhattan there were also about 10 girls but good one were occupied. I left Manhattan and ask the the taxi guy about "devushka" Russian word meaning girl. He took me to another club which he called VIP but his actual name was different which I don't remember exactly. As it was very late it was bit empty just 5 girls and all were occupied. Than the same taxi guy called someone and took me to a residential building after some time a girl come to the car but she was ordinary, I simply declined her..

Day 3 Opera girl.

Next day I went to beshai polangon a place mentioned by Shiftab in previous posts, it is bit far from city, basically it is an restaurant with live dance performances by dancers. No one there speak english, I ordered food after a lot of hassle, the restaurant have ladyboys as employs and as dancers. There were some girls and many guys. This place was low standard catering to locals. After eating food left the place as it was very difficult to talk with them and didn't know how to approach girls directly. Than I reached opera disco, I found the girl which was occupied yesterday and talk with her she quoted 100 usd and I agreed and left. She stayed for about 3 hours drink whiskey smoke cigarettes and we talk on google translate, she told me that most of hotels in Dushanbe are green specially Hyatt, they just need passport and most of girls carry passport with them for that purpose. She was also good but bit old than Maria and was divorced mother of little girl.

Day 3 Marua's friend.

Next day I chatted with maria on Viber, she sent me photos of girls most of them were very good looking, I selected a girl but later she told me she is on periods, than she sent me photo of another girl which she recommended and quoted 200 usd for whole night I accepted the offer. At 9 pm they both came to my apartment and maria asked me for 100 usd upfront I gave her 100 usd and she left the girl later I found that 100 usd was commission of maria and her friend was not aware of that. This girl was very lovely shy girl half Tajik half Chechen from mother side, she was student of international relations at university and work part time at jewelry shop. She took the loan for her education, she accepted the offer of maria to spend a night to pay her debts. She was very shy and it was clear she was not a working girl. We had an amazing night, we chat, went outside to buy condoms and something to eat have sex multiple times total GFE. She left in the morning I paid her 100 usd. Later in the afternoon I left for airport to Almaty.

Dushanbe turns out to be a subtly sexy town. My last visit was on vacation during Navruz, when I thought there would be many holiday makers and women around, but only to be disappointed with an almost empty city. My second visit was for work and things turned out very differently. Looking over some information on the internet and on what was posted here, I planned to go to some nightclubs and bars to see what girls were available. I went to the People bar on a Saturday night at 10:30 PM after dinner, expecting a lively busy bar full of girls. Instead I found a half empty bar, with only two girls sitting at the bar, neither were attractive. Other girls in the bar were sitting at tables with guys or dancing with their friends. Later, some expats came into the bar and I heard from them the place doesn't get busy until after midnight. It seems the before midnight crowd are regular people out to have a good time, and the working girls come after midnight. The entry fee is 30 Comoni, and a table is 80 Comoni, but the bar is free so the working girls sit at the bar.

I asked a taxi driver about where to find girls and it turns out there are two places on the street and several discos where working girls are available. The Opera disco is a favorite place to pick up better looking girls but they all ask for $100 or 650 Comoni for the night. There is a sports bar near Opera called Istiqlol, so you can always hang out there if Opera has no decent girls available. Ask any taxi driver to take you to Opera and they'll know where it is. Another disco with working girls is Manhattan on Bokhoro street near Rudaki street. This disco is on the second floor of a business building and is easy to spot by the number of taxis parked outside. Just like Opera, you'll pay an entry fee and dance with some girls and pick one of them to spend the night with you. There was a third disco that a Tajik friend took me to that is patronized by locals and doesn't have any foreigners. The place is called Beshai Polangon, which is the same name as a nature preserve, and is well known among the locals. Any taxi driver can take you there but you'll have to speak Tajik or Russian. The disco has a 25 Comoni entry fee, and you would sit at a table and order food and drink, then invite any of the girls over to your table to sit and dine with you. You'll need a bit of personality to get the girls interested in you since they have a lot of guys to choose from. I saw two cops dressed in their uniforms there hanging out and picking up girls, so there's a veneer of legitimacy with this disco even though it's well known the women there are professionals. You can go dance with the girl and if everything feels good, she'll go home with you. This place is more expensive than the 4-5 other discos on the same street and the only one charging an entry fee, but the girls here look better than the free places. In one of the free discos, there were only two girls but five guys. In these discos, the women are all working girls after midnight, but there's a chance of coming across an average citizen before midnight.

It was a strange scene at 2 AM when the Polangon was slowing down and the girls who didn't have customers were leaving. There was a line of cars parked on the other side of the street with guys calling the girls over to make offers to them. We saw three good looking girls get into a Lexus SUV and head off, thinking that guy must be rich and horny to have three girls. Half an hour later when I by Manhattan to check out the scene, I saw the same Lexus parked outside. I went to Opera and one of the kids that hang out there said there were no girls in Opera, they had all gone to Manhattan. It seems the working girls go to which ever disco is the most profitable for that night.

