Wotif secret five star hotel deals update, plus one

A few Wotif udates in the 5 star category for those that are interested in something a bit nicer for the money. Have personally stayed at each facility just recently. All extremely (blind eye) guest friendly:

Millennium Grande Asoke: 2600 Baht http://www.wotif.com/hotel/View?hote...ll&refId=65662 Upgrade to Grande room, high floor free 10.4 mb Internet = 300 Baht. No free breakfast.

Lebua at State Tower Silom: 3499 Baht http://www.wotif.com/hotel/View?hote...ll&refId=65662 Stay three nights get upgrade to high floor river view. One bedroom extravaganza. Thai chicks go crazy over this place and the rooftop bar.

Marriott Executive Apartments Sukhumvit Park - Soi 24: 3530 Baht http://www.wotif.com/hotel/View?hote...ll&refId=65662 Large studio. New hotel, nice setup, not far from Tops, 7-11, Au Bon Pain, etc. Internet 500 Baht. XLNT super quiet business center for quality meetings. No free breakfast.

Mayfair Bangkok Marriott Executive Apartments - Langsuan: 2999 Baht http://www.wotif.com/hotel/View?hote...ll&refId=65662 One bedroom suite. Great location. Aging but still OK. Nicely appointed suite rooms. Upgrade to Sr. executive (enormous) well worth it = 400 Baht. Internet 600 Baht. No free breakfast.

Marriott Executive Apartment, Sathorn Vista, Suan Plu Sathorn: 2999 Baht http://www.wotif.com/hotel/View?hote...ll&refId=65662 One bedroom suite. The original example for Marriott Suk 24 styling, very tasty digs for the dough. Superb kitchen area. Internet 600 Baht. No free breakfast.

    Not a Wotif secret:

Fraser Suites Urbana Sathorn Bangkok. Book through hotel website

"Fraser Holiday Extravaganza": 3280 Baht. http://bangkok-sathorn.frasershospitality.com (Look for 'featured promotions' @ mid-page lower right) Includes room type free upgrade to larger suite, free breakfast buffet, and free 5.1 mb Internet. Good until Jan. 31. XLNT pool, very nicely appointed brand new rooms, nice kitchen, decent breakfast. Hotel is far better than the Fraser Suk and my 'Good deal of the month'.

Hope a few of you guys can get some use of it.

    Thanks,

Can only hope it still is then.

Does anyone have experience with Swissotel opposite Caesars and Emmanuelle etc.?

I have never had a problem. Sometimes if a girl comes to visit, I will get a call from the desk before they escort her up.

    Other than that, no problems.

I Style Hotel on Soi 22

I did a search and did not see any references to the I Style hotel on Soi 22. I will be in Bangkok with the Thai GF and booked there. Agoda had their 3000 baht room down to 1700. The Thai GF has to have a large screen TV and so that sealed the deal along with the price. Just curious how good or bad the place is.

    Guest friendly?

I was wondering if anyone knows about these two hotels:

Ramada d'ma hotel (near pethuari I believe).

    Swissotel (on ratchadapisek).

I will be staying first at ramada for a while and then at swissotel.

If anyone has insights I am keen to hear them. One important thing is whether they are girl friendly?

So Matt will just have to consider Soapy MPs, and taking bar girls to short time hotels I guess. Not the end of the world.

If you only will play up in your room with one trusted girl, then you simply say at check in time that your GF may come and check in later. Then when you bring a girl, hopefully conservatively dressed and with an overnight bag, then she should check in too. I have certainly used this technique at Century Park for GF that wasn't there at initial check in. But won't be able to check in two different girlfriends and make sure there is nothing she might consider stealing if you don't know her well.

If they ask up front what her name is, just say "Anne" and that you don't know how to pronounce or spell her real fullname.

This technique is really more applicable for a semi-GF or a girl that you have already tried before and want to take for a possibly multi-day booking.

    Staying at S Sukhumvit Suites

I'll be staying at S Sukhumvit Suites from the 12-18, which is at the Asoke intersection and right in front of Soi Cowboy. I'll give a report on it later when I get there next week.

As I used to take just one GF there, I can't be absolutely sure that its totally Girl friendly but wouldn't expect a problem. I think some other girl did visit me there and nothing was said. Can't remember details.

There is an entrance that doesn't pass reception.
The buffet lunch or dinner is very good.

Probably could ask Tim at ThaiHotelDiscounts if GF.

Soi DB is a good site to get general info on Bangkok including Hotels near some spot. Not a booking site though but tries to give features of Hotels like whether has Broadband, Pool, Gym, etc.
    e.g.
    http://www.soidb.com/en/bangkok/stay...residence.html
is a Hotel near to Wat Pho.

Please note that Soi DB hasn't got every single Hotel in Sukhumwit yet but is close.

    Bang Per Buck....

I am going to Bangkok for about 3 days. What is the best hotel in Nana to stay at?

My budget is about 1000 baht per day.

I was thinking Dynasty Inn? Was about 980 baht a few years ago.

What is Nana Hotel like? I head about 1500 baht? And they are a "family hotel now. WTF! "

I have stayed at Nanathai. Right at the end of the soi. A few years ago.

    Please advise best cheap hotel?
