JW is right on the corner of Soi 2, moments from Nana.
Courtyard has reports of not being GF.
JW couldn't care less.
Courtyard is a mid-level hotel, if that.
JW is top-shelf.
You don't give a budget, so it's impossible to give further advice.

Posts: 26I apologize if this has been discussed before, but I was unable to find a report on this. I have some free nights to spend at a Marriot hotel. So, does anybody can advice me what to choose between the Courtyard Marriot and the JW Marriot? Are both of them girl friendly? Which one is better located? Should I forget about the Marriot and look somewhere else? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I will be in BKK November 28-December 3.

Sorry to ask. You didn't make an explicit statement either way. I am familiar with the Tune in Kuta (Bali) and Kuala Lumpor, and found those most satisfactory.

I am really on vacation, not just here to monger (though is there a difference?) to that end I chose the Conrad Hilton. Fantastic hotel, I got points off on it and even if I paid full price this room is well worth it.

Many hotels are adequate for sleeping. Grand Millenium has great beds and great breakfast but is not always my choice. Depends on the price at the time. Dynasty Grande was a great hotel except for crap food when I stayed there. Chef had just no idea at all. Simple remedy was to eat elsewhere.
Everyone has a very different minimum standard. You can't expect everyone to adhere to your minimum standard. Some guys maximum budget is below your minimum standard. Why should we care. Each to their own. There will always people looking for a budget room well below my standard price and miles below yours. Some people want to keep their limited money for mongering.
Why do you have a problem with someone who wants a room only to sleep?
Not everything in life has equal importance and therefore need not have equal quality. Each person must prioritise what things matter the most.
Does my room have highest quality DVD player at no additional charge? The Admiral Premier has a DVD player, but who cares if I do not use it. It has a fantastic sized fridge. Useful to me but not to everyone. Its down side is the batrooms are not well designed. This could be very important to some and very unimportant to others.
Admiral Premier doesn't bat an eye when I take 3 girls to the room for sex party. Now that is what I call important.

The discussion can go on for ever. What does amaze me is that visitors who will pay $1, 000 for a flint then quibble over a $5 difference in hotel cost. Location, location, location is perhaps a key factor.
We each have our own ideas and it is not as if Bangkok is over whelmed with tourists. F you don't like your first choice. Move!

S Sukhumvit Suites.
Citadines Soi 23.
Terminal 21- Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit (if you can find the right discount offer)
Jasmin Executive Suites.
All with very easy access to the MRT and BTS esp #s 1, 3.4. No hassles getting to the teen oilys on 24/1; 33; Thong Lor. Etc. Even I can stagger back to these hotels from Cowboy.

As far as Hotels go, there are a lot of hotels in the lower sukh that will charge below 2k per night, include Breakfast, free wifi and be clean and modern.
Example was the SOLO Hotel: http://www.solohotelsresorts.com/
Or even Best western soi 20:http://www.agoda.com/asia/thailan....html?asq=CptD%2fTqQ%2bRJNT9BbX5z1yw%3d%3d
