Also, the hotel looks to be good enough. I will be in J W Marriot for 2 days which would be billed to office and later I am planning to extend the trip on my own expense. I am not looking for a luxurious stay anyways, Maxim Inn should work for me.

Just a warning on the JW Marriott. It is a 5 star and super nice. However, I have brought girls there and they almost seem uncomfortable with the opulent surroundings. Because of this they seem to feel you can afford to pay them more. Just make sure you are totally clear about any service / price prior to taking them there.

    Gents,

My take is Maxim's Inn at soi 7/1 Sukhumvit road. This hotel is newly up grade all interior rooms and freshly new paint. I stayed there in November. 2011 and very pleased with the hotel condition very quietly and yet closed to the NEP. Soi Nana and BTS station. The hotel is totally GF. And when my girl left the front desk called me and check to see if anything is okay. I had a pleasant surprise there. The Majestic suite never does thing like that when I was staying at M. S. Many times before I switch to Maxim's Inn. The cost at Maxim's Inn is only 1190 baht a night for a double bed with a small safe box in room. The A / C. Is also in good working condition. The only downside is the tiny bathroom, standing shower. I like the soi 7/1 with Eden club nearby and many good looking girls bars on this short soi.

Tai Pan is right by Soi Cowboy. Only a stone's throw away.

A few of those are away from what you want. I think the G. President may be your best choice. The President Palace is a lot better and right next door. Also, check out The Dawin.

I don't think your choice #4 can be rated at a walking distance from the "night life", the famous MP's and NEP.

I was just there and hit up several. Like the other dude said, all the girls know them. Usually 300B and they give you a condom and clean towels.

I'm planning 7 to 14 days in Bangkok sometime this year. Lots of great hotel info on this thread thanks to many great posts. But most of these places wouldn't have a washing machine and dryer in room.

I'm wondering if I should get an apartment with washing machine (at Adelphi Suites for example). Or, are "laundry shops"/laundromats common in the Sukhumvit area? In which case there's no need to get an apartment with a washing machine.

They are all over the place and cheap. I had 5 shirts, 2 pants, and 2 other items done and it cost me less than 300B. Don't wash it yourself.

Also, Adelphi Suites is nice and in a great loc.

I know of one in Soi 4 on the Nana Plaza side opposite the Rajah Hotel car park.

Another are another 1 or 2 down Soi 5.

They charge per item, not by weight.

    Irv,

This question has been answered before in the forum. You will find lots of laundromats with staff service in Bangkok. Just explore the area around your hotel and you will find at least one, if not more, such laundromats. You just drop your clothes and you will get them back all cleaned up and nicely packed after a few hours. The payments are made based upon the weight of the clothes taken together.

Try the Grand President on Soi 11, there are three President properties next to each other.