One taxi driver took me to a street called Saudi Sherozi street where girls sit in cars parked on the side of the road to wait for customers. There's a law that prohibits the working girls from standing on the street, so they sit discreetly in cars. The taxi stopped next to one of these cars and the driver looked over and motioned them to come into the taxi. One of the girls got out of the parked car and sat in the back seat of the taxi and started talking with the taxi driver since I don't speak Tajik. The girls sitting in cars in this part of town are the bottom end, in looks, hygiene, and price. One woman looked in her 40's was smoking a cigarette and drinking beer with a bottle in her hand, looking intoxicated and quite gross. Many are fat and quite unattractive. They charge 200-300 Comoni which is half what the girls in the discos ask for, but I'm sure the quality of the experience would be less than half.

One thing I didn't take into account was that these places get busy after midnight. At such a late hour, you'll stand out when returning to the hotel since the lobby will be empty and hotel staff will clearly see the foreigner coming back with a local girl. They know these girls at the bars and discos are working girls and wouldn't let them in. The Hyatt, where my employer booked a room for me, didn't let my girl in. They asked her to register at the front desk with her passport, knowing no local carries their passport with them. This was their way of politely saying no working girls allowed. I would suggest finding a hotel that is girl friendly, or, if you have no choice in hotels, arrange with the girl to come to your hotel the following day in the afternoon or early evening when the staff are not on the lookout for guys coming back with working girls.

A third option is to ask a taxi driver if he knows anyone who can arrange a meeting with a girl. You should remember this is still an Islamic country so you'll have to be discreet. It's best if you find a taxi driver who'll take you to one of these discos and see if he's comfortable with you riding with a working girl in his car before asking him to tap into his connections to arrange a girl for you. Of course, you should pay the driver more than the 30-40 Comoni taxi ride he normally asks for. After a debacle trying to bring a girl back to my hotel, I decided to go this route. I asked the taxi driver if he can arrange a girl for me and he called he next day with an offer. A friend of his knew someone who manages several girls and told the manger I would offer 600 Comoni. The taxi picked me up at my hotel at 11 PM and drove me to a dark road that seemed barely paved. We pulled up in front of a parked car and he got out to talk with the driver, then motioned me to come over. I got into the back seat and saw a very pretty woman in her late 20's, better than what I had expected after seeing the girls in the discos. The girl joined me back in the taxi and we drove to a nearby apartment building, where a most surreal experience began.

We walked into the apartment building, climbed some stairs, and the girl called her friend to open the door. We went inside and I was surprised to see another young woman with a 2-3 year old boy in the apartment. The two-room apartment had myself, the taxi driver who was acting as translator, the girl I wanted to enjoy, her friend, and her friend's young son sitting on the floor of the apartment. I was afraid I would have to do the act in front of an audience; not what I was expecting. After a few minutes talking with the taxi driver translating, my girl and I went into the other room and closed the door. The taxi driver stayed and was playing with the young boy and talking with his mother. I thought he would stay the whole time to wait for me, which was not what I wanted. Eventually, my girl went to the living room and asked the taxi driver to leave and he did. We picked up some blankets, mats, and pillows and headed into the living room, and, after talking for a few minutes, her friend took her son into the other room, which turned out to be their bedroom. My girl closed the door and laid out the mats and blanket, then pulled me down to sit with her. She took her clothes off before I could even say anything and I suddenly felt uncomfortable being fully dressed with a beautiful naked woman there almost begging me to fuck her. I undressed and we began the sex, both of us giving each other oral and then intercourse in the missionary position. Throughout the whole time, I thought it was weird we were having sex on the floor of her friend's living room, but she seemed fine with it. I didn't speak Tajik and only a little Russian, but we understood each other enough to enjoy ourselves. After the sex, we cleaned up a bit and then cuddled by the heater, then laid down to rest, with lots of touching and cuddling under the blanket. After half an hour of rest, her friend knocks on the door and comes into the room to get something, stepping over the two of us lying naked spooning under the blanket. I never had that happen to me before. Around 2:30 AM, I got up to go back to the hotel, even though I could have stayed longer. For 600 Comoni + 150 Comoni to the taxi driver, I had almost 3 hours of good sex and companionship with a beautiful woman in one of the most unusual situations I have ever encountered, and it was well worth it.

During Navruz, it seems many of the hotels are empty or close to empty. I went to the Hotel Tajikistan tonight and there were only few guys hanging out in the lobby but no girls. I ate dinner in the restaurant which was empty except for myself and a family of tourists. In the streets there are lots of women wearing colorful Navruz dresses, but no one that looked like they were working girls. I didn't go to any bars so I don't know if they are affected by the holiday, but hotel lobbies, restaurants, and bars that would normally have working women are almost completely empty.

Thanks for the note regarding Hotel Tajikistan-were any girls also hanging out in the large lobby with the bar on the ground floor? Also, you reference Port Said, did you go there and if so, did you have any luck? I was in Dushanbe in September 2013, stayed in an apartment, but I noticed the city seemed dead after around 9:30pm.
