Instead of spending 4 nights in Bangkok in October my stay there was cut down to one night only. So I decided to stay at the Sofitel Sukhumvit (for being close to Soi Cowboy AND Nana) and was very happy with the choice, nevertheless I appreciate all your useful recommendations like Sukhothai or Muse, maybe next time. They put me into one of these larger corner rooms. Breakfast buffet was very fine (better than at Grande Centre Point on par with Landmark) but the thing that was really outstanding was the super charming and friendly staff at reception. Not only helpful and polite but also cute.
The hotel is girlfriendly. My girl had to show her I'd card when we came there in the night, so probably we cannot call this "totally girlfriendly" (as it is in some hotel where nobody cares who you bring in).

I stayed in Phachara (close to Nana) in October for over 10 nights. Fantastic hotel. Now I am going back in November and the prices has gone up from 2000 to way way over 3000. I am looking for an alternative and have sorted out a bunch of options. Has anyone any recent experience from any of these hotels.
Boss Suites Nana. THB 1, 599. 84.
City Lodge Sukhumvit 9 Hotel. THB 2, 001. 00.
Royal Ivory Hotel. THB 1, 739. 00.
I find only some older reviews here. In Agoda all get OK reviews, but I trust the members of ISG more.

Posts: 991Grand President vs. Royal Presidint
Breadman:
If it's not too late I would change from Royal Prez to Grand Prez mainly due to location. Grand Prez is closer to BTS and there is a shortcut thru the Park Hotel parking lot off Soi 11 that gets you to the Biergarden in about 2 minutes. Also, GP is more handy for soi 7/1 which has the BJ Nuru and BJ bar. Soi 11 is a great street with nightclubs, restaurants, western grocery Villa Market and the massage places with extras right next to Villa Market. I would change if possible even though the Royal Prez isn't bad.

I will visit Bangkok in November 2013 and already had reservation with Maxim Inn Deluxe bed at a cost 1390bt a night. I stayed at Maxim Inn before, it is a GF hotel and very quietly at the end of Soi 7/1. What's a very conviently location close to Nana bts. I like this Maxim Inn when I found out Majestic suite was a noisy hotel facing Sukhumvit and the staff could not even give a decent one even I had a reservation at a much higher cost than Maxim Inn.
